Іакаў, раб Бога і Госпада Іісуса Хрыста, — двана́ццаці кале́нам, якія ў рассе́янні: ра́давацца.

James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings.

За вялікую радасць прыма́йце, браты мае́, калі трапля́еце ў розныя спаку́сы,

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,

ве́даючы, што выпрабава́нне вашай веры ўтвара́е цярплівасць;

knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

цярплівасць жа павінна мець вынік даскана́лы, каб вы былí даскана́лымі і беззага́ннымі, не ма́ючы ні ў чым недахопу.

And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Калі ж каму з вас не хапа́е мудрасці, няхай про́сіць у Бога, Які дае ўсім шчодра і без папрокаў, — і будзе да́дзена яму́.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Але няхай просіць з вераю, ніколькі чым не сумнява́ючыся, бо хто сумнява́ецца, той падобны да марской хва́лі, якую вецер гоніць і шпурля́е;

But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.

няхай жа не спадзяе́цца такі чалавек атрыма́ць нешта ад Госпада.

For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,

Чалавек з раздво́енай душою — няўсто́йлівы на ўсіх шляха́х сваіх.

being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Няхай жа ганары́цца брат прынíжаны ўзвы́шанасцю сваёю,

But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;

а багаты — прынíжанасцю сваёю, бо ён знікне, як кве́цень на траве;

and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.

узышло́ спякотнае сонца і ссушы́ла траву, і кве́цень яе апа́ла, і хараство́ вы́гляду яе знікла; так і багаты на шляха́х сваіх звя́не.

For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.

Блажэ́нны чалавек, які вы́трывае спакусу, бо, прайшоўшы выпрабава́нне, ён атрыма́е вянец жыцця́, які паабяца́ў Гасподзь тым, хто лю́біць Яго.

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Пры спакушэ́нні няхай ніхто не кажа: «Бог мяне спакуша́е»; таму што Бог не можа быць спаку́шаны злом, і Сам не спакуша́е нікога,

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.

а кожны спакуша́ецца сваёю пажа́днасцю, якая яго прыва́блівае і зама́ньвае;

But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.

потым пажа́днасць, зача́ўшы, нараджа́е грэх, а ўчы́нены грэх нараджа́е смерць.

Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.

Не абма́нвайцеся, браты́ мае́ ўзлю́бленыя:

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

усякае добрае дая́нне і ўсякі даскана́лы дар сыходзіць звыш, ад Айца свяцíлаў, у Якога няма змяне́ння і нават це́ню пераме́нлівасці.

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Ён пажада́ў і нарадзíў нас сло́вам ісціны, каб мы сталі нейкім пача́ткам Яго стварэ́нняў.

In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.

Дык вось, браты мае́ ўзлю́бленыя, няхай кожны чалавек будзе хуткі да слу́хання, няспе́шны да гаварэ́ння, няспе́шны да гневу,

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;

бо гнеў чалавека не робіць яго праведным перад Богам.

for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.

Таму, адкла́ўшы ўсякую нечыстату́ і празме́рную зло́бу, лагодна прымíце пасе́янае слова, якое можа спасцí ду́шы вашы.

Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

Будзьце ж выкана́ўцамі слова, а не толькі слухача́мі, якія ашу́кваюць саміх сябе.

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

Бо хто слу́хае слова і не выко́нвае, той падобны да чалавека, што разгляда́е ў люстэ́рку свой твар, які ма́е ад нараджэ́ння:

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;

ён паглядзе́ў на сябе і адышо́ў — і адразу забыў, які ён.

for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.

Але хто спасцíгне закон даскана́лы — закон свабоды — і застане́цца ў ім, той, стаўшы не слухачо́м забы́ўлівым, а выкана́ўцам справы, блажэ́нны будзе ў дзе́йнасці сваёй.

But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

Калі хто з вас думае, што ён набо́жны, і не стры́млівае свайго языка, а падма́нвае сэ́рца сваё, то набо́жнасць яго ма́рная.

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.

Набо́жнасць чы́стая і беззага́нная перад Богам і Айцом — у тым, каб дагляда́ць сірот і ўдоў у го́ры іх і захо́ўваць сябе неапага́неным ад свету.

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
