The word that the Lord spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

Сло́во, кото́рое изрёк Госпо́дь о Вавило́не и о земле́ Халде́ев че́рез Иереми́ю проро́ка:

“Declare among the nations, Proclaim, and [a]set up a standard; Proclaim — do not conceal it — Say, ‘Babylon is taken, Bel is shamed. [b]Merodach is broken in pieces; Her idols are humiliated, Her images are broken in pieces.’

возвести́те и разгласи́те ме́жду наро́дами, и подними́те зна́мя, объяви́те, не скрыва́йте, говори́те: «Вавило́н взят, Вил посрамлён, Мерода́х сокрушён, истука́ны его́ посрамлены́, и́долы его́ сокрушены́».

For out of the north a nation comes up against her, Which shall make her land desolate, And no one shall dwell therein. They shall [c]move, they shall depart, Both man and beast.

И́бо от се́вера подня́лся про́тив него́ наро́д, кото́рый сде́лает зе́млю его́ пусты́нею, и никто́ не бу́дет жить там, от челове́ка до скота́, все дви́нутся и уйду́т.

“In those days and in that time,” says the Lord, “The children of Israel shall come, They and the children of Judah together; With continual weeping they shall come, And seek the Lord their God.

В те дни и в то вре́мя, говори́т Госпо́дь, приду́т сыновья́ Изра́илевы, они́ и сыновья́ Иу́дины вме́сте, бу́дут ходи́ть и пла́кать, и взы́щут Го́спода Бо́га своего́.

They shall ask the way to Zion, With their faces toward it, saying, ‘Come and let us join ourselves to the Lord In a perpetual covenant That will not be forgotten.’

Бу́дут спра́шивать о пути́ к Сио́ну, и, обраща́я к нему́ ли́ца, бу́дут говори́ть: «иди́те и присоедини́тесь к Го́споду сою́зом ве́чным, кото́рый не забу́дется».

“My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray; They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill; They have forgotten their resting place.

Наро́д Мой был как поги́бшие о́вцы; па́стыри их соврати́ли их с пути́, разогна́ли их по гора́м; скита́лись они́ с горы́ на холм, забы́ли ло́же своё.

All who found them have devoured them; And their adversaries said, ‘We have not offended, Because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, The Lord, the hope of their fathers.’

Все, кото́рые находи́ли их, пожира́ли их, и притесни́тели их говори́ли: «мы не винова́ты, потому́ что они́ согреши́ли пред Го́сподом, пред жили́щем пра́вды, и пред Го́сподом, наде́ждою отцо́в их».

“Move from the midst of Babylon, Go out of the land of the Chaldeans; And be like the [d]rams before the flocks.

Беги́те из среды́ Вавило́на, и уходи́те из Халде́йской земли́, и бу́дьте как козлы́ впереди́ ста́да ове́ц.

For behold, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon An assembly of great nations from the north country, And they shall array themselves against her; From there she shall be captured. Their arrows shall be like those of [e]an expert warrior; None shall return in vain.

И́бо вот, Я подниму́ и приведу́ на Вавило́н сбо́рище вели́ких наро́дов от земли́ се́верной, и располо́жатся про́тив него́, и он бу́дет взят; стре́лы у них, как у иску́сного во́ина, не возвраща́ются да́ром.

And Chaldea shall become plunder; All who plunder her shall be satisfied,” says the Lord.

И Халде́я сде́лается добы́чею их; и опустоши́тели её насы́тятся, говори́т Госпо́дь.

“Because you were glad, because you rejoiced, You destroyers of My heritage, Because you have grown fat like a heifer threshing grain, And you [f]bellow like bulls,

И́бо вы весели́лись, вы торжествова́ли, расхити́тели насле́дия Моего́; пры́гали от ра́дости, как тели́ца на траве́, и ржа́ли, как боевы́е ко́ни.

Your mother shall be deeply ashamed; She who bore you shall be ashamed. Behold, the least of the nations shall be a wilderness, A dry land and a desert.

В большо́м стыде́ бу́дет мать ва́ша, покрасне́ет роди́вшая вас; вот бу́дущность тех наро́дов — пусты́ня, суха́я земля́ и степь.

Because of the wrath of the Lord She shall not be inhabited, But she shall be wholly desolate. Everyone who goes by Babylon shall be horrified And hiss at all her plagues.

От гне́ва Го́спода она́ сде́лается необита́емою, и вся она́ бу́дет пуста́; вся́кий проходя́щий че́рез Вавило́н изуми́тся и посви́щет, смотря́ на все я́звы его́.

“Put yourselves in array against Babylon all around, All you who bend the bow; Shoot at her, spare no arrows, For she has sinned against the Lord.

Вы́стройтесь в боево́й поря́док вокру́г Вавило́на; все, натя́гивающие лук, стреля́йте в него́, не жале́йте стрел, и́бо он согреши́л про́тив Го́спода.

Shout against her all around; She has given her hand, Her foundations have fallen, Her walls are thrown down; For it is the vengeance of the Lord. Take vengeance on her. As she has done, so do to her.

Подними́те крик про́тив него́ со всех сторо́н; он пода́л ру́ку свою́; па́ли тверды́ни его́, ру́шились сте́ны его́, и́бо э́то — возме́здие Го́спода; отмща́йте ему́; как он поступа́л, так и вы поступа́йте с ним.

Cut off the sower from Babylon, And him who handles the sickle at harvest time. For fear of the oppressing sword Everyone shall turn to his own people, And everyone shall flee to his own land.

Истреби́те в Вавило́не и се́ющего и де́йствующего серпо́м во вре́мя жа́твы; от стра́ха губи́тельного меча́ пусть ка́ждый возврати́тся к наро́ду своему́, и ка́ждый пусть бежи́т в зе́млю свою́.

“Israel is like scattered sheep; The lions have driven him away. First the king of Assyria devoured him; Now at last this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”

Изра́иль — рассе́янное ста́до; львы разогна́ли его́; пре́жде объеда́л его́ царь Ассири́йский, а сей после́дний, Навуходоно́сор, царь Вавило́нский, и ко́сти его́ сокруши́л.

Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, As I have punished the king of Assyria.

Посему́ так говори́т Госпо́дь Савао́ф, Бог Изра́илев: вот, Я посещу́ царя́ Вавило́нского и зе́млю его́, как посети́л царя́ Ассири́йского.

But I will bring back Israel to his home, And he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan; His soul shall be satisfied on Mount Ephraim and Gilead.

И возвращу́ Изра́иля на па́жить его́, и бу́дет он пасти́сь на Карми́ле и Васа́не, и душа́ его́ насы́тится на горе́ Ефре́мовой и в Галаа́де.

In those days and in that time,” says the Lord, “The iniquity of Israel shall be sought, but there shall be none; And the sins of Judah, but they shall not be found; For I will pardon those whom I preserve.

В те дни и в то вре́мя, говори́т Госпо́дь, бу́дут иска́ть непра́вды Изра́илевой, и не бу́дет её, и грехо́в Иу́ды, и не найдётся их; и́бо прощу́ тех, кото́рых оста́влю в живы́х.

“Go up against the land of Merathaim, against it, And against the inhabitants of Pekod. [g]Waste and utterly destroy them,” says the Lord, “And do according to all that I have commanded you.

Иди́ на неё, на зе́млю возмути́тельную, и накажи́ жи́телей её; опустоша́й и истребля́й всё за ни́ми, говори́т Госпо́дь, и сде́лай всё, что Я повеле́л тебе́.

A sound of battle is in the land, And of great destruction.

Шум бра́ни на земле́ и вели́кое разруше́ние!

How the hammer of the whole earth has been cut apart and broken! How Babylon has become a desolation among the nations!

Как разби́т и сокрушён мо́лот всей земли́! Как Вавило́н сде́лался у́жасом ме́жду наро́дами!

I have laid a snare for you; You have indeed been trapped, O Babylon, And you were not aware; You have been found and also caught, Because you have contended against the Lord.

Я расста́вил се́ти для тебя́, и ты по́йман, Вавило́н, не предви́дя того́; ты на́йден и схва́чен, потому́ что восста́л про́тив Го́спода.

The Lord has opened His armory, And has brought out the weapons of His indignation; For this is the work of the Lord God of hosts In the land of the Chaldeans.

Госпо́дь откры́л храни́лище Своё и взял из него́ сосу́ды гне́ва Своего́, потому́ что у Го́спода Бо́га Савао́фа есть де́ло в земле́ Халде́йской.

Come against her from the farthest border; Open her storehouses; Cast her up as heaps of ruins, And destroy her utterly; Let nothing of her be left.

Иди́те на неё со всех краёв, растворя́йте жи́тницы её, топчи́те её как снопы́, совсе́м истреби́те её, что́бы ничего́ от неё не оста́лось.

Slay all her bulls, Let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them! For their day has come, the time of their punishment.

Убива́йте всех воло́в её, пусть иду́т на закла́ние; го́ре им! и́бо пришёл день их, вре́мя посеще́ния их.

The voice of those who flee and escape from the land of Babylon Declares in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, The vengeance of His temple.

Слы́шен го́лос бегу́щих и спаса́ющихся из земли́ Вавило́нской, что́бы возвести́ть на Сио́не о мще́нии Го́спода Бо́га на́шего, о мще́нии за храм Его́.

“Call together the archers against Babylon. All you who bend the bow, encamp against it all around; Let none of them [h]escape. Repay her according to her work; According to all she has done, do to her; For she has been proud against the Lord, Against the Holy One of Israel.

Созови́те про́тив Вавило́на стрельцо́в; все, напряга́ющие лук, расположи́тесь ста́ном вокру́г него́, что́бы никто́ не спа́сся из него́; возда́йте ему́ по дела́м его́; как он поступа́л, так поступи́те и с ним, и́бо он вознёсся про́тив Го́спода, про́тив Свято́го Изра́илева.

Therefore her young men shall fall in the streets, And all her men of war shall be cut off in that day,” says the Lord.

За то паду́т ю́ноши его́ на у́лицах его́, и все во́ины его́ истреблены́ бу́дут в тот день, говори́т Госпо́дь.

“Behold, I am against you, O most haughty one!” says the Lord God of hosts; “For your day has come, [i]The time that I will punish you.

Вот, Я — на тебя́, горды́ня, говори́т Госпо́дь Бог Савао́ф; и́бо пришёл день твой, вре́мя посеще́ния твоего́.

The most proud shall stumble and fall, And no one will raise him up; I will kindle a fire in his cities, And it will devour all around him.”

И споткнётся горды́ня, и упадёт, и никто́ не подни́мет его́; и зажгу́ ого́нь в города́х его́, и пожрёт всё вокру́г него́.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: “The children of Israel were oppressed, Along with the children of Judah; All who took them captive have held them fast; They have refused to let them go.

Так говори́т Госпо́дь Савао́ф: угнетены́ сыновья́ Изра́иля, как и сыновья́ Иу́ды, и все, плени́вшие их, кре́пко де́ржат их и не хотя́т отпусти́ть их.

Their Redeemer is strong; The Lord of hosts is His name. He will thoroughly plead their case, That He may give rest to the land, And disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

Но Искупи́тель их силён, Госпо́дь Савао́ф и́мя Его́; Он разберёт де́ло их, что́бы успоко́ить зе́млю и привести́ в тре́пет жи́телей Вавило́на.

“A sword is against the Chaldeans,” says the Lord, “Against the inhabitants of Babylon, And against her princes and her wise men.

Меч на Халде́ев, говори́т Госпо́дь, и на жи́телей Вавило́на, и на князе́й его́, и на му́дрых его́;

A sword is against the soothsayers, and they will be fools. A sword is against her mighty men, and they will be dismayed.

меч на обая́телей, и они́ обезу́меют; меч на во́инов его́, и они́ оробе́ют;

A sword is against their horses, Against their chariots, And against all the mixed peoples who are in her midst; And they will become like women. A sword is against her treasures, and they will be robbed.

меч на коне́й его́ и на колесни́цы его́ и на все разноплемённые наро́ды среди́ него́, и они́ бу́дут как же́нщины; меч на сокро́вища его́, и они́ бу́дут расхи́щены;

A [j]drought is against her waters, and they will be dried up. For it is the land of carved images, And they are insane with their idols.

за́суха на во́ды его́, и они́ исся́кнут; и́бо э́то земля́ истука́нов, и они́ обезу́меют от и́дольских страши́лищ.

“Therefore the wild desert beasts shall dwell there with the jackals, And the ostriches shall dwell in it. It shall be inhabited no more forever, Nor shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

И посе́лятся там степны́е зве́ри с шака́лами, и бу́дут жить на ней стра́усы, и не бу́дет обита́ема вове́ки и населя́ема в роды́ родо́в.

As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah And their neighbors,” says the Lord, “So no one shall reside there, Nor son of man dwell in it.

Как ниспрове́ржены Бо́гом Содо́м и Гомо́рра и сосе́дние города́ их, говори́т Госпо́дь, так и тут ни оди́н челове́к не бу́дет жить, и сын челове́ческий не бу́дет остана́вливаться.

“Behold, a people shall come from the north, And a great nation and many kings Shall be raised up from the ends of the earth.

Вот, идёт наро́д от се́вера, и наро́д вели́кий, и мно́гие цари́ поднима́ются от краёв земли́;

They shall hold the bow and the lance; They are cruel and shall not show mercy. Their voice shall roar like the sea; They shall ride on horses, Set in array, like a man for the battle, Against you, O daughter of Babylon.

де́ржат в рука́х лук и копьё; они́ жесто́ки и немилосе́рдны; го́лос их шу́мен, как мо́ре; несу́тся на коня́х, вы́строились как оди́н челове́к, что́бы срази́ться с тобо́ю, дочь Вавило́на.

“The king of Babylon has heard the report about them, And his hands grow feeble; Anguish has taken hold of him, Pangs as of a woman in childbirth.

Услы́шал царь Вавило́нский весть о них, и ру́ки у него́ опусти́лись; скорбь объя́ла его́, му́ки, как же́нщину в ро́дах.

“Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the [k]floodplain of the Jordan Against the dwelling place of the strong; But I will make them suddenly run away from her. And who is a chosen man that I may appoint over her? For who is like Me? Who will arraign Me? And who is that shepherd Who will withstand Me?”

Вот, восхо́дит он, как лев, от возвыше́ния Иорда́на на укреплённые жили́ща; но Я заста́влю их поспе́шно уйти́ из него́, и, кто и́збран, тому́ вве́рю его́. И́бо кто подо́бен Мне? и кто потре́бует от Меня́ отве́та? И како́й па́стырь противоста́нет Мне?

Therefore hear the counsel of the Lord that He has taken against Babylon, And His purposes that He has proposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out; Surely He will make their dwelling place desolate with them.

Ита́к, вы́слушайте определе́ние Го́спода, како́е Он постанови́л о Вавило́не, и наме́рения Его́, каки́е Он име́ет о земле́ Халде́йской: и́стинно, са́мые ма́лые из стад повлеку́т их; и́стинно, он опустоши́т жили́ща их с ни́ми.

At the noise of the taking of Babylon The earth trembles, And the cry is heard among the nations.

От шу́ма взя́тия Вавило́на потрясётся земля́, и вопль бу́дет слы́шен ме́жду наро́дами.
