Иисус Навин 7 глава

Но народ Израиля не послушал Бога. Был там один человек по имени Ахан из колена Иуды. Он был сыном Хармия и внуком Зимврия, правнуком Зары. Он взял часть вещей, которые должны были быть уничтожены. И Господь разгневался на народ Израиля.

 

But the children of Israel committed unfaithfulness in that which had been brought under the curse: Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing; and the anger of Jehovah was kindled against the children of Israel.

После разгрома Иерихона Иисус послал людей в Гай. Гай находился вблизи Беф-Авена, с восточной стороны Вефиля. Иисус сказал им: «Идите в Гай и тайно осмотрите землю». И лазутчики пошли в Гай.

 

And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth-Aven, on the east side of Bethel, and spoke to them, saying, Go up and spy out the country. And the men went up and spied out Ai.

Возвратившись к Иисусу, они сказали: «Гай — слабая страна. Нет нужды посылать туда целую армию, чтобы одержать победу над этим народом. Пошли туда две или три тысячи человек, так как в Гае мало воинов, способных сразиться с нами».

 

And they returned to Joshua, and said to him, Let not all the people go up; let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; make not all the people to toil thither, for they are few.

Тогда в Гай отправилось около трёх тысяч человек. Но жители Гая убили тридцать шесть из них, а остальных обратили в бегство.

 

And there went up thither of the people about three thousand men, but they fled before the men of Ai.

Жители Гая преследовали их от ворот города до каменоломен и жестоко разгромили. Когда народ Израиля увидел это, люди очень испугались и не осталось в них храбрости.

 

And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty-six men; and they pursued them from before the gate to Shebarim, and smote them on the descent. Then the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.

Когда Иисус об этом узнал, он разорвал на себе одежды, выражая тем самым печаль, упал на землю перед святым ковчегом и лежал там до вечера. И старейшины Израиля тоже посыпали свои головы пылью в знак печали.

 

And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of Jehovah until the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and threw dust upon their heads.

Иисус сказал: «Господь, мой Владыка! Ты перевёл наш народ через реку Иордан. Почему же ты привёл нас так далеко, чтобы позволить аморреям погубить нас? Нам надо было успокоиться и остаться на другой стороне Иордана!

 

And Joshua said, Alas, Lord Jehovah, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over the Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? Oh that we had been content and had remained beyond the Jordan!

О, Господи! Что сказать мне теперь, когда Израиль сдался врагам!

 

Ah Lord! what shall I say after Israel have turned their backs before their enemies?

Хананеи и все народы в стране услышат о том, что произошло, нападут на нас и убьют нас всех! Что Ты сделаешь тогда, чтобы защитить Своё великое имя?»

 

When the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear [of it], they will surround us, and cut off our name from the earth. And what wilt thou do unto thy great name?

Господь сказал Иисусу: «Почему ты пал лицом на землю? Поднимись!

 

And Jehovah said to Joshua, Rise up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?

Израильтяне согрешили против Меня, они нарушили соглашение, которое должны были исполнять. Они украли у Меня то, что Я приказал им уничтожить, и солгали. Они взяли эти вещи себе.

 

Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them, and they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it among their stuff.

Вот почему армия Израиля бежала с поля битвы. Они бежали потому, что совершили грех, и их необходимо уничтожить. Я не буду помогать тебе и не буду с тобой, если ты не уничтожишь всё, что Я приказал тебе уничтожить.

 

And the children of Israel shall not be able to stand before their enemies: they shall turn their backs before their enemies, for they have made themselves accursed. I will no more be with you, except ye destroy the accursed thing from your midst.

А теперь иди, освяти народ и скажи ему так: „Очиститесь и приготовьтесь к завтрашнему дню. Господь, Бог Израиля, говорит, что некоторые люди хранят вещи, которые Он приказал уничтожить. Вы не разобьёте своих врагов, пока не избавитесь от этих вещей.

 

Rise up, hallow the people, and say, Hallow yourselves for to-morrow; for thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, Israel: thou shalt not be able to stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from your midst.

Завтра утром вы все должны стоять перед Господом. Все колена будут стоять перед Господом. Он выберет одно колено, и тогда только то колено будет стоять перед Ним. Затем Господь выберет один род из того колена, и только эти люди будут стоять перед Господом. Затем Господь посмотрит на каждое семейство в этом племени и выберет одно семейство. А потом Господь посмотрит на каждого мужчину в том семействе.

 

And ye shall be brought near in the morning according to your tribes; and it shall be, that the tribe which Jehovah taketh shall come forward by families, and the family which Jehovah taketh shall come forward by households; and the household which Jehovah taketh shall come forward man by man.

Человек, спрятавший вещи, которые вам следовало уничтожить, будет пойман и уничтожен огнём, и всё, чем он владеет, будет уничтожено вместе с ним. Этот человек нарушил соглашение с Господом и навлёк огромную беду на народ Израиля!”»

 

And it shall be, that he who is taken with the accursed thing shall be burned with fire, he and all that he hath, because he hath transgressed the covenant of Jehovah, and because he hath wrought wickedness in Israel.

Рано утром Иисус привёл всех израильтян и поставил их перед Господом. Все колена стояли перед Господом, и Он выбрал колено Иуды.

 

And Joshua rose early in the morning, and caused Israel to come forward by their tribes, and the tribe of Judah was taken.

Всё колено Иуды стояло перед Господом, и Он выбрал род Зары и велел им подходить по семействам.

 

And he caused the families of Judah to come forward, and he took the family of the Zarhites. And he caused the family of the Zarhites to come forward man by man, and Zabdi was taken.

Затем Иисус велел каждому мужчине из семейства Зимврия подходить по одному. И Господь выбрал Ахана, сына Хармия, сына Зимврия, сына Зары.

 

And he caused his household to come forward man by man, and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.

Тогда Иисус сказал Ахану: «Сын мой, тебе следует почитать Господа Бога и исповедаться перед Ним в грехах. Скажи мне, что ты сделал, и не пытайся ничего от меня скрыть».

 

And Joshua said to Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to Jehovah the God of Israel, and make confession to him: tell me now what thou hast done, keep it not back from me.

Ахан ответил: «Это правда! Я согрешил против Господа, Бога Израиля. Вот что я сделал:

 

And Achan answered Joshua and said, Indeed I have sinned against Jehovah the God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done.

мы захватили город Иерихон и всё, что в нём было. Я увидел красивую одежду из Вавилона, около 2,5 килограмма серебра и 600 граммов золота и захотел взять эти вещи себе. Они все в земле под моим шатром, а серебро спрятано под одеждой».

 

I saw among the spoils a beautiful mantle of Shinar, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a golden bar of fifty shekels weight, and I coveted them and took them; and behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.

Иисус послал людей в шатёр, они поспешили туда и нашли спрятанное в шатре и серебро под ним.

 

And Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent, and behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it.

Они вынесли всё это из шатра и принесли к Иисусу и всему народу; и положили всё это на землю перед Господом.

 

And they took them out of the midst of the tent, and brought them to Joshua and to all the children of Israel, and laid them out before Jehovah.

Затем Иисус и весь народ повели Ахана, сына Зары, в долину Ахор. Они принесли также серебро, одежду и золото. Они привели сыновей и дочерей Ахана, его скот, ослов, овец, шатёр и всё его имущество.

 

Then Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the mantle, and the bar of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had; and they brought them up into the valley of Achor.

Иисус сказал: «Ты принёс нам много бед! А теперь Господь наведёт беду на тебя!» И весь народ начал бросать камни в Ахана и его семью, пока они не умерли, а потом люди сожгли их и всё их имущество.

 

And Joshua said, How hast thou troubled us! Jehovah will trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire, and stoned them with stones.

После сожжения Ахана, они набросали на его труп груду камней, которые уцелели и по сей день. Поэтому место называется Долина Ахор. После этого гнев Господа на народ утих.

 

And they raised over him a great heap of stones, [which is there] to this day. And Jehovah turned from the fierceness of his anger. Therefore the name of that place was called, The Valley of Achor, to this day.
