После того как мы закончили строительство стены и дверей для городских ворот, мы выбрали людей, которые должны были охранять ворота. Мы также выбрали людей для исполнения песней в храме и для помощи священникам.

Now when the wall had been built and I had set up the doors, and the gatekeepers, the singers, and the Levites had been appointed,

Затем я поставил моего брата Ханани начальником в Иерусалиме. Я выбрал другого человека по имени Ханания, начальником крепости. Я выбрал его, потому что он был очень честным человеком и боялся Бога больше, чем другие люди.

I gave my brother Hanani and Hananiah the governor of the castle charge over Jerusalem, for he was a more faithful and God-fearing man than many.

Затем я сказал Ханани и Ханании: «Каждый день вы должны ждать несколько часов после восхода солнца, прежде чем открыть ворота Иерусалима. Закрывайте и запирайте ворота ещё до захода солнца. Выберите охранниками людей, которые живут в Иерусалиме, и поставьте некоторых из этих людей охранять город, а некоторых — возле их домов».

And I said to them, “Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot. And while they are still standing guard, let them shut and bar the doors. Appoint guards from among the inhabitants of Jerusalem, some at their guard posts and some in front of their own homes.”

Город был большой и просторный, но в нём было мало людей, и дома ещё не были отстроены.

The city was wide and large, but the people within it were few, and no houses had been rebuilt.

И положил мне Бог мой на сердце собрать вместе весь народ. Затем я созвал вместе всех знатных людей, начальников и простой народ, чтобы провести перепись всех семей. Я нашёл списки людей, которые первыми вернулись из плена. Вот что в них было написано:

Then my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles and the officials and the people to be enrolled by genealogy. And I found the book of the genealogy of those who came up at the first, and I found written in it:

Вот имена людей, вернувшихся из плена. В прошлом Навуходоносор, вавилонский царь, увёл этих людей в плен в Вавилон, но они вернулись в Иерусалим и Иудею. Каждый вернулся в свой город.

These were the people of the province who came up out of the captivity of those exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried into exile. They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his town.

Вот имена людей, которые вернулись с Зоровавелем: Иисус, Неемия, Азария, Раамия, Нахманий, Мардохей, Билшан, Мисфереф, Бигвай, Нехум и Ваана. Вот список имён и количество людей Израиля, которые вернулись:

They came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

Вот семьи певцов: потомков Асафа 148.

The singers: the sons of Asaph, 148.

Вот имена привратников: потомков Селлума, Атера, Талмона, Аккува, Хатиты, Шовая 138.

The gatekeepers: the sons of Shallum, the sons of Ater, the sons of Talmon, the sons of Akkub, the sons of Hatita, the sons of Shobai, 138.

Вот имена особых слуг храма: потомки Цихи, Хасуфы, Таббаофа,

The temple servants: the sons of Ziha, the sons of Hasupha, the sons of Tabbaoth,

Кероса, Сии, Фадона,

the sons of Keros, the sons of Sia, the sons of Padon,

Леваны, Хагавы, Шамлая,

the sons of Lebana, the sons of Hagaba, the sons of Shalmai,

Ханана, Гиддела, Гахара,

the sons of Hanan, the sons of Giddel, the sons of Gahar,

Реаии, Рецина, Некоды,

the sons of Reaiah, the sons of Rezin, the sons of Nekoda,

Вот потомки слуг Соломона: Сотай, Софереф, Ферида,

The sons of Solomon’s servants: the sons of Sotai, the sons of Sophereth, the sons of Perida,

Иаала, Даркон, Гиддел,

the sons of Jaala, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel,

Сафатия, Хаттил, Похереф-Гаццеваим и Амон.

the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the sons of Amon.

Всего потомков служителей храма и слуг Соломона 392.

All the temple servants and the sons of Solomon’s servants were 392.

Некоторые люди пришли в Израиль из городов Телмелах, Тел-Харши, Керув, Аддон и Иммер. Но эти люди не могли доказать, что главы их семей и их потомки были из Израиля:

The following were those who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer, but they could not prove their fathers’ houses nor their descent, whether they belonged to Israel:

потомки Делаии, Товии и Некоды 642.

the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, 642.

Из семьи священников там были следующие потомки: Ховаии, Гаккоца и Верзеллий (он был назван этим именем, потому что он женился на дочери Верзеллия из Галаада).

Also, of the priests: the sons of Hobaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, the sons of Barzillai (who had taken a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name).

Эти люди искали свои семейные летописи, но не могли их найти. Они не могли служить священниками, так как их имена не были включены в список священников.

These sought their registration among those enrolled in the genealogies, but it was not found there, so they were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.

Градоначальник приказал этим людям не есть святую пищу, пока главный священник не использует урим и туммим, чтобы узнать у Бога, что делать в этом случае.

The governor told them that they were not to partake of the most holy food until a priest with Urim and Thummim should arise.

Всех вместе в группе, которая вернулась назад, было сорок две тысячи триста шестьдесят человек,

The whole assembly together was 42,360,

не считая семи тысяч трёхсот тридцати семи рабов и рабынь, принадлежавших им. С ними было ещё двести сорок пять певцов и певиц.

besides their male and female servants, of whom there were 7,337. And they had 245 singers, male and female.

У них было семьсот тридцать шесть лошадей, двести сорок пять ишаков,

Their horses were 736, their mules 245,a

четыреста тридцать пять верблюдов и шесть тысяч семьсот двадцать ослов.

their camels 435, and their donkeys 6,720.

Некоторые главы семей дали деньги, чтобы поддержать строительство. Градоначальник пожертвовал в сокровищницу 1 000 драхм золота. Он также дал пятьдесят чаш и пятьсот тридцать пар одежд для священников.

Now some of the heads of fathers’ houses gave to the work. The governor gave to the treasury 1,000 daricsb of gold, 50 basins, 30 priests’ garments and 500 minasc of silver.d

Главы семей дали в сокровищницу для продолжения работ 20 000 драхм золота и 2 200 мин серебра.

And some of the heads of fathers’ houses gave into the treasury of the work 20,000 darics of gold and 2,200 minas of silver.

И всего вместе остальные люди дали 20 000 драхм золота, 2 000 мин серебра и шестьдесят семь пар одежды для священников.

And what the rest of the people gave was 20,000 darics of gold, 2,000 minas of silver, and 67 priests’ garments.

Так священники, левиты, привратники, певцы, слуги храма и весь народ Израиля стали жить в своих городах. К седьмому месяцу все израильтяне переселились в свои города.

So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the temple servants, and all Israel, lived in their towns. And when the seventh month had come, the people of Israel were in their towns.
