And so, dear brothers and sisters who belong to God anda are partners with those called to heaven, think carefully about this Jesus whom we declare to be God’s messengerb and High Priest.

Ваша святость, братья, — от причастности к небесному призванию. Стало быть, обратите взоры на Посланника и Архиерея нашего исповедания, Иисуса,

For he was faithful to God, who appointed him, just as Moses served faithfully when he was entrusted with God’s entirec house.

На Его верность Тому, кто Его на это поставил. В Божьем доме такая верность была еще только у Моисея.

But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself.

Но славы Иисусу выходит больше, чем Моисею, как и больше чести достается не дому, а строителю дома.

For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.

У каждого дома есть свой строитель. А строитель мироздания — Бог.

Moses was certainly faithful in God’s house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later.

Моисей был один на всех в Божьем доме верный слуга. Его делом было — свидетельство о том, чему еще предстояло быть сказанным.

But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.d

А Христос в Божьем доме — верный Сын во главе дома. Его дом — это мы сами. Давайте же не побоимся увидеть в Нем счастливую надежду.

That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear his voice,

Об этом говорит Святой Дух: «Слушайте Его голос! Сегодня

don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness.

Не будьте упрямы, как в пору смуты, в день испытания в пустыне,

There your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years.

Где разбирались со Мной ваши отцы, глаз с Меня не спускали. Сорок лет взирали на Мои дела, а что толку!

So I was angry with them, and I said, ‘Their hearts always turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’

Раздосадовало Меня их племя, и Я сказал: “Никогда ни с чем не согласны. Все делают Мне наперекор.”

So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.’”e

Поклялся Я в гневе: не допущу их к Моему покою!».

Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters.f Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.

Смотрите, братья, чтобы у кого-нибудь из вас не было в душе порчи и неверия, отказа от Бога Живого.

You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.

Наставляйте друг друга все эти дни, пока еще можно сказать о них «сегодня». Не будьте упрямы, не обманывайтесь прелестью греха.

For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.

Мы Христу сделались свои. Давайте же до конца бережно сохраним начавшуюся нашу причастность.

Remember what it says: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.”g

Как сказано: «Слушайте Его голос! Сегодня не будьте упрямы, как в пору смуты...».

And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt?

Но кто это был? Кто учинил смуту, хотя и слышал голос? Не касается ли это всех и каждого, кто шел из Египта с Моисеем?

And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness?

На кого все сорок лет гневался Бог? Не на тех ли, кто согрешил? Они и сложили свои кости в пустыне.

And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him?

И кого поклялся не допустить к Своему покою, если не строптивых?

So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.

Мы видим, что доступа им не было за неверие.
