Снова израильтяне стали творить зло пред ГОСПОДОМ, и Он предал их в руки филистимлян на сорок лет.

And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of Jehovah; and Jehovah gave them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

Жил тогда в Цоре один человек из колена Дана, по имени Маноах. Жена его была бесплодна — не могла она родить.

And there was a certain man of Zoreah, of the family of the Danites, and his name was Manoah. And his wife was barren and did not bear.

Явился этой женщине ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ и возвестил ей: «Ты бесплодна и родить не можешь, но теперь понесешь ты и родишь сына.

And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to the woman, and said to her, Behold now, thou art barren and bearest not; but thou shalt conceive and bear a son.

Смотри, не пей ни вина, ничего хмельного и не ешь нечистой пищи.

And now beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat nothing unclean.

Понесешь ты и родишь сына. Да не коснется бритва головы его, ибо мальчик с рождения1 будет назореем Божьим.2 И он станет защищать3 Израиль от филистимлян».

For lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son, and no razor shall come on his head; for the boy shall be a Nazarite of God from the womb; and he shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

Женщина пошла к своему мужу и рассказала ему: «Приходил ко мне человек Божий, с виду как ангел Божий, трепет внушающий. Я не спросила его, откуда он, имени своего он мне не назвал.

And the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came to me, and his appearance was like the appearance of an angel of God, very terrible; but I did not ask him whence he was, neither did he tell me his name.

Сказал он мне: „Ты понесешь и родишь сына. Не пей ни вина, ни хмельных напитков и нечистой пищи не ешь, ибо мальчик будет назореем Божьим с рождения и до самой смерти“».

And he said to me, Behold, thou shalt conceive and bear a son; and now drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not anything unclean; for the boy shall be a Nazarite of God from the womb to the day of his death.

Маноах обратился к ГОСПОДУ с молитвой: «Прошу Тебя, Владыка, пусть тот человек Божий, посланник Твой, вновь придет к нам и научит, как поступать с мальчиком, когда он родится».

Then Manoah prayed to Jehovah, and said, Ah Lord! let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, I pray thee, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.

Бог услышал просьбу Маноаха, и ангел Божий вновь пришел к женщине, когда она была в поле, а мужа ее, Маноаха, с ней не было.

And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the Angel of God came again to the woman whilst she sat in the field; but Manoah her husband was not with her.

Женщина поспешила к мужу и сообщила ему: « Снова явился тот человек, что приходил прежде!»

Then the woman hasted and ran, and informed her husband, and said to him, Behold, the man has appeared to me, that came to me that day.

Маноах встал и пошел вслед за женой. Придя в поле, он подошел к посланнику и спросил его: «Ты ли прежде говорил с моей женой?» Тот ответил: «Я».

And Manoah rose up and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, Art thou the man that didst speak to the woman? And he said, I am.

Маноах сказал: «Если исполнится твое слово, что ты велишь о мальчике — как нам поступать?»

And Manoah said, When thy words then come to pass, what shall be the child's manner and his doing?

Ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ ответил Маноаху: «Пусть твоя жена воздерживается от всего, что я ей назвал:

And the Angel of Jehovah said to Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware:

не ест ничего из того, что растет на виноградной лозе, не пьет ни вина, ни хмельного напитка и не ест ничего нечистого. Пусть она исполнит все мои указания!»

she shall not eat of anything that cometh of the vine, neither shall she drink wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean: all that I commanded her shall she observe.

Маноах ответил ангелу ГОСПОДНЮ: «Прошу тебя, побудь с нами, а мы приготовим тебе козленка».

And Manoah said to the Angel of Jehovah, I pray thee, let us detain thee, and we will make ready a kid of the goats for thee.

Но ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ сказал Маноаху: «Даже если я останусь с тобой, есть твою еду я не стану. А всесожжение ГОСПОДУ ты можешь совершить». Не знал Маноах, что это был ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ.

And the Angel of Jehovah said to Manoah, Though thou shouldest detain me, I will not eat of thy bread; and if thou wilt offer a burnt-offering, thou shalt offer it up to Jehovah. For Manoah knew not that he was the Angel of Jehovah.

И Маноах спросил ангела ГОСПОДНЯ: «Как твое имя? Когда сбудется твое слово, мы прославим тебя!»

And Manoah said to the Angel of Jehovah, What is thy name, that when thy word cometh to pass we may do thee honour?

Но ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ ответил ему: «Зачем ты спрашиваешь об имени моем? Оно чудесно!»4

And the Angel of Jehovah said to him, How is it that thou askest after my name, seeing it is wonderful?

Маноах взял козленка и хлебный дар, принес жертву ГОСПОДУ на камне — и Господь сотворил чудо, которое видели только Маноах и его жена.

Then Manoah took the kid and the oblation, and offered it up to Jehovah upon the rock. And he did wondrously, and Manoah and his wife looked on.

Когда на жертвеннике разгорелся огонь, то ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ поднялся к небу в пламени огня. Маноах и жена его увидели это и пали ниц.

And it came to pass, as the flame went up from off the altar towards the heavens, that the Angel of Jehovah ascended in the flame of the altar; and Manoah and his wife looked on, and fell on their faces to the ground.

И когда ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ стал уже невидим Маноаху и его жене, Маноах понял, что это был ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ.

And the Angel of Jehovah appeared no more to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that it was the Angel of Jehovah.

Маноах сказал жене: «Нас ждет смерть, ведь мы видели Бога!»

And Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

Но жена ответила ему: «Если бы ГОСПОДЬ пожелал нас умертвить, то не принял бы от нас жертвы и хлебного дара, не явил бы нам ничего подобного и не заповедал бы нам всё это!»

But his wife said to him, If Jehovah were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt-offering and an oblation at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would he at this time have told us [such things] as these.

И женщина понесла и родила сына и назвала его Самсоном. И он возмужал, и ГОСПОДЬ благословил его.

And the woman bore a son, and called his name Samson. And the child grew, and Jehovah blessed him.

И Дух ГОСПОДЕНЬ нисходил5 на Самсона в Стане Дана6 между Цорой и Эштаолом.

And the Spirit of Jehovah began to move him at Mahaneh-Dan, between Zoreah and Eshtaol.
