And after six days Jesus takes with [him] Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart.

Через шесть дней Иисус взял с собой Петра, Иакова, его брата Иоанна и пошел на высокую гору.

And he was transfigured before them. And his face shone as the sun, and his garments became white as the light;

На горе Он вдруг преобразился перед ними: лицо Его засияло как солнце, а одежда стала белой как свет.

and lo, Moses and Elias appeared to them talking with him.

Ученики вдруг увидели Моисея и Илию, беседующих с Иисусом.

And Peter answering said to Jesus, Lord, it is good we should be here. If thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles: for thee one, and for Moses one, and one for Elias.

Петр воскликнул: — Господи! Как нам здесь хорошо! Если Ты хочешь, я построю три шалаша — один Тебе, один Моисею и один Илие!

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I have found my delight: hear him.

Пока он говорил, их покрыло светлое облако и из облака прозвучал голос: — Это Мой любимый Сын, в Нем исполнение Моей доброй воли. Слушайте Его!

And the disciples hearing [it] fell upon their faces, and were greatly terrified.

Услышав эти слова, ученики в ужасе упали лицом вниз.

And Jesus coming to [them] touched them, and said, Rise up, and be not terrified.

Иисус подошел и прикоснулся к ним: — Не бойтесь, встаньте.

And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus alone.

Они подняли взгляд и уже никого, кроме Иисуса, не увидели.

And as they descended from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no one, until the Son of man be risen up from among [the] dead.

Когда они спускались с горы, Иисус сказал им: — Никому не говорите о том, что вы видели здесь, до тех пор, пока Сын Человеческий не воскреснет из мертвых.

And [his] disciples demanded of him saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first have come?

Ученики спросили Его: — Почему же учителя закона говорят, что прежде должен прийти Илия?

And he answering said to them, Elias indeed comes first and will restore all things.

Иисус ответил: — Илия действительно должен прийти и все приготовить.

But I say unto you that Elias has already come, and they have not known him, but have done unto him whatever they would. Thus also the Son of man is about to suffer from them.

Но говорю вам, Илия уже пришел, только его не узнали и поступили с ним по своему произволу. Так же и Сыну Человеческому предстоит пострадать от их рук.

Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the baptist.

Тогда ученики поняли, что Он говорил об Иоанне Крестителе.

And when they came to the crowd, a man came to him, falling on his knees before him, and saying,

Когда они вернулись туда, где их дожидался народ, один мужчина упал перед Иисусом на колени со словами:

Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is lunatic, and suffers sorely; for often he falls into the fire and often into the water.

— Господи, сжалься над моим сыном, у него бывают припадки, и он сильно мучается, часто падает то в огонь, то в воду.

And I brought him to thy disciples, and they were not able to heal him.

Я привел его к Твоим ученикам, но они не смогли исцелить его.

And Jesus answering said, O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to me.

Иисус воскликнул: — Какой же вы неверующий и развращенный народ! Сколько Мне еще быть с вами? Сколько Мне еще терпеть вас? Приведите мальчика ко Мне.

And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon went out from him, and the boy was healed from that hour.

Иисус запретил демону, и тот вышел из мальчика; в тот же миг ребенок стал совершенно здоров.

Then the disciples, coming to Jesus apart, said [to him], Why were not we able to cast him out?

Потом, оставшись с Иисусом наедине, ученики спросили: — Почему же мы не могли изгнать демона?

And he says to them, Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard [seed], ye shall say to this mountain, Be transported hence there, and it shall transport itself; and nothing shall be impossible to you.

Иисус ответил: — Потому что у вас мало веры. Говорю вам по правде: если бы ваша вера была величиной хоть с горчичное зерно, то вы могли бы этой горе сказать: "Передвинься отсюда туда", — и она бы передвинулась; для вас не было бы ничего невозможного.

But this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting.

And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is about to be delivered up into [the] hands of men,

Когда они были вместе в Галилее, Иисус сказал ученикам: — Сын Человеческий будет предан в руки людей.

and they shall kill him; and the third day he shall be raised up. And they were greatly grieved.

Они убьют Его, но на третий день Он воскреснет. Учеников это сильно опечалило.

And when they came to Capernaum, those who received the didrachmas came to Peter and said, Does your teacher not pay the didrachmas?

Когда они вернулись в Капернаум, к Петру подошли сборщики налога на нужды храма и спросили: — A ваш Учитель платит налог на храм?

He says, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What dost thou think, Simon? the kings of the earth, from whom do they receive custom or tribute? from their own sons or from strangers?

— Платит, — ответил он. Когда Петр вошел в дом и еще не успел ничего сказать, Иисус спросил: — Симон, как тебе кажется, с кого земные цари собирают пошлины и налоги, со своих сыновей или с чужих людей?

Peter says to him, From strangers. Jesus said to him, Then are the sons free.

— С чужих, — ответил Петр. — Значит, сыновья свободны от налогов, — заключил Иисус.

But that we may not be an offence to them, go to the sea and cast a hook, and take the first fish that comes up, and when thou hast opened its mouth thou wilt find a stater; take that and give it to them for me and thee.

— Но чтобы нам никого не обидеть, пойди к озеру, забрось удочку, вытащи первую рыбу, что попадется на крючок, открой ей рот, и там ты найдешь монету достоинством в четыре драхмы. Возьми ее и заплати за Меня и за себя.
