Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

Дети, ради Господа будьте послушны своим родителям, как того требует закон (Божий):

HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment with a promise),

чти отца своего и мать вот первая заповедь, которая обещает награду:

SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH.

за это тебя ждет благополучие и долголетие на земле;

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

и вы, отцы, не будьте чрезмерно строги к детям своим, но воспитывайте их, наставляя в учении Господнем.

Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ;

Рабы, повинуйтесь господам своим по плоти, от чистого сердца уважая и почитая их как Христа,

not by way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.

без раболепия и угодничества, но как рабы Христовы, от всей души исполняя волю Божью,

With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men,

служа с усердием, как Господу, а не людям,

knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free.

зная, что за совершенное добро Господь тем же воздаст каждому, будь то рабу или свободному;

And masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.

и вы, господа (рабов), умерив строгость, относитесь к ним так же, зная, что у них и у вас на небесах есть Господин, у Которого нет лицеприятия.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

И напоследок: братья мои, возложив надежду на Господа и на могущество силы Его,

Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

облачитесь во все воинские доспехи Божьи, чтобы вы могли устоять против козней диавольских,

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

ибо мы ведем борьбу не против людей, но против невидимых духов злобы: Начал, Властей, правящих в этом мире тьмы,

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

а потому, чтобы вы могли противостоять им в день битвы и, преодолев все (козни), выстоять, наденьте все воинские доспехи Божьи.

Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,

Итак, встаньте и, препоясавшись истиной, облачитесь в кольчугу праведности,

and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;

на ногах укрепите поножи благовестия мира,

in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

но, главное, взяв щит веры, которым вы сможете отразить все горящие стрелы лукавого,

And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

наденьте шлем спасения и, взяв меч духовный, который есть слово Божье,

With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,

постоянно молитесь, вознося духом каждую молитву и прошение, а потому всегда бодрствуйте и неотступно молитесь о всех святых

and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

и обо мне, чтобы мне дана была (сила) слова, и я мог открытыми устами дерзновенно возвещать тайну Евангелия,

for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

ради которого я проповедую в узах, дерзая говорить так, как и должен.

But that you also may know about my circumstances, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make everything known to you.

А чтобы вам стало известно о моих делах и заботах, вам всё расскажет Тихик, возлюбленный брат и верный помощник в Господе,

I have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know about us, and that he may comfort your hearts.

которого я для того и посылаю к вам, чтобы вы узнали о нас, и чтобы он утешил сердца ваши.

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Да дарует вам, братья, Бог-Отец и Господь Иисус Христос мир и любовь с верою!

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.

Да пребудет благодать со всеми, кто неизменно любит Господа нашего Иисуса Христа! Аминь.
