«Радуйся, бесплодная! Громче всех ликуй, не рожавшая! Радуйся безмерно, не знавшая мук родовых! У брошенной1 больше будет детей, чем у замужней, — говорит ГОСПОДЬ. —

Exult, thou barren, that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and shout for joy, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith Jehovah.

Сделай шатер свой больше, раздвинь и завесы, не робей: привяжи подлиннее веревки и покрепче вбей колья!

Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.

И вправо, и влево простираться будут земли твои, потомство твое завладеет народами, заселит города разоренные».

For thou shalt spread abroad on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall possess nations, and they shall make desolate cities to be inhabited.

Не бойся, впредь не будешь ты опозорена! Духом не падай, не придется тебе срамиться более! Позор, пережитый в юности, забудешь, о попреках вдовьей поры своей и не вспомнишь,

Fear not, for thou shalt not be ashamed; neither be thou confounded, for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

ведь Супруг твой — Создатель твой, имя Ему — ГОСПОДЬ Воинств, Святой Бог Израилев — Избавитель твой, Богом всей земли Его зовут.

For thy Maker is thy husband: Jehovah of hosts is his name, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: the God of the whole earth shall he be called.

Призывает ГОСПОДЬ тебя, как зовут скорбящую брошенную жену, ту, что вышла замуж в юности, а потом оставлена была, — так говорит Бог твой.

For Jehovah hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and as a wife of youth, that hath been refused, saith thy God.

«Оставил Я тебя на краткое время, но приму обратно, милостями осыпав;

For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

скрыл Я лицо Свое от тебя в пылу гнева на краткое время, но по любви Моей вечной помилую тебя», — говорит ГОСПОДЬ, твой Избавитель.

In the outpouring of wrath have I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting loving-kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith Jehovah, thy Redeemer.

«Это для Меня сродни потопу Ноя: как поклялся Я, что впредь не буду насылать на землю Ноев потоп, так поклялся Я, что не буду гневаться на тебя и порицать тебя.

For this is [as] the waters of Noah unto me, since I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth: so have I sworn that I will no more be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

Горы отступят, холмы поколеблются, но никогда не отступит от тебя любовь Моя неизменная! Мой Союз, Завет о мире для тебя 2 будет непоколебим», — говорит милующий тебя ГОСПОДЬ.

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving-kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed, saith Jehovah, that hath mercy on thee.

Страдалица, как носило тебя бурей, и не было тебе утешения! Но вот теперь мостовые3 твои будут из бирюзы, в основание стен твоих сапфиры положу;

[Thou] afflicted, tossed with tempest, not comforted! Behold, I will set thy stones in antimony, and lay thy foundations with sapphires;

зубцы на стенах городских украшу рубинами, ворота из самоцветов сложу, стены твои будут из драгоценных камней!

and I will make thy battlements of rubies, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of precious stones.

Сам ГОСПОДЬ будет наставлять всех детей твоих, велико будет их благоденствие!

And all thy children [shall be] taught of Jehovah, and great shall be the peace of thy children.

«Праведностью ты утвердишься, никто не будет угнетать тебя,4 и нечего будет бояться, ужас покинет тебя и не коснется уже никогда.

In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near thee.

Если же нападет кто на тебя — не от Меня то будет, и нападающий повержен будет пред тобой.

Behold, they shall surely gather together, [but] not by me: whosoever gathereth together against thee shall fall because of thee.

Смотри, это Я сотворил кузнеца, что раздувает горящие угли, орудия своего ремесла выковывает, и Я же сотворил разорителя — для истребления!

Behold, it is I who have created the smith that bloweth in the fire of coal, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the destroyer to ravage.

Какое бы ни ковали на тебя оружие, не видать никому с ним победы; какой бы язык тебя ни обвинял — переспоришь его на суде. Таков удел слуг ГОСПОДНИХ, и Я Сам оправдаю их», — таково вещее слово ГОСПОДНЕ.

No weapon that is prepared against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that riseth against thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah; and their righteousness is of me, saith Jehovah.
