Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord,a for this is the right thing to do.

Дети, будучи в союзе с Господом, вы должны быть послушны своим родителям, поскольку этого требует справедливость.

“Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise:

"Почитай своего отца и свою мать — это первая заповедь, содержащая в себе обещание —

If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”b

и продлятся тогда дни твои в Стране".

Fathers,c do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

Отцы, не раздражайте своих детей и не вызывайте у них негодования, но воспитывайте их, руководствуясь Господней дисциплиной и наставлением.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.

Рабы, повинуйтесь своим земным хозяевам с тем же страхом, трепетом и прямодушием, с которыми вы повинуетесь Мессии.

Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart.

Не повинуйтесь только для того, чтобы заслужить их расположение, лишь когда вы у них на виду, но служите как рабы Мессии, исполняя волю Бога от всей души.

Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Трудитесь усердно, так, словно вы служите не только людям, но и Господу.

Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.

Помните, что тот, кто хорошо трудится, получит награду от Господа, раб он или свободный.

Masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Don’t threaten them; remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and he has no favorites.

Вы же, хозяева, точно так же относитесь к своим рабам. Не используйте угрозы. Помните, что на небесах и у вас, и у них один и тот же Хозяин, а он нелицеприятен.

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Наконец, возрастайте в силе в союзе с Господом, в союзе с его крепостью и могуществом!

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

Используйте доспехи и оружие, данные вам Богом, чтобы вы могли противостоять коварной тактике Противника.

For wed are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Поскольку мы ведём борьбу не против людей, но против правителей, властей и вселенских сил, управляющих этой тьмой, против духовных сил зла в небесных сферах.

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Итак, возьмите всё боевое снаряжение, предоставленное вам Богом, чтобы вы могли дать отпор, когда наступит день зла, и чтобы вы, выиграв битву, могли устоять.

Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.

Потому, стойте! Пусть ваши чресла будут препоясаны истиной, облекитесь праведностью, как бронёй,

For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.e

обуйтесь в готовность нести Добрую Весть о мире.

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.f

всегда держите наготове щит веры, при помощи которого вы сможете отразить все пылающие стрелы Злого.

Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

И возьмите шлем избавления, и меч, данный Духом, то есть Слово Божье;

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.g

во всякое время молясь всевозможными молитвами и прошениями в Духе, неустанно и настойчиво, за весь Божий народ.

And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike.h

Молитесь также за меня, чтобы всякий раз, как я соберусь сказать что-либо, мне были даны слова, чтобы я мог смело провозглашать тайну Доброй Вести,

I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.

ради которой я — посланник в оковах. Молитесь, чтобы я мог говорить со смелостью, как и следует.

To bring you up to date, Tychicus will give you a full report about what I am doing and how I am getting along. He is a beloved brother and faithful helper in the Lord’s work.

Теперь же, для того, чтобы вы могли узнать о том, как я и чем занимаюсь, Тихик, дорогой брат и верный работник для Господа, всё вам расскажет.

I have sent him to you for this very purpose — to let you know how we are doing and to encourage you.

Именно по этой причине я и направил его к вам, чтобы вы могли выяснить, как обстоят наши дела, и чтобы он мог утешить и ободрить вас.

Peace be with you, dear brothers and sisters,i and may God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you love with faithfulness.

Мир братьям. Пусть Бог, Отец, и Господь Мессия Иисус даруют вам любовь и веру.

May God’s grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus Christ.

Пусть благодать будет со всеми, кто любит нашего Господа Мессию Иисуса непреходящей любовью.
