The angel of the LORD went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said to the Israelites, “I brought you out of Egypt into this land that I swore to give your ancestors, and I said I would never break my covenant with you.

И пришёл А́нгел Госпо́день из Галга́ла в Бохи́м и сказа́л: Я вы́вел вас из Еги́пта и ввёл вас в зе́млю, о кото́рой кля́лся отца́м ва́шим дать вам, и сказа́л Я: «не нару́шу заве́та Моего́ с ва́ми вове́к;

For your part, you were not to make any covenants with the people living in this land; instead, you were to destroy their altars. But you disobeyed my command. Why did you do this?

и вы не вступа́йте в сою́з с жи́телями земли́ сей; же́ртвенники их разру́шьте». Но вы не послу́шали гла́са Моего́. Что вы э́то сде́лали?

So now I declare that I will no longer drive out the people living in your land. They will be thorns in your sides,a and their gods will be a constant temptation to you.”

И потому́ говорю́ Я: не изгоню́ их от вас, и бу́дут они́ вам петлёю, и бо́ги их бу́дут для вас се́тью.

When the angel of the LORD finished speaking to all the Israelites, the people wept loudly.

Когда́ А́нгел Госпо́день сказа́л слова́ сии́ всем сына́м Изра́илевым, то наро́д подня́л гро́мкий вопль и запла́кал.

So they called the place Bokim (which means “weeping”), and they offered sacrifices there to the LORD.

От сего́ и называ́ют то ме́сто Бохи́м. Там принесли́ они́ же́ртву Го́споду.

After Joshua sent the people away, each of the tribes left to take possession of the land allotted to them.

Когда́ Иису́с распусти́л наро́д, и пошли́ сыны́ Изра́илевы, ка́ждый в свой уде́л, что́бы получи́ть в насле́дие зе́млю,

And the Israelites served the LORD throughout the lifetime of Joshua and the leaders who outlived him — those who had seen all the great things the LORD had done for Israel.

тогда́ наро́д служи́л Го́споду во все дни Иису́са и во все дни старе́йшин, кото́рых жизнь продли́лась по́сле Иису́са и кото́рые ви́дели все вели́кие дела́ Госпо́дни, каки́е Он сде́лал Изра́илю.

Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the age of 110.

Но когда́ у́мер Иису́с, сын Нави́н, раб Госпо́день, бу́дучи ста десяти́ лет,

They buried him in the land he had been allocated, at Timnath-serahb in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.

и похорони́ли его́ в преде́ле уде́ла его́ в Фамна́ф-Сараи́, на горе́ Ефре́мовой, на се́вер от горы́ Гаа́ша;

After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the LORD or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.

и когда́ весь наро́д о́ный отошёл к отца́м свои́м, и восста́л по́сле них друго́й род, кото́рый не знал Го́спода и дел Его́, каки́е Он де́лал Изра́илю, —

The Israelites did evil in the LORD’s sight and served the images of Baal.

тогда́ сыны́ Изра́илевы ста́ли де́лать зло́е пред оча́ми Го́спода и ста́ли служи́ть Ваа́лам;

They abandoned the LORD, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They went after other gods, worshiping the gods of the people around them. And they angered the LORD.

оста́вили Го́спода, Бо́га отцо́в свои́х, Кото́рый вы́вел их из земли́ Еги́петской, и обрати́лись к други́м бога́м, бога́м наро́дов, окружа́вших их, и ста́ли поклоня́ться им, и раздражи́ли Го́спода;

They abandoned the LORD to serve Baal and the images of Ashtoreth.

оста́вили Го́спода и ста́ли служи́ть Ваа́лу и Аста́ртам.

This made the LORD burn with anger against Israel, so he handed them over to raiders who stole their possessions. He turned them over to their enemies all around, and they were no longer able to resist them.

И воспыла́л гнев Госпо́день на Изра́иля, и преда́л их в ру́ки граби́телей, и гра́били их; и преда́л их в ру́ки враго́в, окружа́вших их, и не могли́ уже́ устоя́ть пред врага́ми свои́ми.

Every time Israel went out to battle, the LORD fought against them, causing them to be defeated, just as he had warned. And the people were in great distress.

Куда́ они́ ни пойду́т, рука́ Госпо́дня везде́ была́ им во зло, как говори́л им Госпо́дь и как кля́лся им Госпо́дь. И им бы́ло весьма́ те́сно.

Then the LORD raised up judges to rescue the Israelites from their attackers.

И воздвига́л им Госпо́дь су́дей, кото́рые спаса́ли их от рук граби́телей их;

Yet Israel did not listen to the judges but prostituted themselves by worshiping other gods. How quickly they turned away from the path of their ancestors, who had walked in obedience to the LORD’s commands.

но и су́дей они́ не слу́шали, а ходи́ли блу́дно вслед други́х бого́в и поклоня́лись им, ско́ро уклоня́лись от пути́, ко́им ходи́ли отцы́ их, повину́ясь за́поведям Госпо́дним. Они́ так не де́лали.

Whenever the LORD raised up a judge over Israel, he was with that judge and rescued the people from their enemies throughout the judge’s lifetime. For the LORD took pity on his people, who were burdened by oppression and suffering.

Когда́ Госпо́дь воздвига́л им су́дей, то Сам Госпо́дь был с судьёю и спаса́л их от враго́в их во все дни судьи́: и́бо жале́л их Госпо́дь, слы́ша стон их от угнета́вших и притесня́вших их.

But when the judge died, the people returned to their corrupt ways, behaving worse than those who had lived before them. They went after other gods, serving and worshiping them. And they refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.

Но как ско́ро умира́л судья́, они́ опя́ть де́лали ху́же отцо́в свои́х, уклоня́ясь к други́м бога́м, служа́ им и поклоня́ясь им. Не отстава́ли от дел свои́х и от стро́потного пути́ своего́.

So the LORD burned with anger against Israel. He said, “Because these people have violated my covenant, which I made with their ancestors, and have ignored my commands,

И воспыла́л гнев Госпо́день на Изра́иля, и сказа́л Он: за то, что наро́д сей преступа́ет заве́т Мой, кото́рый Я поста́вил с отца́ми их, и не слу́шает гла́са Моего́,

I will no longer drive out the nations that Joshua left unconquered when he died.

и Я не ста́ну уже́ изгоня́ть от них ни одного́ из тех наро́дов, кото́рых оста́вил Иису́с, когда́ умира́л, —

I did this to test Israel — to see whether or not they would follow the ways of the LORD as their ancestors did.”

что́бы искуша́ть и́ми Изра́иля: ста́нут ли они́ держа́ться пути́ Госпо́дня и ходи́ть по нему́, как держа́лись отцы́ их, и́ли нет?

That is why the LORD left those nations in place. He did not quickly drive them out or allow Joshua to conquer them all.

И оста́вил Госпо́дь наро́ды сии́, и не изгна́л их вско́ре, и не преда́л их в ру́ки Иису́са.
