На третий день была свадьба в галилейской Кане и там была мать Иисуса.

The next daya there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,

Позвали на свадьбу также Иисуса с учениками.

and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration.

А когда кончилось вино, мать сказала Иисусу: — У них нет вина.

The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.”

Иисус ответил: — Что Мне до твоих забот, матушка? Мой час ещё не пришёл.

“Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.”

Она сказала слугам: — Делайте то, что Он скажет.

But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

А там, для очищения по еврейскому обычаю, стояло шесть каменных сосудов для воды вместимостью по две-три меры.

Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons.b

Иисус велел слугам наполнить сосуды водой. Они наполнили их доверху.

Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled,

Тогда Он сказал: — Зачерпните и отнесите распорядителю, — и они отнесли.

he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions.

Распорядитель, попробовав воду, ставшую вином — а он не знал, откуда оно, знали об этом только слуги, зачерпнувшие воду — позвал жениха

When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over.

и сказал: — Всякий хозяин сначала подаёт хорошее вино, а когда гости выпьют — худшее. А ты хорошее вино держал до сих пор!

“A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!”

Это происшествие в галилейской Кане было первым знаком, который сотворил Иисус, открыв Свою славу, и ученики поверили в Него.

This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

После этого Иисус с матерью, братьями и учениками ушел в Кфар-Нахум и там провели они несколько дней.

After the wedding he went to Capernaum for a few days with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples.

Незадолго до Пасхи, еврейского праздника, Иисус поднялся в Иерусалим.

It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration, so Jesus went to Jerusalem.

Он увидел, что в Храме продаются быки, овцы и голуби и сидят менялы.

In the Temple area he saw merchants selling cattle, sheep, and doves for sacrifices; he also saw dealers at tables exchanging foreign money.

Сделав кнут из веревок, Он выгнал из Храма всех, и овец и быков, и рассыпал деньги менял, а их столы опрокинул.

Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple. He drove out the sheep and cattle, scattered the money changers’ coins over the floor, and turned over their tables.

Продавцам голубей Он сказал: — Дом Моего Отца не превращайте в место торговли.

Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, “Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace!”

Впоследствии Его ученики вспомнили, что в Писании сказано: «Забота о Твоем доме не даст мне покоя».

Then his disciples remembered this prophecy from the Scriptures: “Passion for God’s house will consume me.”c

Евреи спросили Иисуса: — Каким знаком Ты докажешь, что вправе это делать?

But the Jewish leaders demanded, “What are you doing? If God gave you authority to do this, show us a miraculous sign to prove it.”

Иисус ответил: — Разрушьте этот Храм и Я за три дня восстановлю его.

“All right,” Jesus replied. “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

Евреи удивились: — Сорок шесть лет строился Храм, а ты восстановишь его за три дня?

“What!” they exclaimed. “It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple, and you can rebuild it in three days?”

А Он говорил о другом храме — Своем Теле.

But when Jesus said “this temple,” he meant his own body.

И когда Он встал из мертвых, ученики вспомнили эти слова и поверили Писанию и тому, что сказал Иисус.

After he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered he had said this, and they believed both the Scriptures and what Jesus had said.

Во время Его пребывания в Иерусалиме на празднике Пасхи многие в Него поверили, потому что видели, какие знаки Он сотворил.

Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in him.

Но Иисус на них не полагался, так как всех их видел насквозь.

But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew all about people.

Ему не нужно было объяснять, каков человек: Он знал и Сам, что скрывается в человеке.

No one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person’s heart.
