Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Подражайте Богу, как Его любимые дети.

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Живите в любви, как Христос нас полюбил и отдал самого себя за нас, как жертвенное приношение для Бога в приятное благоухание.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

Среди вас ни в коем случае не должно быть разврата, или другой нечистоты, или жадности: это не подобает Божьему народу.

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

В вашей речи не должно быть непристойностей, пустых разговоров или глупых шуток, лучше используйте свой язык для благодарения Богу.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Знайте, что ни один развратный, или порочный, или жадный человек — а это то же самое, что идолопоклонник — не получит наследства в Царстве Бога и Христа.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

И пусть никто вас не обольщает пустыми словами, потому что это вызывает Божий гнев на непокорных.

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

Не имейте ничего общего с такими людьми.

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

Когда-то вы были мраком, но сейчас, когда вы в Господе, вы стали светом. Живите как дети света.

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

А плод света — это всякое благое дело, праведность и истина.

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Старайтесь понять, что приятно Господу.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Не участвуйте в бесплодных делах тьмы, напротив, разоблачайте эти дела.

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

О том, чем такие люди занимаются втайне, даже стыдно говорить.

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Но все тайное при свете становится явным.

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Свет делает все видимым, поэтому и говорится: "Проснись, спящий! Воскресни из мертвых! И Христос осветит тебя".

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Смотрите же внимательно живите не как глупые, но как мудрые.

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Дорожите временем, потому что в эти дни много зла.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Не будьте легкомысленны, а лучше старайтесь понять, в чем заключена воля Господа.

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Не упивайтесь вином, это ведет к распутству. Лучше будьте исполнены Духом.

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Наставляйте друг друга в псалмах, гимнах и духовных песнях. Пойте и прославляйте Господа в ваших сердцах.

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Всегда и за все благодарите Бога Отца во имя нашего Господа Иисуса Христа.

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Подчиняйтесь друг другу из страха перед Христом.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Вы, жены, подчиняйтесь своим мужьям, как Господу.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Ведь муж — глава своей жене, как и Христос — глава и Спаситель Церкви — своего тела.

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

И как Церковь подчиняется Христу, так и жены должны во всем подчиняться своим мужьям.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

A вы, мужья, любите ваших жен так, как Христос полюбил свою Церковь. Он самого себя отдал за нее,

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

чтобы сделать ее святой, чтобы очистить ее омовением в воде через слово,

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

чтобы Ему поставить ее перед собой как славную Церковь, не имеющую пятна или порока, или чего-либо подобного, чтобы она была Церковью святой и непорочной.

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Точно так и мужья должны любить своих жен, любить, как свои собственные тела. Тот, кто любит свою жену, любит и самого себя.

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

Ведь нет такого человека, кто бы ненавидел свое тело, каждый питает свое тело и заботится о нем. Так и Христос заботится о церкви,

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

потому что мы — члены Его тела.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Поэтому: "оставит человек отца и мать и соединится со своей женой. Двое станут одним телом".

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Это великая тайна, но я говорю сейчас в отношении Христа и Церкви.

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

А что касается вас, пусть каждый муж любит свою жену, как самого себя, и жена пусть боится своего мужа.
