Осия, сын Илы, стал царём в Самарии над Израилем в двенадцатый год царствования Ахаза, царя Иудейского. И правил Осия девять лет.

In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned nine years.

Осия делал то, что Господь считал злом. Но он не совершал столько зла, сколько совершали цари Израильские, которые были до него.

He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, but not like the kings of Israel who preceded him.

Салманассар, царь Ассирийский, вышел, чтобы сразиться с Осией. Салманассар победил Осию, и Осия стал его слугой, и платил ему дань.

Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up to attack Hoshea, who had been Shalmaneser’s vassal and had paid him tribute.

Царь Ассирийский узнал, что Осия составил против него заговор, так как Осия отправлял посланников к Сигору, царю Египетскому, и не платил ежегодной дани царю Ассирийскому, как делал прежде. Тогда царь Ассирийский взял его под стражу и посадил в темницу.

But the king of Assyria discovered that Hoshea was a traitor, for he had sent envoys to Soa king of Egypt, and he no longer paid tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year. Therefore Shalmaneser seized him and put him in prison.

Царь Ассирийский атаковал землю по всему Израилю. Он подступил к Самарии и держал её в осаде три года.

The king of Assyria invaded the entire land, marched against Samaria and laid siege to it for three years.

Царь Ассирийский захватил Самарию в девятый год царствования Осии. Он переселил израильтян в Ассирию, и поселил их в Халахе и в Гозане, возле реки Хавор, и в других городах Мидийских.

In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and deported the Israelites to Assyria. He settled them in Halah, in Gozan on the Habor River and in the towns of the Medes.

Это произошло потому, что израильтяне согрешили против Господа, Бога своего, Который вывел их из земли Египетской из-под гнёта фараона, царя Египетского. Израильтяне стали поклоняться другим богам.

All this took place because the Israelites had sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up out of Egypt from under the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. They worshiped other gods

Они стали делать то же самое, что делали народы, которых Господь изгнал с их земли, когда пришли израильтяне. Израильтяне также выбрали, чтобы ими правили цари, а не Бог,

and followed the practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before them, as well as the practices that the kings of Israel had introduced.

и тайно совершали злые дела против Господа, их Бога. Израильтяне построили высоты во всех своих городах — от сторожевой башни до укреплённого города.

The Israelites secretly did things against the Lord their God that were not right. From watchtower to fortified city they built themselves high places in all their towns.

Они установили у себя святые камни и столбы Ашеры на каждом высоком холме и под каждым развесистым деревом.

They set up sacred stones and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every spreading tree.

Они воскуряли фимиам на всех высотах, как делали народы, которых Господь изгнал с земли перед ними. Израильтяне творили зло и гневили Господа.

At every high place they burned incense, as the nations whom the Lord had driven out before them had done. They did wicked things that aroused the Lord’s anger.

Они поклонялись идолам, и Господь сказал израильтянам: "Не делайте этого".

They worshiped idols, though the Lord had said, “You shall not do this.”b

Господь предостерегал Израиль и Иуду через всех своих пророков и провидцев. Господь сказал: "Отвернитесь от зла, которое вы делаете. Подчиняйтесь Моим заповедям и уставам, которые Я дал вашим предкам, и послал вам через слуг Моих, пророков".

The Lord warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers: “Turn from your evil ways. Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance with the entire Law that I commanded your ancestors to obey and that I delivered to you through my servants the prophets.”

Но они не слушали. Они были упрямы, как их предки, которые не верили Господу, своему Богу.

But they would not listen and were as stiff-necked as their ancestors, who did not trust in the Lord their God.

Они отказались от законов Господа и от соглашения, которое Он заключил с их предками. Они отказались слушать предостережения Господа. Они поклонялись идолам, которые ничего не стоили, и сами перестали чего-либо стоить. Они жили так, как народы вокруг них, несмотря на то, что Господь предупреждал их: "Не делайте так, как они".

They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them, “Do not do as they do.”

Народ перестал следовать всем заповедям Господа, Бога своего. Они сделали себе золотые изображения двух тельцов и столб Ашеры. Они поклонялись всем звёздам небесным и служили Ваалу.

They forsook all the commands of the Lord their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal.

Они приносили на огне в жертву своих сыновей и дочерей. Они занимались гаданием и колдовством. Они предавались тому, что Господь считал злом. Они делали это, чтобы гневить Господа.

They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced divination and sought omens and sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.

И Господь сильно разгневался на израильтян, и отверг их от Себя, и не осталось никого, кроме племени Иуды!

So the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah was left,

И даже народ Иудеи не подчинялся заповедям Господа, Бога своего. Они жили так, как жили израильтяне.

and even Judah did not keep the commands of the Lord their God. They followed the practices Israel had introduced.

Поэтому Господь отверг весь израильский народ. Он принёс им много бед. Он отдавал их в руки грабителям и, наконец, отверг их от Себя с глаз долой.

Therefore the Lord rejected all the people of Israel; he afflicted them and gave them into the hands of plunderers, until he thrust them from his presence.

Когда Господь отделил Израиль от дома Давида, израильтяне сделали Иеровоама, сына Навата, своим царём. Иеровоам увёл израильтян от Господа и ввёл их в великий грех.

When he tore Israel away from the house of David, they made Jeroboam son of Nebat their king. Jeroboam enticed Israel away from following the Lord and caused them to commit a great sin.

Израильтяне следовали всем грехам Иеровоама. Они не переставали совершать эти грехи,

The Israelites persisted in all the sins of Jeroboam and did not turn away from them

пока Господь не отверг их от Себя, как предупреждал через слуг Своих, пророков. И были израильтяне переселены из своей земли в Ассирию, где они и находятся до сегодняшнего дня.

until the Lord removed them from his presence, as he had warned through all his servants the prophets. So the people of Israel were taken from their homeland into exile in Assyria, and they are still there.

Царь Ассирийский увёл израильтян из Самарии. Он привёл народы из Вавилона, и из Куты, и из Аввы, и из Емафа, и из Сепарваима. Он поселил их в городах Самарии вместо израильтян. Они овладели Самарией и стали жить в её городах.

The king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Kuthah, Avva, Hamath and Sepharvaim and settled them in the towns of Samaria to replace the Israelites. They took over Samaria and lived in its towns.

Когда они только начали жить в Самарии, они не чтили Господа, и Господь посылал на них львов, которые их убивали.

When they first lived there, they did not worship the Lord; so he sent lions among them and they killed some of the people.

И сказали царю Ассирийскому: "Люди, которых ты увёл и поселил в городах Самарии, не знают закона Бога этой страны. Бог посылает к ним львов, которые убивают их, потому что они не знают закона Бога этой земли".

It was reported to the king of Assyria: “The people you deported and resettled in the towns of Samaria do not know what the god of that country requires. He has sent lions among them, which are killing them off, because the people do not know what he requires.”

Тогда царь Ассирийский приказал: "Возьмите одного из священников Самарии, которых я взял в плен, и отправьте его обратно в Самарию. Пусть он живёт там и научит людей закону Бога той земли".

Then the king of Assyria gave this order: “Have one of the priests you took captive from Samaria go back to live there and teach the people what the god of the land requires.”

И тогда один из священников, которых выселили из Самарии, пришёл жить в Вефиль. И учил он людей, как чтить Господа.

So one of the priests who had been exiled from Samaria came to live in Bethel and taught them how to worship the Lord.

Но каждый народ сделал своих богов и поставил их на высотах в храмах, которые построили самаряне. Они сделали это в городах, где жили.

Nevertheless, each national group made its own gods in the several towns where they settled, and set them up in the shrines the people of Samaria had made at the high places.

Люди из Вавилона сделали лжебога Суккот-беноф. Кутийцы сделали Нергала. Емафяне сделали Ашиму.

The people from Babylon made Sukkoth Benoth, those from Kuthah made Nergal, and those from Hamath made Ashima;

Аввийцы сделали Нивхаза и Тартака. А люди из Сепарваима сжигали своих детей на огне в жертву Адрамелеху и Анамелеху, богам Сепарваимским.

the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burned their children in the fire as sacrifices to Adrammelek and Anammelek, the gods of Sepharvaim.

Но они поклонялись и Господу. Они выбрали священников для высот из народа, и эти священники служили у них в храмах на высотах.

They worshiped the Lord, but they also appointed all sorts of their own people to officiate for them as priests in the shrines at the high places.

Они почитали Господа, но они также служили своим богам, богам, которым служили в тех странах, откуда они были привезены.

They worshiped the Lord, but they also served their own gods in accordance with the customs of the nations from which they had been brought.

Даже сегодня эти люди соблюдают обычаи, которые соблюдали в прошлом. Они не почитают Господа, и не подчиняются уставам и обрядам, законам и заповедям, которые Господь дал потомкам Иакова, чьё имя Он изменил на Израиль.

To this day they persist in their former practices. They neither worship the Lord nor adhere to the decrees and regulations, the laws and commands that the Lord gave the descendants of Jacob, whom he named Israel.

Господь заключил соглашение с израильским народом. Он приказал им: "Вы не должны почитать других богов. Вы не должны поклоняться им, служить им, или приносить им жертвы.

When the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites, he commanded them: “Do not worship any other gods or bow down to them, serve them or sacrifice to them.

Вы должны следовать только за Господом, Который Своей великой силой вывел вас из земли Египетской. Вы должны прославлять Господа, поклоняться Ему, и Ему приносить жертвы.

But the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt with mighty power and outstretched arm, is the one you must worship. To him you shall bow down and to him offer sacrifices.

Вы всегда должны выполнять уставы и законы, учения и заповеди, которые Он написал для вас. Вы не должны прославлять лжебогов.

You must always be careful to keep the decrees and regulations, the laws and commands he wrote for you. Do not worship other gods.

Не забывайте соглашения, которое Я заключил с вами, и не прославляйте других богов.

Do not forget the covenant I have made with you, and do not worship other gods.

Прославляйте только Господа, Бога вашего! Тогда Он спасёт вас от руки всех ваших врагов".

Rather, worship the Lord your God; it is he who will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.”

Но израильтяне не послушали. Они делали то же, что делали раньше.

They would not listen, however, but persisted in their former practices.

Эти народы прославляли Господа. Но они также служили и своим идолам. И до сего дня их дети и внуки поступают так же, как их предки. Езекия начинает своё правление над Иудеей.

Even while these people were worshiping the Lord, they were serving their idols. To this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their ancestors did.
