Кто хочет быть мудрым, принимает поучение с радостью, тот же, кому ненавистно обличение, — глупец.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid.

Господь счастлив благословить доброго человека, а злого Господь осудит.

A good man will obtain favor from the LORD, But He will condemn a man who devises evil.

Зло не утвердит человека; корень же праведного не завянет.

A man will not be established by wickedness, But the root of the righteous will not be moved.

Благородной женой муж гордится, а позорящая женщина — словно смертельная болезнь.

An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who shames him is like rottenness in his bones.

Добрые люди честны в своих планах, но не доверяй планам коварных.

The thoughts of the righteous are just, But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.

Злые люди причиняют боль своими словами, слова достойного человека способны спасти от опасности.

The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, But the mouth of the upright will deliver them.

От злого человека ничего не остаётся после крушения, доброго человека люди помнят долго после его ухода.

The wicked are overthrown and are no more, But the house of the righteous will stand.

Мудрого все восхваляют, и не уважают глупца.

A man will be praised according to his insight, But one of perverse mind will be despised.

Лучше быть никому неизвестным и иметь слугу, чем выдавать себя за знатного, но не иметь еды.

Better is he who is lightly esteemed and has a servant Than he who honors himself and lacks bread.

Добрый человек всегда заботится о своей скотине, злой же жесток даже в своей самой великой доброте.

A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal, But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.

Кто трудится на своей земле, будет иметь много хлеба, глупцы же теряют время на бессмысленные выдумки.

He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, But he who pursues worthless things lacks sense.

Злые люди всегда хотят сделать что-нибудь злое, но у добрых много сил, уходящих в глубину, словно корни.

The wicked man desires the booty of evil men, But the root of the righteous yields fruit.

Злобный ловится на глупости собственных слов, добрый всегда избежит любой беды.

An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, But the righteous will escape from trouble.

Добрый человек насытится плодами сказанного им. Человек будет вознаграждён за свои труды!

A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words, And the deeds of a man’s hands will return to him.

Глупец считает свой путь лучшим, мудрый прислушивается к советам других.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But a wise man is he who listens to counsel.

Быстро в гнев впадает глупец, но мудрый прощает ошибки других.

A fool’s anger is known at once, But a prudent man conceals dishonor.

Сказанному добрым человеком можно доверять, свидетельство же лжецов — обман.

He who speaks truth tells what is right, But a false witness, deceit.

Слова говорящего бездумно ранят, как меч. Мудрый осторожен со словом, и слова его могут вылечить раны.

There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Слова лжеца исчезают быстро, слова правды будут жить вечно.

Truthful lips will be established forever, But a lying tongue is only for a moment.

Злые стремятся к коварству, но счастлив будет тот, кто сеет мир.

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy.

Добрые люди будут сохранены Богом, но злых людей ожидают препятствия.

No harm befalls the righteous, But the wicked are filled with trouble.

Господь ненавидит лжецов и счастлив, когда звучит правда.

Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, But those who deal faithfully are His delight.

Разумный не выставляет напоказ свои знания, слова глупца говорят о его глупости.

A prudent man conceals knowledge, But the heart of fools proclaims folly.

Кто много трудится, будет управлять другими, ленивый будет работать, как раб.

The hand of the diligent will rule, But the slack hand will be put to forced labor.

Заботы могут лишить человека счастья, но доброе слово способно сделать его счастливым.

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.

Добрый человек осторожен в выборе друзей, злые выбирают себе подобных.

The righteous is a guide to his neighbor, But the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Ленивый не пойдёт за тем, о чём мечтает, но к тому, кто трудится много, приходит успех.

A lazy man does not roast his prey, But the precious possession of a man is diligence.

Тропа добродетели ведёт к жизни — это путь к бессмертию!

In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death.
