The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah concerning the droughts.

Сло́во Го́спода, кото́рое бы́ло к Иереми́и по слу́чаю бездо́ждия.

“Judah mourns, And her gates languish; They mourn for the land, And the cry of Jerusalem has gone up.

Пла́чет Иу́да, воро́та его́ распа́лись, почерне́ли на земле́, и вопль поднима́ется в Иерусали́ме.

Their nobles have sent their lads for water; They went to the cisterns and found no water. They returned with their vessels empty; They were ashamed and confounded And covered their heads.

Вельмо́жи посыла́ют слуг свои́х за водо́ю; они́ прихо́дят к коло́дезям и не нахо́дят воды́; возвраща́ются с пусты́ми сосу́дами; присты́женные и смущённые, они́ покрыва́ют свои́ го́ловы.

Because the ground is parched, For there was no rain in the land, The plowmen were ashamed; They covered their heads.

Так как по́чва растре́скалась оттого́, что не́ бы́ло дождя́ на зе́млю, то и земледе́льцы в смуще́нии и покрыва́ют свои́ го́ловы.

Yes, the deer also gave birth in the field, But [a]left because there was no grass.

Да́же и лань рожда́ет на по́ле и оставля́ет дете́й, потому́ что нет травы́.

And the wild donkeys stood in the desolate heights; They sniffed at the wind like jackals; Their eyes failed because there was no grass.”

И ди́кие ослы́ стоя́т на возвы́шенных места́х и глота́ют, подо́бно шака́лам, во́здух; глаза́ их поту́скли, потому́ что нет травы́.

O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, Do it for Your name’s sake; For our backslidings are many, We have sinned against You.

Хотя́ беззако́ния на́ши свиде́тельствуют про́тив нас, но Ты, Го́споди, твори́ с на́ми ра́ди и́мени Твоего́; отсту́пничество на́ше велико́, согреши́ли мы пред Тобо́ю.

O the Hope of Israel, his Savior in time of trouble, Why should You be like a stranger in the land, And like a traveler who turns aside to tarry for a night?

Наде́жда Изра́иля, Спаси́тель его́ во вре́мя ско́рби! Для чего́ Ты — как чужо́й в э́той земле́, как прохо́жий, кото́рый зашёл переночева́ть?

Why should You be like a man astonished, Like a mighty one who cannot save? Yet You, O Lord, are in our midst, And we are called by Your name; Do not leave us!

Для чего́ Ты — как челове́к изумлённый, как си́льный, не име́ющий си́лы спасти́? И одна́ко же Ты, Го́споди, посреди́ нас, и Твоё и́мя наречено́ над на́ми; не оставля́й нас.

Thus says the Lord to this people: “Thus they have loved to wander; They have not restrained their feet. Therefore the Lord does not accept them; He will remember their iniquity now, And punish their sins.”

Так говори́т Госпо́дь наро́ду сему́: за то, что они́ лю́бят броди́ть, не уде́рживают ног свои́х, за то Госпо́дь не благоволи́т к ним, припомина́ет ны́не беззако́ния их и нака́зывает грехи́ их.

Then the Lord said to me, “Do not pray for this people, for their good.

И сказа́л мне Госпо́дь: ты не моли́сь о наро́де сём во бла́го ему́.

When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.”

Е́сли они́ бу́дут пости́ться, Я не услы́шу во́пля их; и е́сли вознесу́т всесожже́ние и дар, не приму́ их; но мечо́м и го́лодом, и морово́ю я́звою истреблю́ их.

Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, the prophets say to them, ‘You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you [b]assured peace in this place.’ ”

Тогда́ сказа́л я: Го́споди Бо́же! вот, проро́ки говоря́т им: «не уви́дите меча́, и го́лода не бу́дет у вас, но постоя́нный мир дам вам на сём ме́сте».

And the Lord said to me, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, [c]divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart.

И сказа́л мне Госпо́дь: проро́ки проро́чествуют ло́жное и́менем Мои́м; Я не посыла́л их, и не дава́л им повеле́ния, и не говори́л им; они́ возвеща́ют вам виде́ния ло́жные и гада́ния, и пусто́е, и мечты́ се́рдца своего́.

Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in My name, whom I did not send, and who say, ‘Sword and famine shall not be in this land’ — ‘By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed!

Поэ́тому так говори́т Госпо́дь о проро́ках: они́ проро́чествуют и́менем Мои́м, а Я не посыла́л их; они́ говоря́т: «меча́ и го́лода не бу́дет на сей земле́!» — мечо́м и го́лодом бу́дут истреблены́ э́ти проро́ки,

And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; they will have no one to bury them — them nor their wives, their sons nor their daughters — for I will pour their wickedness on them.’

и наро́д, кото́рому они́ проро́чествуют, разбро́сан бу́дет по у́лицам Иерусали́ма от го́лода и меча́, и не́кому бу́дет хорони́ть их, — они́ и жёны их, и сыновья́ их, и до́чери их; и Я изолью́ на них зло их.

“Therefore you shall say this word to them: ‘Let my eyes flow with tears night and day, And let them not cease; For the virgin daughter of my people Has been broken with a mighty stroke, with a very severe blow.

И скажи́ им сло́во сие́: да лью́тся из глаз мои́х слёзы ночь и день, и да не перестаю́т; и́бо вели́ким пораже́нием поражена́ де́ва, дочь наро́да моего́, тя́жким уда́ром.

If I go out to the field, Then behold, those slain with the sword! And if I enter the city, Then behold, those sick from famine! Yes, both prophet and priest go about in a land they do not know.’ ”

Выхожу́ я на по́ле, — и вот, уби́тые мечо́м; вхожу́ в го́род, — и вот истаева́ющие от го́лода; да́же и проро́к и свяще́нник бро́дят по земле́ бессозна́тельно.

Have You utterly rejected Judah? Has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You stricken us so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but there was no good; And for the time of healing, and there was trouble.

Ра́зве Ты совсе́м отве́рг Иу́ду? Ра́зве душе́ Твое́й опроти́вел Сио́н? Для чего́ порази́л нас так, что нет нам исцеле́ния? Ждём ми́ра, и ничего́ до́брого нет; ждём вре́мени исцеле́ния, и вот у́жасы.

We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness And the iniquity of our fathers, For we have sinned against You.

Сознаём, Го́споди, нече́стие на́ше, беззако́ние отцо́в на́ших; и́бо согреши́ли мы пред Тобо́ю.

Do not abhor us, for Your name’s sake; Do not disgrace the throne of Your glory. Remember, do not break Your covenant with us.

Не отри́ни нас ра́ди и́мени Твоего́; не унижа́й престо́ла сла́вы Твое́й: вспо́мни, не разруша́й заве́та Твоего́ с на́ми.

Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are You not He, O Lord our God? Therefore we will wait for You, Since You have made all these.

Есть ли ме́жду су́етными бога́ми язы́ческими производя́щие дождь? и́ли мо́жет ли не́бо само́ собо́ю подава́ть ли́вень? не Ты ли э́то, Го́споди, Бо́же наш? На Тебя́ наде́емся мы; и́бо Ты твори́шь всё э́то.
