Напоминай им подчиняться и покоряться начальству и властям, быть готовыми ко всякому доброму делу,

Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

ни о ком не злословить, проявлять миролюбие, доброжелательность, мягкость по отношению ко всем людям.

To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

Ведь мы тоже были когда-то неразумные, непокорные, сбившиеся с пути, рабы своих желаний и удовольствий, в злобе и зависти, ненавистные и ненавидящие друг друга.

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Когда же открылась доброта и человеколюбие нашего Спасителя, Бога,

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

не за праведные дела, что мы творили, а по Своей милости Он спас нас омовением возрождения и обновления Святым Духом,

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Которого излил на нас обильно через Иисуса Помазанника, нашего Спасителя,

Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

чтобы, оправданные Его благодатью мы стали, в надежде, наследниками вечной жизни.

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Это надежное слово; и потому желаю тебе решительно его утверждать, чтобы поверившие Богу старались преуспевать в добрых делах. Это хорошо и полезно людям.

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Глупых же изысканий и родословных, и ссор и законнических споров избегай, ведь они бесполезны и пусты.

But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Раскольника, после первого и второго предупреждения, сторонись,

A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

зная, что такой человек испорчен и грешит, осуждаем сам собой.

Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Когда пошлю к тебе Артему или Тихика, поспеши прийти ко мне в Никополь, так как я решил там перезимовать.

When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.

Зину правоведа и Аполлоса позаботься отправить так, чтобы у них не было ни в чём недостатка.

Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them.

Пусть и наши учатся преуспевать в хороших делах, восполняя нужды других, чтобы не были бесплодны.

And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

Приветствуют тебя все, кто со мной. Поприветствуй любящих нас в вере. Благодать со всеми вами.

All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen. { It was written to Titus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Cretians, from Nicopolis of Macedonia. }
