Когда-то вы по своим преступлениям и грехам были мертвы:

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,

вы ходили путями, обычными для этого века и мира, подчинялись правителю воздушных духов — этот дух и поныне действует в тех, кто непокорен.

in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

И мы все когда-то принадлежали к их числу, следовали плотским желаниям, поступали по внушению нечистых помыслов и, как и прочие, естественным образом навлекали на себя Божий гнев.

All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesha and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

Но Божья милость изобильна, а любовь его к нам велика,

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,

и хотя мы и были мертвы по своим преступлениям, Бог оживил нас, как и Христа. Вы спасены благодатью!

made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions — it is by grace you have been saved.

Он нас воскресил и посадил в небесном мире со Христом Иисусом,

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

чтобы показать в грядущих веках, как безмерно велики Его благодать и доброта к нам, проявленные через Христа Иисуса.

in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Спасение дается вам по вашей вере как благодать, это не ваше достижение, а дар Божий,

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God —

и не по заслугам, так что хвалиться тут нечем.

not by works, so that no one can boast.

Мы — Его творение, Бог заново создал нас в единении со Христом Иисусом, чтобы нам заниматься добрыми делами, для которых Он нас и предназначил.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Итак, помните: вы когда-то были по плоти язычниками, иудеи вас называли «необрезанными», ведь они гордятся, что их плоть обрезана человеческими руками.

Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands) —

В то время вы были без Христа и чужды израильскому обществу, к вам не относились Божьи заветы и связанные с ними обещания, не на что было вам надеяться, безбожникам в этом мире.

remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.

А теперь в единении со Христом Иисусом вы, кто прежде был далек от Бога, стали Ему близки благодаря крови Христовой.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Примирение состоялось в Его телесной смерти, Он соединил обрезанных и необрезанных воедино и разрушил разделявшую их стену вражды.

For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,

Он упразднил закон с его заповедями и правилами, создал нового человека из двух разделенных половин, утвердив между ними мир.

by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,

В церкви как в едином теле Он восстановил общение с Богом для тех и других — умерев на кресте, он в Себе Самом умертвил их вражду с Богом.

and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

Он пришел с благой вестью о мире вам, кто был далеко, и тем, кто был вблизи.

He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.

И так мы, дальние и ближние, получили в Едином Духе доступ к Отцу.

For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

Итак, вы уже не чужаки, не иноземцы, но сограждане святым и свои для Бога.

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,

Вы утверждены на том самом основании, которое заложили апостолы и пророки, а его краеугольный камень — Иисус Христос.

built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

На Нем держится всё здание, которое строится как святой храм для Господа —

In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.

и вы сами под воздействием Духа становитесь домом, где обитает Бог.

And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
