Дети мои, я пишу вам, чтобы вы не согрешали. Но если кто из вас и согрешит, то помните, что у нас есть Праведник Иисус Христос, который выступает перед Отцом в нашу защиту.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Он — искупительная жертва за наши грехи, и не только за наши, но и за грехи всего мира.

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

То, что мы узнали Его, мы понимаем из того, что соблюдаем Его заповеди.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

Если кто-то говорит: "Я знаю Его", — но не соблюдает Его заповедей, тот лжец, и истины в нем нет.

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Но если человек послушен Его слову, тогда любовь Божья действительно достигла в нем своей полноты; это и показывает, что мы действительно пребываем в Нем.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Кто заявляет, что Его жизнь в Боге, тот должен и жить так, как жил Иисус.

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Дорогие, я не пишу вам какую-то новую заповедь, заповедь эта известна уже давно, и вы имели ее с самого начала. Эта старая заповедь и есть та весть, которую вы слышали.

Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

И все-таки — это новая заповедь, истинная в Нем и в вас. Мрак рассеивается, и уже светит истинный свет.

Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

Кто заявляет, что живет во свете, но ненавидит своего брата, тот еще во тьме.

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

Но тот, кто любит своего брата, живет во свете, и в нем нет уже ничего, что ведет ко греху.

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

Кто ненавидит своего брата, тот находится во тьме и во тьме ходит, не зная, куда идет, потому что тьма ослепила его.

But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

Я пишу вам, дети, потому что ваши грехи уже прощены ради Его имени.

I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.

Пишу вам, отцы, потому что вы знаете того, кто существует от начала. Пишу вам, юноши, потому что вы победили лукавого.

I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

Я написал вам, дети, потому что вы знаете Отца. Отцы, я написал вам, потому что вы знаете того, кто всегда есть и был с самого начала. Я написал вам, юноши, потому что вы сильны, в вас слово Божье и вы победили лукавого.

I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

Не любите ни этого мира, ни того, что в мире. Кто любит мир, в том нет любви к Отцу,

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

потому что все, что есть в этом мире — это желания плоти, желания глаз и житейская гордость, и это не от Отца, а от мира.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Мир и мирские желания проходят, но тот, кто исполняет Божью волю, живет вечно.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Дети, это время — последнее. Вы слышали, что должен прийти Aнтихрист, и сейчас появилось много антихристов, это говорит нам о том, что время — последнее.

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

Эти антихристы вышли из нашей среды, хоть они никогда к нам не принадлежали. Если бы они действительно принадлежали к нам, то остались бы с нами. То, что они от нас вышли, показывает, что не все те, кто с нами, принадлежат к нам.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Вы получили помазание от Святого, и у всех вас есть знание.

But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

Я пишу вам не потому, что вы не знаете истины, а наоборот, потому, что вы знаете ее и то, что из нее не может произойти никакой лжи.

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

Кто такой лжец? Лжец — тот, кто отвергает, что Иисус — Мессия. Такой человек — антихрист, он отвергает и Отца, и Сына.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

Тот, кто отвергает Сына, не имеет и Отца, а кто признает Сына, тот признает и Отца.

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

Храните слышанное вами от начала. Если то, что вы слышали от начала, будет постоянно в вас, то и вы сами будете в Сыне и в Отце.

Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

Его обещание, которое Он дал нам, — вечная жизнь.

And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

Это я пишу вам относительно тех, кто пытается вас обмануть.

These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

Помазание, которое вы получили от Него, постоянно в вас, и поэтому вам не нужно, чтобы кто-либо учил вас. Его помазание само учит вас всему, оно говорит истину и никогда не лжет. Поэтому, как оно научило вас, так оставайтесь в Нем.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

И теперь, дети, оставайтесь в Нем, чтобы, когда Он явится, мы могли бы стоять перед Ним уверенно и не стыдясь.

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

Если вы знаете, что Он праведен, то знаете и то, что каждый, кто живет праведно, рожден от Него.

If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
