“Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; See now and know; And seek in her open places If you can find a man, If there is anyone who executes [a]judgment, Who seeks the truth, And I will pardon her.

Походи́те по у́лицам Иерусали́ма, и посмотри́те, и разве́дайте, и поищи́те на площадя́х его́, не найдёте ли челове́ка, нет ли соблюда́ющего пра́вду, и́щущего и́стины? Я пощади́л бы Иерусали́м.

Though they say, ‘As the Lord lives,’ Surely they swear falsely.”

Хотя́ и говоря́т они́: «жив Госпо́дь!», но кляну́тся ло́жно.

O Lord, are not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, But they have not grieved; You have consumed them, But they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to return.

О, Го́споди! о́чи Твои́ не к и́стине ли обращены́? Ты поража́ешь их, а они́ не чу́вствуют бо́ли; Ты истребля́ешь их, а они́ не хотя́т приня́ть вразумле́ния; ли́ца свои́ сде́лали они́ кре́пче ка́мня, не хотя́т обрати́ться.

Therefore I said, “Surely these are poor. They are foolish; For they do not know the way of the Lord, The judgment of their God.

И сказа́л я сам в себе́: э́то, мо́жет быть, бедняки́; они́ глупы́, потому́ что не зна́ют пути́ Госпо́дня, зако́на Бо́га своего́;

I will go to the great men and speak to them, For they have known the way of the Lord, The judgment of their God.” But these have altogether broken the yoke And burst the bonds.

пойду́ я к зна́тным и поговорю́ с ни́ми, и́бо они́ зна́ют путь Госпо́день, зако́н Бо́га своего́. Но и они́ все сокруши́ли ярмо́, расто́ргли у́зы.

Therefore a lion from the forest shall slay them, A wolf of the deserts shall destroy them; A leopard will watch over their cities. Everyone who goes out from there shall be torn in pieces, Because their transgressions are many; Their backslidings have increased.

За то порази́т их лев из ле́са, волк пусты́нный опустоши́т их, барс бу́дет подстерега́ть у городо́в их: кто вы́йдет из них, бу́дет расте́рзан; и́бо умно́жились преступле́ния их, уси́лились отсту́пничества их.

“How shall I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken Me And sworn by those that are not gods. When I had fed them to the full, Then they committed adultery And assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.

Как же Мне прости́ть тебя́ за э́то? Сыновья́ твои́ оста́вили Меня́ и кляну́тся те́ми, кото́рые не бо́ги. Я насыща́л их, а они́ прелюбоде́йствовали и то́лпами ходи́ли в домы́ блудни́ц.

They were like well-fed lusty stallions; Every one neighed after his neighbor’s wife.

Э́то отко́рмленные ко́ни: ка́ждый из них ржёт на жену́ друго́го.

Shall I not punish them for these things?” says the Lord. “And shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?

Неуже́ли Я не накажу́ за э́то? говори́т Госпо́дь; и не отмсти́т ли душа́ Моя́ тако́му наро́ду, как э́тот?

“Go up on her walls and destroy, But do not [b]make a complete end. Take away her branches, For they are not the Lord’s.

Восходи́те на сте́ны его́ и разруша́йте, но не до конца́; уничто́жьте зубцы́ их, потому́ что они́ не Госпо́дни;

For the house of Israel and the house of Judah Have dealt very treacherously with Me,” says the Lord.

и́бо дом Изра́илев и дом Иу́дин поступи́ли со Мно́ю о́чень вероло́мно, говори́т Госпо́дь:

They have lied about the Lord, And said, “It is not He. Neither will [c]evil come upon us, Nor shall we see sword or famine.

они́ солга́ли на Го́спода и сказа́ли: «нет Его́, и беда́ не придёт на нас, и мы не уви́дим ни меча́, ни го́лода.

And the prophets become wind, For the word is not in them. Thus shall it be done to them.”

И проро́ки ста́нут ве́тром, и сло́ва Госпо́дня нет в них; над ни́ми сами́ми пусть э́то бу́дет».

Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: “Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them.

Посему́ так говори́т Госпо́дь Бог Савао́ф: за то, что вы говори́те таки́е слова́, вот, Я сде́лаю слова́ Мои́ в уста́х твои́х огнём, а э́тот наро́д — дрова́ми, и э́тот ого́нь пожрёт их.

Behold, I will bring a nation against you from afar, O house of Israel,” says the Lord. “It is a mighty nation, It is an ancient nation, A nation whose language you do not know, Nor can you understand what they say.

Вот, Я приведу́ на вас, дом Изра́илев, наро́д издалека́, говори́т Госпо́дь, наро́д си́льный, наро́д дре́вний, наро́д, кото́рого языка́ ты не зна́ешь, и не бу́дешь понима́ть, что он говори́т.

Their quiver is like an open tomb; They are all mighty men.

Колча́н его́ — как откры́тый гроб; все они́ лю́ди хра́брые.

And they shall eat up your harvest and your bread, Which your sons and daughters should eat. They shall eat up your flocks and your herds; They shall eat up your vines and your fig trees; They shall destroy your fortified cities, In which you trust, with the sword.

И съедя́т они́ жа́тву твою́ и хлеб твой, съедя́т сынове́й твои́х и дочере́й твои́х, съедя́т ове́ц твои́х и воло́в твои́х, съедя́т виногра́д твой и смо́квы твои́; разру́шат мечо́м укреплённые города́ твои́, на кото́рые ты наде́ешься.

“Nevertheless in those days,” says the Lord, “I will not [d]make a complete end of you.

Но и в те дни, говори́т Госпо́дь, не истреблю́ вас до конца́.

And it will be when you say, ‘Why does the Lord our God do all these things to us?’ then you shall answer them, ‘Just as you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve aliens in a land that is not yours.’

И е́сли вы ска́жете: «за что Госпо́дь, Бог наш, де́лает нам всё э́то?», то отвеча́й: так как вы оста́вили Меня́ и служи́ли чужи́м бога́м в земле́ свое́й, то бу́дете служи́ть чужи́м в земле́ не ва́шей.

“Declare this in the house of Jacob And proclaim it in Judah, saying,

Объяви́те э́то в до́ме Иа́кова и возвести́те в Иуде́е, говоря́:

‘Hear this now, O foolish people, Without [e]understanding, Who have eyes and see not, And who have ears and hear not:

вы́слушай э́то, наро́д глу́пый и неразу́мный, у кото́рого есть глаза́, а не ви́дит, у кото́рого есть у́ши, а не слы́шит:

Do you not fear Me?’ says the Lord. ‘Will you not tremble at My presence, Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it? And though its waves toss to and fro, Yet they cannot prevail; Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it.

Меня́ ли вы не бои́тесь, говори́т Госпо́дь, пре́до Мно́ю ли не трепе́щете? Я положи́л песо́к грани́цею мо́рю, ве́чным преде́лом, кото́рого не перейдёт; и хотя́ во́лны его́ устремля́ются, но превозмо́чь не мо́гут; хотя́ они́ бушу́ют, но переступи́ть его́ не мо́гут.

But this people has a defiant and rebellious heart; They have revolted and departed.

А у наро́да сего́ се́рдце бу́йное и мяте́жное; они́ отступи́ли и пошли́;

They do not say in their heart, “Let us now fear the Lord our God, Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest.”

и не сказа́ли в се́рдце своём: «убои́мся Го́спода Бо́га на́шего, Кото́рый даёт нам дождь ра́нний и по́здний в своё вре́мя, храни́т для нас седми́цы, назна́ченные для жа́твы».

Your iniquities have turned these things away, And your sins have withheld good from you.

Беззако́ния ва́ши отврати́ли э́то, и грехи́ ва́ши удали́ли от вас э́то до́брое.

‘For among My people are found wicked men; They lie in wait as one who sets snares; They set a trap; They catch men.

И́бо ме́жду наро́дом Мои́м нахо́дятся нечести́вые: сторожа́т, как птицело́вы, припада́ют к земле́, ста́вят лову́шки и уловля́ют люде́й.

As a cage is full of birds, So their houses are full of deceit. Therefore they have become great and grown rich.

Как кле́тка, напо́лненная пти́цами, дома́ их полны́ обма́на; че́рез э́то они́ и возвы́сились и разбогате́ли,

They have grown fat, they are sleek; Yes, they [f]surpass the deeds of the wicked; They do not plead the cause, The cause of the fatherless; Yet they prosper, And the right of the needy they do not defend.

сде́лались ту́чны, жи́рны, переступи́ли да́же вся́кую ме́ру во зле, не разбира́ют суде́бных дел, дел сиро́т; благоде́нствуют и справедли́вому де́лу ни́щих не даю́т суда́.

Shall I not punish them for these things?’ says the Lord. ‘Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?’

Неуже́ли Я не накажу́ за э́то? говори́т Госпо́дь; и не отмсти́т ли душа́ Моя́ тако́му наро́ду, как э́тот?

“An astonishing and horrible thing Has been committed in the land:

Изуми́тельное и ужа́сное соверша́ется в сей земле́:

The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; And My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?

проро́ки проро́чествуют ложь, и свяще́нники госпо́дствуют при посре́дстве их, и наро́д Мой лю́бит э́то. Что же вы бу́дете де́лать по́сле всего́ э́того?
