Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

К тому же, братья, и вы моли́тесь о нас, чтобы нам распространять слово Господне к Его славе, как это было и с вами,

And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

и чтобы нам избавиться от людей никчемных и дурных — ведь вера есть не во всех.

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

Но верен Господь, Он сбережет и защитит нас от зла!

And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.

И насчет вас мы положились на Господа, ведь вы соблюдаете и будете дальше соблюдать то, что мы вам возвещаем,

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

а Господь направит ваши сердца к любви Божьей и к терпению Христову.

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Объявляем вам, братья, во имя Господа нашего Иисуса Христа: сторонитесь всякого человека, который ведет себя нагло, вопреки тому преданию, которое вы приняли от нас.

For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

Вы ведь и сами знаете, что следует подражать нам, а мы не допускали никакой наглости:

Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

ни у кого не ели мы дармового хлеба, днем и ночью трудились тяжело и усердно, лишь бы не быть кому-то из вас в тягость.

Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

И это не оттого, что нет у нас таких прав, а чтобы дать вам пример для подражания.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Еще когда мы были у вас, так и объявили вам: если кто не хочет трудиться, то пусть и не ест.

For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

Мы слышим, что некоторые ведут себя с вами нагло: сами никак не трудятся, но во всё вмешиваются.

Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

Таких мы призываем и убеждаем именем Господа Иисуса Христа успокоиться, заняться трудом и есть заработанный хлеб.

But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

А вы, братья, неустанно творите добро!

And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

Если же кто не послушает слов этого нашего послания, отделите его особо и не общайтесь с ним, пусть устыдится.

Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

Но не относитесь к нему как к врагу, а вразумляйте как брата.

Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

Сам Господь, дающий мир, пусть дарует вам всяческий мир во всём. Господь со всеми вами!

The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.

Я пишу приветствие собственной рукой — это во всяком послании признак, что оно действительно от меня, Павла.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. { The second epistle to the Thessalonians was written from Athens. }
