For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

Архиерей, определяемый на служение Богу, избирается из людей и приносит дары и жертвы за грехи этих самых людей.

Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

И ему нельзя без снисхождения к несведущим и обольщенным. Он сам подвержен немощи

And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.

И поэтому кладет приношение не только за грехи народа, но и за свои собственные грехи.

And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

Этой чести никто сам себя не удостаивает, а призывается Богом, как некогда Аарон.

So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

И Христа удостоил чести архиерея не Он Сам, а Тот, кто сказал Ему: «Ты Сын Мой. Я ныне родил Тебя».

As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Также и в другом случае Он говорит: «Ты священник навеки по чину Мельхиседека».

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Он в те дни, когда был во плоти, громко взывал и молитву и жалобу со слезами приносил к Тому, кто мог Его спасти. И за Свое смирение был услышан.

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Хоть Он и Сын, однако шел к послушанию через страдания,

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

А достигнув цели, сделался для всех, кто Ему послушен, Творцом вечного спасения,

Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

От Бога титулованным Архиереем по чину Мельхиседека.

Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

Много чего можно еще сказать по этому поводу, но затрудняется толкование, потому что вы сделались к наставлению невосприимчивы.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Вы уже давно сами должны были стать учителями, а оказывается, вас снова нужно учить первым началам Слова Божьего. Что с вами происходит? Вместо взрослой пищи — опять молоко!

For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

Молоком питаются младенцы, но тот, кто без посторонней помощи не видит, где правда, тоже младенец.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

А у зрелых, опытных людей пища взрослая — у них с годами выработывается навык чувствовать и различать добро и зло.
