And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.

Прїи́де же ровоа́мъ во ї҆ер҇ли́мъ, и҆ созва̀ (ве́сь) до́мъ ї҆ѹ́динъ и҆ венїамі́нь, сто̀ ѻ҆́смьдесѧтъ ты́сѧщъ и҆збра́нныхъ ю҆́ношей творѧ́щихъ бра́нь, и҆ воева́ше проти́вѹ ї҆и҃лѧ и҆ ї҆еровоа́ма, да ѡ҆брати́тъ къ себѣ̀ ца́рство.

But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

И҆ бы́сть сло́во гд҇не къ саме́ю человѣ́кѹ бж҃їю, гл҃ѧ:

Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,

глаго́ли къ ровоа́мѹ сы́нѹ соломѡ́ню, царю̀ ї҆ѹ́динѹ, и҆ ко всемѹ̀ ї҆и҃лю, и҆́же є҆́сть во ї҆ѹ́дѣ и҆ венїамі́нѣ:

Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

сїѧ҄ речѐ гд҇ь: не восходи́те, нижѐ ѡ҆полча́йтесѧ проти́вѹ бра́тїи ва́шеѧ: возврати́тесѧ кі́йждо въ до́мъ сво́й, занѐ ѿ менє̀ бы́сть гл҃го́лъ се́й. И҆ послѹ́шаша сло́ва гд҇нѧ, и҆ возврати́шасѧ, и҆ не поидо́ша проти́вѹ ї҆еровоа́ма.

And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.

Ѡ҆бита́ же ровоа́мъ во ї҆ер҇ли́мѣ и҆ созда̀ гра́ды стѣна҄ты во ї҆ѹде́и:

He built even Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,

состро́и же виѳлее́мъ и҆ є҆та́мъ, и҆ ѳекѹѐ

And Bethzur, and Shoco, and Adullam,

и҆ веѳсѹ́ръ, и҆ сокхѡ́ѳъ и҆ ѻ҆долла́мъ,

And Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,

и҆ ге́ѳъ и҆ марїса́нъ, и҆ зі́фъ

And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,

и҆ а҆дѹре́мъ, и҆ лахі́съ и҆ а҆зи́кѹ,

And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.

и҆ сала́ю и҆ є҆лѡ́нъ и҆ хеврѡ́нъ, и҆́же є҆́сть ї҆ѹ́динъ и҆ венїамі́нь, гра́ды крѣ҄пкїѧ:

And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.

и҆ ѹ҆крѣпѝ и҆̀хъ стѣна́ми, и҆ поста́ви въ ни́хъ нача́лники, житохрани҄лища, и҆ є҆ле́й и҆ вїно̀,

And in every several city he put shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.

во всѧ́цѣмъ гра́дѣ щиты̀ и҆ ко́пїѧ, и҆ ѹ҆крѣпѝ и҆̀хъ во мно́жествѣ ѕѣлѡ̀, и҆ бы́ста под̾ ни́мъ ї҆ѹ́да и҆ венїамі́нъ.

And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.

Свѧще́нницы же и҆ леѵі́ты, и҆̀же бѧ́хѹ во все́мъ ї҆и҃ли, собра́шасѧ къ немѹ̀ ѿ всѣ́хъ предѣ҄лъ:

For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest's office unto the LORD:

ѩ҆́кѡ ѡ҆ста́виша леѵі́ти селє́нїѧ ѡ҆держа́нїѧ своегѡ̀ и҆ поидо́ша ко ї҆ѹ́дѣ во ї҆ер҇ли́мъ, поне́же и҆згна̀ и҆̀хъ ї҆еровоа́мъ и҆ сы́нове є҆гѡ̀, є҆́же не слѹжи́ти гд҇еви:

And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.

и҆ поста́ви себѣ̀ жерцы̀ на высо́кихъ, и҆ їдѡлѡмъ, и҆ сѹ́єтнымъ, и҆ телцє́мъ, и҆̀хже сотворѝ ї҆еровоа́мъ.

And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORD God of their fathers.

И҆ и҆згна̀ и҆̀хъ ѿ всѣ́хъ колѣ́нъ ї҆и҃левыхъ, и҆̀же вда́ша се́рдце своѐ, да взы́щѹтъ гд҇а бг҃а ї҆и҃лева: и҆ прїидо́ша во ї҆ер҇ли́мъ пожре́ти гд҇ѹ бг҃ѹ ѻ҆тє́цъ свои́хъ:

So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.

и҆ ѹ҆крѣпи́ша ца́рство ї҆ѹ́дино. И҆ ѹ҆крѣпи́сѧ ровоа́мъ сы́нъ соломѡ́нь въ трѝ лѣ҄та, хожда́ше бо по пѹтє́мъ даві́да и҆ соломѡ́на ѻ҆тца̀ своегѡ̀ лѣ҄та трѝ.

And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;

И҆ взѧ̀ себѣ̀ ровоа́мъ женѹ̀ моола́ѳѹ, дще́рь ї҆ерїмѡ́ѳа сы́на даві́дова, и҆ а҆вїге́ю дще́рь є҆лїа́ва сы́на ї҆ессе́ова.

Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.

И҆ родѝ є҆мѹ̀ сы́ны: ї҆еѹ́са и҆ саморі́а и҆ заа́ма.

And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.

По си́хъ же поѧ̀ себѣ̀ маа́хѹ дще́рь а҆вессалѡ́млю, и҆ родѝ є҆мѹ̀ а҆ві́ю и҆ ї҆еѳѳі́а, и҆ зі́зѹ и҆ салимѡ́ѳа.

And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)

И҆ возлюбѝ ровоа́мъ маа́хѹ дще́рь а҆вессалѡ́млю па́че всѣ́хъ же́нъ свои́хъ и҆ подло́жницъ свои́хъ, ѩ҆́кѡ же́нъ ѻ҆смьна́десѧть и҆мѣ̀ и҆ подло́жницъ шестьдесѧ́тъ: и҆ родѝ два́десѧть ѻ҆́смь сынѡ́въ и҆ шестьдесѧ́тъ дще́рей.

And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.

И҆ поста́ви въ нача́лника ровоа́мъ а҆ві́ю сы́на маа́хина и҆ кнѧ́земъ над̾ все́ю бра́тїею є҆гѡ̀, того̀ бо и҆ царе́мъ сотвори́ти помышлѧ́ше.

And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.

И҆ возрастѐ па́че всѣ́хъ бра́тїй свои́хъ во всѣ́хъ предѣ́лѣхъ ї҆ѹ́диныхъ и҆ венїамі́нихъ и҆ во градѣ́хъ крѣ́пкихъ, и҆ дадѐ и҆̀мъ пи́щи мно́жество мно́го, и҆ мно́гихъ взыска̀ же́нъ.
