Шестью днями позже Иисус взял Петра, Иакова и его брата Иоанна и втайне от всех повёл их на высокую гору.

Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;

У них на глазах он начал принимать другой облик: его лицо засияло, подобно солнцу, а одежда стала белой, как свет.

and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.

Затем они взглянули и увидели, что он разговаривает с Моисеем и Илией.

And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.

Петр сказал Иисусу: "Хорошо, что мы здесь, Господь. Если хочешь, я поставлю три шатра — один для тебя, один для Моисея и один для Илии".

Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, [a]let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

Пока он говорил, их окутало светлое облако; и голос из облака сказал: "Это Мой Сын, любимый Мною, которым Я весьма доволен. Слушайте его!"

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”

Услышав это, ученики так перепугались, что упали на землю лицом вниз.

And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.

Но Иисус подошёл и прикоснулся к ним. "Встаньте! — сказал он, — не бойтесь".

But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.”

И они открыли глаза, взглянули и кроме Иисуса никого не увидели.

When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.

Пока они спускались с горы, Иисус велел им: "Не рассказывайте никому о том, что видели, до тех пор, пока Сын Человеческий не воскреснет из мёртвых".

Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.”

Ученики спросили у него: "Почему же книжники говорят, что сначала должен прийти Илия?"

And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

Он ответил: "Во-первых, Илия придёт и восстановит всё;

Jesus answered and said to them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming [b]first and will restore all things.

во-вторых, говорю вам, что Илия уже пришёл, но люди не узнали его, а поступили с ним так, как посчитали нужным. Так же и Сын Человеческий вскоре пострадает от них.

But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands.”

Тогда ученики поняли, что он говорил им о Иоанне Крестителе.

Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist.

Когда они приблизились к народу, к Иисусу подошёл один человек, встал перед ним на колени

And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying,

и сказал: "Господин, сжалься над моим сыном, он эпилептик, и у него бывают такие ужасные приступы, что часто он бросается в огонь или в воду.

“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is [c]an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.

Я привёл его к твоим ученикам, но они не смогли его вылечить.

So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”

Иисус отвечал: "Извращённый народ без малейшей веры! Сколько же ещё мне быть с вами? Сколько же я должен терпеть вас? Приведите мне его сюда!"

Then Jesus answered and said, “O [d]faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.”

Иисус запретил бесу, и тот вышел из мальчика, и с этого момента он был здоров.

And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.

Тогда ученики одни подошли к нему и спросили: "Почему мы не смогли изгнать его?"

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”

Он сказал им: "Потому что у вас так мало веры! Да! Говорю вам, что если бы у вас была вера величиной с горчичное семя, вы бы смогли сказать этой горе: 'Передвинься отсюда туда!', и она бы передвинулась; в самом деле, для вас не было бы ничего невозможного!"

So Jesus said to them, “Because of your [e]unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

[f]However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Когда они вместе шли в Галилею, Иисус сказал им: "Сына Человеческого скоро предадут в руки людей,

Now while they were [g]staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men,

которые убьют его, а на третий день он воскреснет". И они сильно огорчились.

and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up.” And they were exceedingly sorrowful.

Когда они пришли в Капернаум, к Петру подошли люди, собиравшие по полшекеля, и сказали: "А твой раби платит налог на Храм?"

When they had come to [h]Capernaum, those who received the [i]temple tax came to Peter and said, “Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?”

"Конечно платит", — ответил Петр. Когда он вошёл в дом, первым заговорил Иисус: "Симон, как ты думаешь, с кого земные цари собирают пошлины и налоги? Со своих сыновей или с остальных людей?"

He said, “Yes.” And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?”

"С остальных", — ответил тот. "Тогда, — сказал Иисус, — сыновья свободны от этой повинности.

Peter said to Him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.

Но чтобы не дать им повода для обиды, пойди на озеро, забрось удочку и возьми первую рыбу, которую поймаешь. Откроешь ей рот и найдёшь монету. Возьми её и отдай им за меня и за себя."

Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a [j]piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.”
