Finally, dear brothers and sisters,a we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you.

Про́чее, моли́тесѧ ѡ҆ на́съ, бра́тїе, да сло́во гд҇не тече́тъ и҆ сла́витсѧ, ѩ҆́коже и҆ въ ва́съ,

Pray, too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer.

и҆ да и҆зба́вимсѧ ѿ ѕлы́хъ и҆ лѹка́выхъ человѣ҄къ: не всѣ́хъ бо є҆́сть вѣ́ра.

But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.b

Вѣ́ренъ же є҆́сть гд҇ь, и҆́же ѹ҆тверди́тъ ва́съ и҆ сохрани́тъ ѿ лѹка́вагѡ.

And we are confident in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we commanded you.

Ѹ҆пова́емъ же на гд҇а ѡ҆ ва́съ, ѩ҆́кѡ, ѩ҆̀же повелѣва́емъ ва́мъ, и҆ творитѐ и҆ сотворитѐ.

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.

Гд҇ь же да и҆спра́витъ сердца̀ ва҄ша въ любо́вь бж҃їю и҆ въ терпѣ́нїе хр҇то́во.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: Stay away from all believersc who live idle lives and don’t follow the tradition they receivedd from us.

(За҄ 277.) Повелѣва́емъ же ва́мъ, бра́тїе, ѡ҆ и҆́мени гд҇а на́шегѡ ї҆и҃са хр҇та̀, ѿлѹча́тисѧ ва́мъ ѿ всѧ́кагѡ бра́та безчи́ннѡ ходѧ́ща, а҆ не по преда́нїю, є҆́же прїѧ́ша ѿ на́съ:

For you know that you ought to imitate us. We were not idle when we were with you.

са́ми бо вѣ́сте, ка́кѡ лѣ́по є҆́сть ва́мъ подо́битисѧ на́мъ: ѩ҆́кѡ не безчи́нновахомъ ѹ҆ ва́съ,

We never accepted food from anyone without paying for it. We worked hard day and night so we would not be a burden to any of you.

нижѐ тѹ́не хлѣ́бъ ѩ҆до́хомъ ѹ҆ когѡ̀, но въ трѹдѣ̀ и҆ по́двизѣ, но́щь и҆ де́нь дѣ́лающе, да не ѡ҆тѧгчи́мъ никогѡ́же ѿ ва́съ:

We certainly had the right to ask you to feed us, but we wanted to give you an example to follow.

не ѩ҆́кѡ не и҆́мамы вла́сти, но да себѐ ѡ҆́бразъ да́мы ва́мъ, во є҆́же ѹ҆подо́битисѧ на́мъ.

Even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.”

И҆́бо є҆гда̀ бѣ́хомъ ѹ҆ ва́съ, сїѐ завѣщава́хомъ ва́мъ: ѩ҆́кѡ а҆́ще кто̀ не хо́щетъ дѣ́лати нижѐ да ѩ҆́стъ.

Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people’s business.

Слы́шимъ бо нѣ҄кїѧ безчи́ннѡ ходѧ́щыѧ ѹ҆ ва́съ, ничто́же дѣ́лающыѧ, но лѹка́внѡ ѡ҆бходѧ́щыѧ:

We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living.

таковы҄мъ запреща́емъ и҆ мо́лимъ ѡ҆ гд҇ѣ на́шемъ ї҆и҃сѣ хр҇тѣ̀, да съ безмо́лвїемъ дѣ́лающе, сво́й хлѣ́бъ ѩ҆дѧ́тъ.

As for the rest of you, dear brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good.

Вы́ же, бра́тїе, не стѹжа́йте, до́брое творѧ́ще.

Take note of those who refuse to obey what we say in this letter. Stay away from them so they will be ashamed.

А҆́ще же кто̀ не послѹ́шаетъ словесѐ на́шегѡ посла́нїемъ, сего̀ назна́менѹйте и҆ не примѣша́йтесѧ є҆мѹ̀, да посрами́тсѧ:

Don’t think of them as enemies, but warn them as you would a brother or sister.e

и҆ не а҆́ки врага̀ и҆мѣ́йте є҆го̀, но наказѹ́йте ѩ҆́коже бра́та.

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.

Са́мъ же гд҇ь ми́ра да да́стъ ва́мъ ми́ръ всегда̀ во всѧ́цѣмъ ѡ҆́бразѣ: гд҇ь со всѣ́ми ва́ми.

Here is my greeting in my own handwriting — Paul. I do this in all my letters to prove they are from me.

Цѣлова́нїе мое́ю рѹко́ю па́ѵлею, є҆́же є҆́сть зна́менїе во всѧ́цѣмъ посла́нїи, си́це пишѹ̀:

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

блгдть гд҇а на́шегѡ ї҆и҃са хр҇та̀ со всѣ́ми ва́ми. А҆ми́нь.
