Итак подражайте Богу, как дети возлюбленные,

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

и проводите свою жизнь в любви, как и Христос возлюбил нас и предал Себя за нас как жертвенное приношение Богу в благоухание приятное.

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

А разврат и всякая нечистота или ненасытность пусть даже не поминается среди вас, как подобает святым,

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

и непристойность, и глупая или двусмысленная болтовня — то, что неприлично, — но лучше благодарение.

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

Ведь вы совершенно точно знаете, что ни один развратник, или нечистый, или ненасытный, который является идолопоклонником, не имеет наследия в царстве Христа и Бога.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Пусть никто вас не обманывает пустыми словами, потому что из-за этих грехов приходит гнев Божий на непокорных,

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

поэтому не становитесь их сообщниками.

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

Ведь вы были некогда тьмой, а теперь свет в Господе, как дети света проводите свою жизнь, —

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

потому что плод света проявляется во всякой доброте, и праведности, и истине, —

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

стараясь уяснить, что угодно Господу.

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

И не участвуйте в бесплодных делах тьмы, но лучше даже обличайте,

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

потому что о том, что делается ими тайно, стыдно и говорить,

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

но всё обличаемое посредством света делается явным,

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

потому что то, что всё делает явным, — это свет. Поэтому говорится:«Проснись, спящий, и воскресни из мёртвых, и осветит тебя Христос».

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Итак смотрите внимательно, как вы проводите свою жизнь — не как безрассудные, но как мудрые,

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

максимально используя время, потому что дни злы.

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Поэтому не будьте безрассудны, но постигайте, что есть воля Господа.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

И не напивайтесь вином, от которого распущенность, но будьте наполняемы Духом,

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

в результате говоря друг другу псалмами, и гимнами, и песнями духовными, поя и воспевая в сердцах ваших Господу,

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

благодаря всегда за всё Бога и Отца во имя Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

подчиняясь друг другу из-за благоговения перед Христом.

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Жёны — своим мужьям, как Господу,

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

потому что муж — глава жены, как и Христос — глава Церкви; Он Спаситель тела;

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

но как Церковь подчиняется Христу, так и жёны мужьям во всём.

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Мужья, любите жён, как и Христос возлюбил Церковь и отдал Себя ради неё,

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

чтобы сделать её святой, очистив водным омовением посредством слова,

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

чтобы Ему поставить пред Собою Церковь как славную, не имеющую ни пятна, ни морщины, ни чего-то подобного, но чтобы она была свята и непорочна.

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Так и мужья должны любить своих жен, как свои тела. Любящий свою жену себя любит,

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

потому что никто никогда не ненавидит свою плоть, но питает и лелеет её, как и Христос Церковь,

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

потому что мы члены Его тела.

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

«Поэтому оставит человек отца и мать и прилепится к жене своей, и будут двое одной плотью».

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Тайна эта велика, но я говорю в отношении Христа и Церкви.

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Тем не менее, и каждый из вас пусть свою жену любит как самого себя, а жена пусть почитает мужа.

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
