Thus the Lord said to me: “Go and get yourself a linen sash, and put it [a]around your waist, but do not put it in water.”

Так сказа́л мне Госпо́дь: пойди́, купи́ себе́ льняно́й по́яс и положи́ его́ на чре́сла твои́, но в во́ду не клади́ его́.

So I got a [b]sash according to the word of the Lord, and put it around my waist.

И я купи́л по́яс, по сло́ву Госпо́дню, и положи́л его́ на чре́сла мои́.

And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying,

И бы́ло ко мне сло́во Госпо́дне в друго́й раз, и ска́зано:

“Take the [c]sash that you acquired, which is [d]around your waist, and arise, go to the [e]Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole in the rock.”

возьми́ по́яс, кото́рый ты купи́л, кото́рый на чре́слах твои́х, и встань, пойди́ к Евфра́ту и спрячь его́ там в рассе́лине скалы́.

So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as the Lord commanded me.

Я пошёл и спря́тал его́ у Евфра́та, как повеле́л мне Госпо́дь.

Now it came to pass after many days that the Lord said to me, “Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take from there the sash which I commanded you to hide there.”

По проше́ствии же мно́гих дней сказа́л мне Госпо́дь: встань, пойди́ к Евфра́ту и возьми́ отту́да по́яс, кото́рый Я веле́л тебе́ спря́тать там.

Then I went to the Euphrates and dug, and I took the [f]sash from the place where I had hidden it; and there was the sash, ruined. It was profitable for nothing.

И я пришёл к Евфра́ту, вы́копал и взял по́яс из того́ ме́ста, где спря́тал его́, и вот, по́яс был испо́рчен, ни к чему́ стал не го́ден.

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

И бы́ло ко мне сло́во Госпо́дне:

“Thus says the Lord: ‘In this manner I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.

так говори́т Госпо́дь: так сокрушу́ Я го́рдость Иу́ды и вели́кую го́рдость Иерусали́ма.

This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, who follow[g] the dictates of their hearts, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be just like this sash which is profitable for nothing.

Э́тот него́дный наро́д, кото́рый не хо́чет слу́шать слов Мои́х, живёт по упо́рству се́рдца своего́ и хо́дит восле́д ины́х бого́в, что́бы служи́ть им и поклоня́ться им, бу́дет как э́тот по́яс, кото́рый ни к чему́ не го́ден.

For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,’ says the Lord, ‘that they may become My people, for renown, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.’

И́бо, как по́яс бли́зко лежи́т к чре́слам челове́ка, так Я прибли́зил к Себе́ весь дом Изра́илев и весь дом Иу́дин, говори́т Госпо́дь, что́бы они́ бы́ли Мои́м наро́дом и Мое́ю сла́вою, хвало́ю и украше́нием; но они́ не послу́шались.

“Therefore you shall speak to them this word: ‘Thus says the Lord God of Israel: “Every bottle shall be filled with wine.” ’ “And they will say to you, ‘Do we not certainly know that every bottle will be filled with wine?’

Посему́ скажи́ им сло́во сие́: так говори́т Госпо́дь, Бог Изра́илев: вся́кий ви́нный мех наполня́ется вино́м. Они́ ска́жут тебе́: «ра́зве мы не зна́ем, что вся́кий ви́нный мех наполня́ется вино́м?»

“Then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land — even the kings who sit on David’s throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem — with drunkenness!

А ты скажи́ им: так говори́т Госпо́дь: вот, Я напо́лню вино́м до опьяне́ния всех жи́телей сей земли́ и царе́й, сидя́щих на престо́ле Дави́да, и свяще́нников, и проро́ков и всех жи́телей Иерусали́ма,

And I will dash them [h]one against another, even the fathers and the sons together,” says the Lord. “I will not pity nor spare nor have mercy, but will destroy them.” ’ ”

и сокрушу́ их друг о дру́га, и отцо́в и сынове́й вме́сте, говори́т Госпо́дь; не пощажу́ и не поми́лую, и не пожале́ю истреби́ть их.

Hear and give ear: Do not be proud, For the Lord has spoken.

Слу́шайте и внима́йте; не бу́дьте го́рды, и́бо Госпо́дь говори́т.

Give glory to the Lord your God Before He causes darkness, And before your feet stumble On the dark mountains, And while you are looking for light, He turns it into the shadow of death And makes it dense darkness.

Возда́йте сла́ву Го́споду, Бо́гу ва́шему, доко́ле Он ещё не навёл темноты́ и доко́ле ещё но́ги ва́ши не спотыка́ются на гора́х мра́ка: тогда́ вы бу́дете ожида́ть све́та, а Он обрати́т его́ в тень сме́рти и сде́лает тьмо́ю.

But if you will not hear it, My soul will weep in secret for your pride; My eyes will weep bitterly And run down with tears, Because the Lord’s flock has been taken captive.

Е́сли же вы не послу́шаете сего́, то душа́ моя́ в сокрове́нных места́х бу́дет опла́кивать го́рдость ва́шу, бу́дет пла́кать го́рько, и глаза́ мои́ бу́дут излива́ться в слеза́х; потому́ что ста́до Госпо́дне отведено́ бу́дет в плен.

Say to the king and to the queen mother, “Humble yourselves; Sit down, For your rule shall collapse, the crown of your glory.”

Скажи́ царю́ и цари́це: смири́тесь, ся́дьте пони́же, и́бо упа́л с головы́ ва́шей вене́ц сла́вы ва́шей.

The cities of the South shall be shut up, And no one shall open them; Judah shall be carried away captive, all of it; It shall be wholly carried away captive.

Ю́жные города́ за́перты, и не́кому отворя́ть их; Иу́да весь отво́дится в плен, отво́дится в плен весь соверше́нно.

Lift up your eyes and see Those who come from the north. Where is the flock that was given to you, Your beautiful sheep?

Подними́те глаза́ ва́ши и посмотри́те на иду́щих от се́вера: где ста́до, кото́рое дано́ бы́ло тебе́, прекра́сное ста́до твоё?

What will you say when He punishes you? For you have taught them To be chieftains, to be head over you. Will not pangs seize you, Like a woman in [i]labor?

Что ска́жешь, дочь Сио́на, когда́ Он посети́т тебя́? Ты сама́ приучи́ла их нача́льствовать над тобо́ю; не схва́тят ли тебя́ бо́ли, как рожда́ющую же́нщину?

And if you say in your heart, “Why have these things come upon me?” For the greatness of your iniquity Your skirts have been uncovered, Your heels [j]made bare.

И е́сли ска́жешь в се́рдце твоём: «за что пости́гло меня́ э́то?» — За мно́жество беззако́ний твои́х откры́т подо́л у тебя́, обнажены́ пяты́ твои́.

Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil.

Мо́жет ли Ефиопля́нин перемени́ть ко́жу свою́ и барс — пя́тна свои́? так и вы мо́жете ли де́лать до́брое, привы́кнув де́лать зло́е?

“Therefore I will scatter them like stubble That passes away by the wind of the wilderness.

Поэ́тому разве́ю их, как прах, разноси́мый ве́тром пусты́нным.

This is your lot, The portion of your measures from Me,” says the Lord, “Because you have forgotten Me And trusted in falsehood.

Вот жре́бий твой, отме́ренная тебе́ от Меня́ часть, говори́т Госпо́дь, потому́ что ты забы́ла Меня́ и наде́ялась на ложь.

Therefore I will uncover your skirts over your face, That your shame may appear.

За то бу́дет по́днят подо́л твой на лицо́ твоё, что́бы откры́лся срам твой.

I have seen your adulteries And your lustful neighings, The lewdness of your harlotry, Your abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! Will you still not be made clean?”

Ви́дел Я прелюбоде́йство твоё и неи́стовые похоте́ния твои́, твои́ непотре́бства и твои́ ме́рзости на холма́х в по́ле. Го́ре тебе́, Иерусали́м! ты и по́сле сего́ не очи́стишься. Доко́ле же?
