Итак, святые братья, причастные небесному призыву, размышляйте об Иисусе как о посланнике и первосвященнике — кем мы Его и признаем.

And so, dear brothers and sisters who belong to God anda are partners with those called to heaven, think carefully about this Jesus whom we declare to be God’s messengerb and High Priest.

Он был верен Создателю Своему, как Моисей «во всем доме Его».

For he was faithful to God, who appointed him, just as Moses served faithfully when he was entrusted with God’s entirec house.

И насколько архитектор почитается больше созданного им дома, настолько и Он удостоился славы большей, чем Моисей.

But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself.

Ведь всякий дом кем-то построен, и всё устроено Богом.

For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.

Моисей как служитель был «верен во всем доме Его», свидетельствуя о том, что еще предстояло сказать.

Moses was certainly faithful in God’s house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later.

А Христос как Сын правит Божьим домом, и дом Его — мы сами, если, конечно, не теряем уверенности и той надежды, которой можем похвалиться.

But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.d

А потому, как говорит Дух Святой,«Сегодня, если услышите голос Его,

That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear his voice,

не ожесточайте сердец ваших, не противьтесь,как было в день искушения в пустыне!

don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness.

Искушали Меня отцы ваши,проверяли, наблюдали, что Я творю,

There your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years.

сорок лет —за то прогневался Я на это поколение и сказал:“Вечно блуждают их сердца,не познали они путей Моих”.

So I was angry with them, and I said, ‘Their hearts always turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’

И поклялся Я тогда во гневе:не войти им в страну Моего покоя!»

So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.’”e

Смотрите, братья, чтобы у кого из вас сердце не оказалось лукавым и неверным — такое уведет вас от Бога Живого.

Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters.f Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.

Так что каждый день ободряйте друг друга, пока длится нынешний срок, чтобы никто из вас не был обманут грехом и не ожесточился.

You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.

Мы ведь теперь причастны Христу, если только твердо сохраним до конца то, что приобрели изначально.

For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.

Как и сказано: «Сегодня, если услышите голос Его, не ожесточайте сердец ваших, не противьтесь».

Remember what it says: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.”g

Из тех, кто слышал, некоторые воспротивились — но не все, кто вышел с Моисеем из Египта.

And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt?

На кого же тогда гневался Бог сорок лет? Конечно, на тех, кто согрешил — и трупы их пали в пустыне.

And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness?

И о ком поклялся, что не войти им в страну покоя? Конечно, о тех, кто был непокорен.

And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him?

Итак, мы видим, что не позволила им туда войти именно их неверность.

So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.
