Всякий первосвященник, избранный из числа людей, заступается за них перед Богом, приносит Ему дары и жертвы за грехи.

Every high priest is selected from among the people and is appointed to represent the people in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.

Он может быть снисходительным к людям невежественным и заблудшим, ведь он и сам подвержен слабостям

He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness.

и потому вынужден приносить жертвы не только за грехи народа, но и за собственные грехи.

This is why he has to offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people.

И такой чести никто не добивается сам по себе, а лишь по Божьему призыву, как было и с Аароном.

And no one takes this honor on himself, but he receives it when called by God, just as Aaron was.

Так было и со Христом — не Сам Себя Он прославил как первосвященника, а Тот, Кто сказал Ему: «Ты Сын Мой, сегодня Я Тебя породил».

In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.”a

Так и в другом месте Он говорит: «Ты священник вовек по чину Мелхиседека».

And he says in another place, “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”b

Когда Он жил во плоти, то с громким плачем и слезами вознес молитвы и прошения к Тому, Кто мог избавить Его от смерти, и в смирении Своем был Он услышан.

During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.

Хоть и был Он Сыном, но принял страдания и так обрел опыт покорности Богу.

Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered

Теперь Он, совершенный, стал источником вечного спасения для тех, кто покорен Ему —

and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him

таким «первосвященником по чину Мелхиседека» назвал его Бог!

and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

Рассуждать об этом мы можем долго, но вам тяжело будет это понять — вы слишком ленивые слушатели.

We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand.

С течением времени и вам следовало бы стать учителями, но у вас заново возникла потребность обучаться у кого-то самым основам — первому, что сказал Бог. Оказалось, что вам нужна не твердая пища, а молоко.

In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!

Всякий, кто питается молоком — младенец, несведущий в праведном слове.

Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.

А твердая пища — для взрослых, ведь их чувства на опыте научились отличать добро от зла.

But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
