I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Перед Богом и Христом Иисусом, Который будет судить живых и мертвых, когда явится установить Свое Царство, заклинаю тебя:

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

проповедуй это Слово настойчиво, при всяком удобном и неудобном случае, и будь терпеливым учителем: обличай, упрекай, призывай!

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Ведь придет время, когда здравого учения не станут держаться, а будут созывать каких попало учителей себе по вкусу, лишь бы услышать приятное.

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Да, люди перестанут слушать истину и обратятся к басням.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Но ты всегда будь трезв и в страданиях терпелив, трудолюбиво возвещай Евангелие, исполняй свое служение.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

А я уже возложенная на алтарь жертва, настал час моего ухода.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Я славно боролся, завершил свой забег и веру сберег.

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Теперь готов для меня венец праведности, и в назначенный день вручит мне его Господь, праведный судья — и не только мне, но и всем, кто любит Его и ждет Его пришествия.

Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

Постарайся прийти ко мне поскорей.

For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

Ведь Демас меня оставил: он предпочел нынешний мир и отправился в Фессалонику. Крес ушел в Галатию, Тит — в Далмацию.

Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

Со мной один Лука. Возьми с собой и приведи Марка, он пригодится мне для служения.

And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.

А Тихика я отослал в Эфес.

The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.

Когда придешь, захвати с собой плащ, который я оставил в Троаде у Карпа, и книги, особенно те, что на пергаменте.

Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

Медник Александр причинил мне много вреда — воздаст ему Господь по его делам.

Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

Остерегайся его и ты, он очень противился нашей проповеди.

At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

Когда в суде я в первый раз говорил в свою защиту, со мной не было никого, все оставили меня — да не спросится с них за это!

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

Но со мной был Господь, Он придавал мне сил, чтобы Его весть прозвучала из моих уст и услышали ее все народы — и так я был вырван из львиной пасти.

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Господь избавит меня от всякого злодейства и спасет для своего Царства на небесах — слава Ему во веки веков, аминь!

Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.

Приветствуй Приску, Акилу и домашних Онесифора.

Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.

Эраст остался в Коринфе, а Трофима я оставил больного в Милете.

Do thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.

Постарайся прийти до зимы! Приветствуют тебя Эвбул, Пуд, Лин и Клавдия, и с ними все братья.

The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen. {The second epistle unto Timotheus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Ephesians, was written from Rome, when Paul was brought before Nero the second time.}

Господь да пребудет с духом твоим, благодать со всеми вами!
