Когда Иисус спустился с горы, за Ним последовало множество людей.

Large crowds followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside.

Тут к Нему подошел человек, больной проказой, стал перед Ним на колени и сказал: — Господи, если Ты захочешь, то сможешь меня очистить.

Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”

Иисус протянул руку и прикоснулся к прокаженному. — Хочу, — сказал Он, — очистись! В тот же миг человек исцелился от проказы.

Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.

Тогда Иисус сказал ему: — Никому не говори об этом, но пойди, покажись священнику и принеси жертву, как велел Моисей. Это будет твоим свидетельством для других.

Then Jesus said to him, “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy.a This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”

Когда Иисус пришел в Капернаум, к Нему подошел римский сотник и попросил о помощи.

When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officerb came and pleaded with him,

— Господин, — сказал он, — мой слуга лежит дома парализованный и ужасно мучается.

“Lord, my young servantc lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.”

Иисус ответил ему: — Хорошо, Я приду и исцелю его.

Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.”

Но сотник сказал: — Господин, я не достоин, чтобы Ты вошел в мой дом. Скажи только слово, и мой слуга выздоровеет.

But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.

Я, например, подчиняюсь приказам, и у меня в подчинении тоже есть воины. Я говорю одному: "Марш!", — и он идет, другому: "Ко мне!", — и тот приходит. Когда я говорю моему слуге: "Сделай это", — он делает.

I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.”

Услышав это, Иисус удивился и сказал тем, кто шел за Ним: — Верно вам говорю, такой сильной веры Я не встречал даже у иудеев!

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!

Говорю вам, что многие придут с востока и запада и будут пировать в Небесном Царстве вместе с Авраамом, Исааком и Иаковом.

And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world — from east and west — and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven.

А те, которые родились подданными этого Царства, будут выброшены вон, во тьму, где будет плач и скрежет зубов.

But many Israelites — those for whom the Kingdom was prepared — will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

И Он сказал центуриону: — Иди! Все будет по твоей вере. И в тот же час больной слуга выздоровел.

Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour.

Придя в дом Петра, Иисус увидел, что петрова теща лежит в горячке.

When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever.

Он прикоснулся к ее руке, и жар оставил ее, она встала и начала накрывать для Него на стол.

But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her. Then she got up and prepared a meal for him.

А когда наступил вечер, к Иисусу привели много людей, одержимых демонами. Он изгнал духов словом и исцелил всех больных.

That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick.

Это было исполнением слов пророка Исайи: "Он взял на себя наши немощи и понес наши болезни".

This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”d

Когда Иисус увидел, что вокруг Него собралась большая толпа, Он велел ученикам переправиться на другую сторону озера.

When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he instructed his disciples to cross to the other side of the lake.

Тут к Нему подошел один из учителей закона и сказал: — Учитель, куда бы Ты ни пошел, я пойду за Тобой.

Then one of the teachers of religious law said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

Иисус ответил: — У лисиц есть норы, и у птиц — гнезда, а Сыну Человеческому негде и голову приклонить.

But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Mane has no place even to lay his head.”

A один из Его учеников сказал: — Господи, позволь мне сначала пойти и похоронить отца.

Another of his disciples said, “Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.”

Но Иисус ответил ему: — Иди за Мной, пусть мертвые сами хоронят своих мертвецов.

But Jesus told him, “Follow me now. Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead.f”

Иисус вошел в лодку, и ученики сели вместе с Ним.

Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples.

Когда они отплыли, начался такой шторм, что волны перекатывались через борта лодки. A Иисус в это время спал.

Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

Ученики разбудили Его: — Господи, спаси нас! Мы тонем!

The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

Иисус ответил: — Маловеры, ну что вы испугались? Он встал, запретил ветру и волнам, и наступил полный штиль.

Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

Ученики недоуменно спрашивали: — Кто же Он? Даже ветер и волны повинуются Ему!

The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

Когда Иисус прибыл на другую сторону озера, в Гадаринскую землю, навстречу Ему из могильных пещер вышли два человека, одержимые демонами. Они были такие буйные, что никто не решался проходить той дорогой.

When Jesus arrived on the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gadarenes,g two men who were possessed by demons met him. They came out of the tombs and were so violent that no one could go through that area.

— Что Ты от нас хочешь, Божий Сын? — закричали они. — Ты пришел мучить нас еще до назначенного срока?

They began screaming at him, “Why are you interfering with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before God’s appointed time?”

Поодаль паслось большое стадо свиней.

There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding in the distance.

Демоны попросили Иисуса: — Если Ты нас выгонишь, то пошли нас в это стадо свиней.

So the demons begged, “If you cast us out, send us into that herd of pigs.”

Иисус сказал им: — Идите! Выйдя из людей, демоны вошли в животных. Все стадо бросилось с обрыва в воду, и свиньи погибли.

“All right, go!” Jesus commanded them. So the demons came out of the men and entered the pigs, and the whole herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water.

А пастухи побежали в город и все рассказали, включая и то, что произошло с одержимыми.

The herdsmen fled to the nearby town, telling everyone what happened to the demon-possessed men.

Тогда все жители города вышли навстречу Иисусу, и увидев Его, попросили Его покинуть их местность.

Then the entire town came out to meet Jesus, but they begged him to go away and leave them alone.
