The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

При҄тчи соломѡ́на сы́на даві́дова, и҆́же ца́рствова во ї҆и҃ли,

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

позна́ти премѹ́дрость и҆ наказа́нїе и҆ ѹ҆разѹмѣ́ти словеса̀ мѹ́дрости,

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

прїѧ́ти же и҆зви҄тїѧ слове́съ и҆ разрѣшє́нїѧ гада́нїй, ѹ҆разѹмѣ́ти же пра́вдѹ и҆́стиннѹю и҆ сѹ́дъ и҆справлѧ́ти:

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

да да́стъ неѕлѡ́бивымъ кова́рство, ѻ҆троча́ти же ю҆́нѹ чѹ́вство же и҆ смы́слъ.

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

Си́хъ бо послѹ́шавъ, мѹ́дрый премѹ́дрѣе бѹ́детъ, а҆ разѹ́мный строи́телство стѧ́жетъ:

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

ѹ҆разѹмѣ́етъ же при́тчѹ и҆ те́мное сло́во, рѣчє́нїѧ же премѹ́дрыхъ и҆ гада҄нїѧ.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Нача́ло премѹ́дрости стра́хъ гд҇ень, ра́зѹмъ же бла́гъ всѣ҄мъ творѧ́щымъ є҆го̀: бл҃гоче́стїе же въ бг҃а нача́ло чѹ́вства, премѹ́дрость же и҆ наказа́нїе нечести́вїи ѹ҆ничижа́тъ.

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Слы́ши, сы́не, наказа́нїе ѻ҆тца̀ твоегѡ̀ и҆ не ѿри́ни завѣ́тѡвъ ма́тере твоеѧ̀:

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

вѣне́цъ бо благода́тей прїи́меши на твое́мъ версѣ̀ и҆ гри́внѹ зла́тѹ ѡ҆ твое́й вы́и.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

Сы́не, да не прельстѧ́тъ тебѐ мѹ́жїе нечести́вїи, нижѐ да восхо́щеши,

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

а҆́ще помо́лѧтъ тѧ̀, глаго́люще: и҆дѝ съ на́ми, приѡбщи́сѧ кро́ве, скры́емъ же въ зе́млю мѹ́жа првдна непра́веднѡ:

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

пожре́мъ же є҆го̀ ѩ҆́коже а҆́дъ жи́ва, и҆ во́змемъ па́мѧть є҆гѡ̀ ѿ землѝ,

We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

стѧжа́нїе є҆гѡ̀ многоцѣ́нное прїи́мемъ, и҆спо́лнимъ же до́мы на́шѧ коры́стей:

Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

жре́бїй же тво́й положѝ съ на́ми: ѻ҆́бще же влага́лище стѧ́жемъ всѝ, и҆ мѣше́цъ є҆ди́нъ да бѹ́детъ всѣ҄мъ на́мъ.

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

Не и҆дѝ въ пѹ́ть съ ни́ми: ѹ҆клони́ же но́гѹ твою̀ ѿ сте́зь и҆́хъ:

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

но́зѣ бо и҆́хъ на ѕло̀ текѹ́тъ, и҆ ско́ри сѹ́ть и҆злїѧ́ти кро́вь.

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

Не без̾ пра́вды бо простира́ютсѧ мрє́жи перна҄тымъ:

And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

ті́и бо ѹ҆бі́йствѹ приѡбща́ющесѧ, сокро́вищствѹютъ себѣ̀ ѕла҄ѧ: разрѹше́нїе же мѹже́й законопрестѹ́пныхъ ѕло̀.

So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

Сі́и пѹтїѐ сѹ́ть всѣ́хъ творѧ́щихъ беззакѡ́ннаѧ: нече́стїемъ бо свою̀ дѹ́шѹ ѿе́млютъ.

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

Премѹ́дрость во и҆схо́дѣхъ пое́тсѧ, въ сто́гнахъ же дерзнове́нїе во́дитъ,

She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

на кра́ехъ же стѣ́нъ проповѣ́дѹетсѧ, ѹ҆ вра́тъ же си́льныхъ присѣди́тъ, во вратѣ́хъ же гра́да дерза́ющи глаго́летъ:

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

є҆ли́ко ѹ҆́бѡ вре́мѧ неѕло́бивїи держа́тсѧ пра́вды, не постыдѧ́тсѧ: безѹ́мнїи же доса́ды сѹ́ще жела́телїе, нечести́вїи бы́вше, возненави́дѣша чѹ́вство

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

и҆ пови́нни бы́ша ѡ҆бличе́нїємъ. Сѐ, предложѹ̀ ва́мъ моегѡ̀ дыха́нїѧ рѣче́нїе, наѹчѹ́ же ва́съ моемѹ̀ словесѝ.

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

Поне́же зва́хъ, и҆ не послѹ́шасте, и҆ простира́хъ словеса̀, и҆ не внима́сте,

But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

но ѿмета́сте моѧ҄ совѣ́ты и҆ мои҄мъ ѡ҆бличе́нїємъ не внима́сте:

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

ѹ҆̀бо и҆ а҆́зъ ва́шей поги́бели посмѣю́сѧ, пора́дѹюсѧ же, є҆гда̀ прїи́детъ ва́мъ па́гѹба,

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

и҆ є҆гда̀ прїи́детъ на вы̀ внеза́пѹ мѧте́жъ, низвраще́нїе же подо́бно бѹ́ри прїи́детъ, и҆лѝ є҆гда̀ прїи́детъ ва́мъ печа́ль и҆ градоразоре́нїе, и҆лѝ є҆гда̀ на́йдетъ на вы̀ па́гѹба.

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Бѹ́детъ бо є҆гда̀ призове́те мѧ̀, а҆́зъ же не послѹ́шаю ва́съ: взы́щѹтъ менѐ ѕлі́и и҆ не ѡ҆брѧ́щѹтъ.

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

Возненави́дѣша бо премѹ́дрость, словесе́ же гд҇нѧ не прїѧ́ша:

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

нижѐ хотѣ́ша внима́ти мои҄мъ совѣ́тѡмъ, рѹга́хѹсѧ же мои҄мъ ѡ҆бличе́нїємъ.

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Тѣ́мже снѣдѧ́тъ свои́хъ пѹті́й плоды̀ и҆ своегѡ̀ нече́стїѧ насы́тѧтсѧ:

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

и҆́бо, занѐ ѡ҆би́дѣша младе́нцєвъ, ѹ҆бїе́ни бѹ́дѹтъ, и҆ и҆стѧза́нїе нечести҄выѧ погѹби́тъ.

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Мене́ же слѹ́шаѧй всели́тсѧ на ѹ҆пова́нїи и҆ почі́етъ без̾ стра́ха ѿ всѧ́кагѡ ѕла̀.
