Якуб, слуга Бога і Госпада Ісуса Хрыста, — дванаццаці каленам, што ў расьцярушаньні: радавацца!

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

Вялікай радасьцю лічыце, браты мае, калі трапляеце ў розныя спакусы,

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

ведаючы, што выпрабаваньне вашае веры робіць цярплівасьць.

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

А цярплівасьць няхай мае дасканалае дзеяньне, каб вы былі дасканалымі і суцэльнымі, без аніякага недахопу.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Калі ж у каго з вас не хапае мудрасьці, няхай просіць у Бога, Які дае ўсім шчыра і не дакараючы, і будзе яму дадзена.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Але няхай просіць з вераю, ані не сумняваючыся, бо той, хто сумняецца, падобны да хваляваньня марскога, якое вецер уздымае і ганяе.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Дык няхай не мяркуе гэтакі чалавек, што нешта атрымае ад Госпада.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Двудушны чалавек няцьвёрды на ўсіх шляхах сваіх.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Няхай жа хваліцца паніжаны брат сваёй высокасьцю,

Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

а багаты — сваім паніжэньнем, бо праміне, як кветка на траве.

But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

Бо ўзыходзіць сонца са сьпёкаю і сушыць траву, і кветка яе падае, і хараство аблічча яе зьнікае; гэтак і багаты на шляхах сваіх счэзьне.

For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

Шчасьлівы чалавек, які вытрымлівае спакусу, бо, стаўшыся выпрабаваным, ён атрымае вянок жыцьця, які абяцаў Госпад тым, хто любіць Яго.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Спакушаны, ніхто няхай ня кажа: «Бог мяне спакушае», бо Бог не спакушаецца злом, і Сам нікога не спакушае.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

А кожны спакушаецца, захоплены і прываблены ўласным пажаданьнем;

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

пасьля пажаданьне, зачаўшы, нараджае грэх, а грэх, як яго давесьці да канца, спараджае сьмерць.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Не падманвайцеся, браты мае ўлюбёныя:

Do not err, my beloved brethren.

усякі дар добры і ўсякі дарунак дасканалы зыходзяць з вышыні, ад Айца сьвятла, у Якога няма рознасьці, ані ценю зьменлівасьці.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Захацеўшы, Ён спарадзіў нас словам праўды, каб быць нам нейкім пачаткам стварэньняў Ягоных.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Так што, браты мае ўлюбёныя, усякі чалавек няхай будзе хуткі, каб слухаць, павольны, каб гаварыць, павольны на гнеў,

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

бо гнеў чалавека ня чыніць праведнасьці Божае.

For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Дзеля гэтага, адкінуўшы ўсякі бруд і празьмернасьць ліхоты, у ціхасьці прыйміце насаджанае слова, якое можа збавіць душы вашыя.

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Будзьце ж выканаўцамі слова, а не слухачамі толькі, якія ўводзяць у зман саміх сябе.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Бо хто слухае слова і не выконвае, той падобны да чалавека, які разглядае аблічча сваё, [якое мае ад] нараджэньня, у люстэрку;

For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

бо ён паглядзеў на сябе, і адыйшоў, і адразу забыўся, які ён.

For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

А хто прыхіляецца да дасканалага закону свабоды і трывае [ў ім], той, стаўшыся не слухачом, які забываецца, але выканаўцам справы, шчасьлівы будзе ў дзейнасьці сваёй.

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Калі хто сярод вас думае, што ён пабожны, і не цугляе язык свой, але падманвае сэрца сваё, у таго пабожнасьць марная.

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

Чыстая і беззаганная пабожнасьць перад Богам і Айцом ёсьць у тым, каб адведваць сіротаў і ўдоваў у горы іхнім і захоўваць сябе неапаганеным ад сьвету.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
