The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

Сло́во, кото́рое бы́ло к Иереми́и от Го́спода:

“Stand in the gate of the Lord’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, all you of Judah who enter in at these gates to worship the Lord!’ ”

стань во врата́х до́ма Госпо́дня и провозгласи́ там сло́во сие́ и скажи́: слу́шайте сло́во Госпо́дне, все Иуде́и, входя́щие си́ми врата́ми на поклоне́ние Го́споду.

Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

Так говори́т Госпо́дь Савао́ф, Бог Изра́илев: испра́вьте пути́ ва́ши и дея́ния ва́ши, и Я оста́влю вас жить на сём ме́сте.

Do not trust in these lying words, saying, ‘The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are these.’

Не наде́йтесь на обма́нчивые слова́: «здесь храм Госпо́день, храм Госпо́день, храм Госпо́день».

“For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute [a]judgment between a man and his neighbor,

Но е́сли совсе́м испра́вите пути́ ва́ши и дея́ния ва́ши, е́сли бу́дете ве́рно производи́ть суд ме́жду челове́ком и сопе́рником его́,

if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt,

не бу́дете притесня́ть инозе́мца, сироты́ и вдовы́, и пролива́ть неви́нной кро́ви на ме́сте сём, и не пойдёте восле́д ины́х бого́в на беду́ себе́, —

then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.

то Я оста́влю вас жить на ме́сте сём, на э́той земле́, кото́рую дал отца́м ва́шим в роды́ родо́в.

“Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit.

Вот, вы наде́етесь на обма́нчивые слова́, кото́рые не принесу́т вам по́льзы.

Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know,

Как! вы крадёте, убива́ете и прелюбоде́йствуете, и клянётесь во лжи, и кади́те Ваа́лу, и хо́дите восле́д ины́х бого́в, кото́рых вы не зна́ете,

and then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, ‘We are delivered to do all these abominations’?

и пото́м прихо́дите и стано́витесь пред лицо́м Мои́м в до́ме сём, над кото́рым наречено́ и́мя Моё, и говори́те: «мы спасены́», что́бы впредь де́лать все э́ти ме́рзости.

Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of thieves in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it,” says the Lord.

Не сде́лался ли верте́пом разбо́йников в глаза́х ва́ших дом сей, над кото́рым наречено́ и́мя Моё? Вот, Я ви́дел э́то, говори́т Госпо́дь.

“But go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of My people Israel.

Пойди́те же на ме́сто Моё в Сило́м, где Я пре́жде назна́чил пребыва́ть и́мени Моему́, и посмотри́те, что сде́лал Я с ним за нече́стие наро́да Моего́ Изра́иля.

And now, because you have done all these works,” says the Lord, “and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I called you, but you did not answer,

И ны́не, так как вы де́лаете все э́ти дела́, говори́т Госпо́дь, и Я говори́л вам с ра́ннего утра́, а вы не слу́шали, и звал вас, а вы не отвеча́ли, —

therefore I will do to the house which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to this place which I gave to you and your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

то Я так же поступлю́ с до́мом сим, над кото́рым наречено́ и́мя Моё, на кото́рый вы наде́етесь, и с ме́стом, кото́рое Я дал вам и отца́м ва́шим, как поступи́л с Сило́мом.

And I will cast you out of My sight, as I have cast out all your brethren — the whole posterity of Ephraim.

И отве́ргну вас от лица́ Моего́, как отве́рг всех бра́тьев ва́ших, всё се́мя Ефре́мово.

“Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you.

Ты же не проси́ за э́тот наро́д, и не возноси́ за них моли́твы и проше́ния, и не хода́тайствуй пре́до Мно́ю, и́бо Я не услы́шу тебя́.

Do you not see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

Не ви́дишь ли, что они́ де́лают в города́х Иуде́и и на у́лицах Иерусали́ма?

The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.

Де́ти собира́ют дрова́, а отцы́ разво́дят ого́нь, и же́нщины ме́сят те́сто, что́бы де́лать пирожки́ для боги́ни не́ба и соверша́ть возлия́ния ины́м бога́м, что́бы огорча́ть Меня́.

Do they provoke Me to anger?” says the Lord. “Do they not provoke themselves, to the shame of their own faces?”

Но Меня́ ли огорча́ют они́? говори́т Госпо́дь; не себя́ ли сами́х, к стыду́ своему́?

Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Behold, My anger and My fury will be poured out on this place — on man and on beast, on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground. And it will burn and not be quenched.”

Посему́ так говори́т Госпо́дь Бог: вот, излива́ется гнев Мой и я́рость Моя́ на ме́сто сие́, на люде́й и на скот, и на дерева́ полевы́е и на плоды́ земли́, и возгори́тся и не пога́снет.

Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat meat.

Так говори́т Госпо́дь Савао́ф, Бог Изра́илев: всесожже́ния ва́ши прилага́йте к же́ртвам ва́шим и е́шьте мя́со;

For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices.

и́бо отца́м ва́шим Я не говори́л и не дава́л им за́поведи в тот день, в кото́рый Я вы́вел их из земли́ Еги́петской, о всесожже́нии и же́ртве;

But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’

но таку́ю за́поведь дал им: «слу́шайтесь гла́са Моего́, и Я бу́ду ва́шим Бо́гом, а вы бу́дете Мои́м наро́дом, и ходи́те по вся́кому пути́, кото́рый Я запове́даю вам, что́бы вам бы́ло хорошо́».

Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed[b] the counsels and the [c]dictates of their evil hearts, and went[d] backward and not forward.

Но они́ не послу́шали и не приклони́ли у́ха своего́, и жи́ли по внуше́нию и упо́рству зло́го се́рдца своего́, и ста́ли ко Мне спино́ю, а не лицо́м.

Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them.

С того́ дня, как отцы́ ва́ши вы́шли из земли́ Еги́петской, до сего́ дня Я посыла́л к вам всех рабо́в Мои́х — проро́ков, посыла́л вся́кий день с ра́ннего утра́;

Yet they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers.

но они́ не слу́шались Меня́ и не приклони́ли у́ха своего́, а ожесточи́ли вы́ю свою́, поступа́ли ху́же отцо́в свои́х.

“Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not obey you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.

И когда́ ты бу́дешь говори́ть им все э́ти слова́, они́ тебя́ не послу́шают; и когда́ бу́дешь звать их, они́ тебе́ не отве́тят.

“So you shall say to them, ‘This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord their God nor receive correction. Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.

Тогда́ скажи́ им: вот наро́д, кото́рый не слу́шает гла́са Го́спода Бо́га своего́ и не принима́ет наставле́ния! Не ста́ло у них и́стины, она́ отнята́ от уст их.

Cut off your hair and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the desolate heights; for the Lord has rejected and forsaken the generation of His wrath.’

Остриги́ волоса́ твои́ и брось, и подними́ плач на гора́х, и́бо отве́рг Госпо́дь и оста́вил род, навлёкший гнев Его́.

For the children of Judah have done evil in My sight,” says the Lord. “They have set their abominations in the house which is called by My name, to [e]pollute it.

И́бо сыновья́ Иу́ды де́лают зло́е пред оча́ми Мои́ми, говори́т Госпо́дь; поста́вили ме́рзости свои́ в до́ме, над кото́рым наречено́ и́мя Моё, что́бы оскверни́ть его́;

And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart.

и устро́или высо́ты Тофе́та в доли́не сынове́й Енно́мовых, что́бы сожига́ть сынове́й свои́х и дочере́й свои́х в огне́, чего́ Я не повелева́л и что Мне на се́рдце не приходи́ло.

“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “when it will no more be called Tophet, or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter; for they will bury in Tophet until there is no room.

За то вот, прихо́дят дни, говори́т Госпо́дь, когда́ не бу́дут бо́лее называ́ть ме́сто сие́ Тофе́том и доли́ною сынове́й Енно́мовых, но доли́ною уби́йства, и в Тофе́те бу́дут хорони́ть по недоста́тку ме́ста.

The corpses of this people will be food for the birds of the heaven and for the beasts of the earth. And no one will frighten them away.

И бу́дут тру́пы наро́да сего́ пи́щею пти́цам небе́сным и зверя́м земны́м, и не́кому бу́дет отгоня́ть их.

Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. For the land shall be desolate.

И прекращу́ в города́х Иуде́и и на у́лицах Иерусали́ма го́лос торжества́ и го́лос весе́лия, го́лос жениха́ и го́лос неве́сты; потому́ что земля́ э́та бу́дет пусты́нею.
