In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

В начале было Слово. Слово было подле Бога и Богом было Само Слово.

The same was in the beginning with God.

Оно изначально было подле Бога.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Всё возникло через Него, и нет ничего, что возникло бы помимо Него. Что возникло

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

в Нем, было Жизнью, и Жизнь была для людей светом.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

И Свет во тьме светит, и тьма Его не объяла.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

Явился человек — его послал Бог, а имя ему Иоанн.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

Он пришел как свидетель — свидетельствовать о Свете, чтобы все поверили благодаря ему.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Сам он не был светом, он лишь пришел свидетельствовать о Нем.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

А Свет был истинным — Он освещает всякого человека — и Он приходил в этот мир.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Он был в этом мире, и сам мир возник благодаря Ему, но мир Его не принял.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Он пришел к своим, но свои Его не приняли.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

А тем, кто Его принял, Он дал возможность стать Божьими детьми — тем, кто поверил в Его имя.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Ведь они не от плоти и крови и не от мужского желания, но от Бога получили рождение.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

И Слово стало плотью и обитало среди нас. Мы видели Его славу — единородного Отчего Сына, полного благодати и истины.

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

О Нем свидетельствует Иоанн. Он провозгласил:— Он идет следом за мной, но стоит выше меня, ибо прежде меня возник.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Чем Он полон — тем наделил и всех нас, благодать вслед за благодатью.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Закон был дан через Моисея, а благодать и истина открыты через Иисуса Христа.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Бога никто никогда не видел, но Единородный Сын, Которого обнимает Отец — вот Кто нам Бога явил.

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

Вот свидетельство Иоанна: иудеи отправили к нему священников и левитов из Иерусалима с одним вопросом: «Кто ты?»

And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

Он объявил им открыто, не ушел от ответа, но объявил:— Я не Христос.

And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

Они переспросили:— А кто? Ты Илия?Он сказал:— Нет.— Тогда пророк?— Нет, — ответил он.

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

— Так кто же ты? — переспросили они, — Какой ответ нам дать тем, кто нас сюда послал? Кем ты себя считаешь?

He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

— Я голос, что взывает в пустыне: «Проложите для Господа прямую дорогу!», — как сказал пророк Исайя.

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

Те, кого к нему отправили, были из числа фарисеев.

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

Тогда они спросили его:— Почему же ты совершаешь обряд крещения, если ты не Христос, не Илия и не пророк?

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

Иоанн им ответил:— Я крещу, омывая водой. Есть среди вас Тот, Кого вы не знаете,

He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

Он приходит вслед за мной и я недостоин развязать ремешок на Его сандалиях.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Это было в Вифании по ту сторону Иордана, где Иоанн совершал крещение.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

И вот на следующий день Иоанн видит, как к нему подходит Иисус. Иоанн говорит:— Вот агнец Божий, Он берет на себя грех всего мира.

This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Вот о Ком я сказал: «Он идет следом за мной, но стоит выше меня, ибо был прежде меня».

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

Я сам Его прежде не знал, но для того и стал совершать крещение, чтобы Он был явлен Израилю.

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

Вот как свидетельствовал Иоанн:— Я видел, как Дух, словно голубь, спустился с неба и остался на Нем.

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

Я сам Его прежде не знал, но Тот, Кто послал меня крестить, омывая водой — Он мне сказал: «Когда увидишь, как сходит Дух и остается на ком-то — знай, что Этот Человек и будет крестить, омывая Духом святым».

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Я это увидел и засвидетельствовал, что Он — Сын Божий.

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

На следующий день Иоанн стоял там же, а с ним двое из его учеников.

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

Иоанн видит, как мимо проходит Иисус, и говорит:— Вот Агнец Божий!

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Двое учеников услышали эти слова и пошли вслед за Иисусом.

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

Иисус оборачивается, видит, что они идут следом, и спрашивает их:— Чего вы ищете?Они ему ответили:— Равви (что в переводе означает «учитель»), где ты живешь?

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

Он им говорит:— Идем, увидите сами.Те пошли и увидели, где Он живет, и оставались у Него до конца дня (часа два оставалось до заката).

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

Одним из двух учеников Иоанна, которые услышали его слова и пошли за Иисусом, был Андрей, брат Симона Петра.

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

Прежде всего он находит своего брата Симона и говорит ему:— Мы нашли Мессию (что в переводе означает «Христа»)!

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Андрей отвел его к Иисусу, Иисус, взглянув на него, сказал:— Ты Симон, сын Иоанна. Но имя тебе будет Кифа (что переводится как «Петр»).

The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

На следующий день Иисус решил отправиться в Галилею. Иисус находит Филиппа и говорит ему:— Иди за Мной!

Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

А Филипп был из Вифсаиды, из того же селения, что и Андрей с Петром.

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Филипп находит Нафанаила и говорит ему:— Того, о Ком писал и Моисей в своем законе, и пророки — мы Его нашли, это Иисус, сын Иосифа, из Назарета.

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

Нафанаил ему сказал:— Что хорошего может быть из Назарета?Отвечает ему Филипп:— Ступай, посмотри сам.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

Иисус увидел, что к Нему подходит Нафанаил, и говорит о нем:— Воистину, вот израильтянин, в котором нет ни тени лукавства!

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

Говорит ему Нафанаил:— Откуда Ты меня знаешь?Иисус ему на это сказал:— Еще прежде, чем Филипп к тебе обратился, Я видел тебя под смоковницей.

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

Ответил Ему Нафанаил:— Равви, Ты Сын Божий, Ты Царь Израиля!

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

Иисус ему на это сказал:— Я тебе сказал, что видел тебя под смоковницей — и поэтому ты веришь. Но ты увидишь намного больше того!

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

И говорит ему:— Аминь, аминь говорю вам: увидите, как раскрылось небо и ангелы Божьи нисходят к Сыну Человеческому и восходят обратно.
