Господи, Ты — Бог карающий, так воссияй, Бог наказания!

O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

Восстань же, Господь, и воздай гордецам по делам их.

Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

Долго ли будут, Господи, злобные торжествовать?

LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

Сколько будут ещё они возводить свой вред в похвалу?

How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

Люди Твои страдают от них, они угнетают наследство Твоё.

They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.

Не только пришлых предают они смерти, но вдов и сирот.

They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

Твердят они, что Господь не знает о их делах, не ведает Бог Иакова, что происходит вокруг.

Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

О бесчувственные, образумьтесь! Когда, глупцы, поумнеете?

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

Не думайте, что не слышит давший нам уши, что давший глаза — не видит.

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

Бог пошлёт им всем наказание. Бог даёт всем людям знание.

He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?

Господу мысли людские известны, Он знает, что наши мысли — просто напросто вздох.

The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

Те, кого поправляешь Ты, рады, ибо учишь Своим законам их.

Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;

Ты даёшь им покой и отдых в дни несчастий, пока не вырыта для грешников могила.

That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

Господь не оставит Свой народ, наследство Своё — без помощи.

For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

Справедливость вернётся, и за ней последуют все, в чьём сердце правда.

But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

Кто против злодеев вместе со мною восстанет? Кто будет вместе со мной против творящих зло?

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

Если бы мне Господь не помог, я вселился в молчание смерти.

Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

Когда я поскользнулся, Твоя любовь, Господь, поддержала меня.

When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.

В часы огорчений радость душе Твоё принесло утешенье.

In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Ты не помогаешь нечестным судьям, использующим закон ради людского несчастья.

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

Они выступают сообща против правых и обрекают невинных на смерть.

They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

Но крепостью моею стал Господь, скалою, где я нахожу спасенье.

But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

Господь отплатит этим беззаконным за всё дурное, за все грехи, Господь наш Бог их уничтожит всех.

And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.
