Затем Дух увёл Иисуса в пустыню, чтобы испытал Его Дьявол.

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

И Он постился сорок дней и ночей, а под конец почувствовал голод.

And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry.

Тогда подступил к Нему Испытующий и сказал: «Если Ты — Божий Сын, вели этим камням превратиться в хлеб».

And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

Он ответил: «В Писании сказано: Не только хлебом жив человек, но и всяким словом, исходящим от Бога11».

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’”

Тогда привёл Его Дьявол в святой город и, поставив на крышу Храма,

Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,

сказал: «Если Ты — Божий Сын, бросайся вниз! Ведь в Писании сказано:Своим ангелам Он поручит Тебя, и они понесут Тебя на руках, и Ты даже камня ногой не заденешь12.

and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU’; and ‘ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.’”

Иисус ответил: «В Писании сказано и другое: Не испытывай своего Бога, Господа13».

Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’”

Тогда Дьявол повёл Его на очень высокую гору и, показав Ему все царства мира в их славе, сказал:

Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;

«Всё это я дам Тебе, если Ты падёшь ниц и поклонишься мне».

and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.”

Иисус ответил: «Прочь, Сатана! В Писании сказано: Своему Богу, Господу, поклоняйся и только Ему служи14».

Then Jesus said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’”

Тогда Дьявол Его оставил. И вот, явились ангелы и прислуживали Ему.

Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him.

Узнав, что Иоанн уже выдан и схвачен, Иисус ушёл в Галилею,

Now when Jesus heard that John had been taken into custody, He withdrew into Galilee;

но не остался в Назарете, а поселился в приморском городке Кфар-Нахум, в земле Зевулуна и Нафтали,

and leaving Nazareth, He came and settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.

чтобы исполнилось пророчество Исайи:

This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet:

Земля Зевулуна и земля Нафтали, край приморский, Заиорданье, Галилея — страна иноверцев!

“THE LAND OF ZEBULUN AND THE LAND OF NAPHTALI, BY THE WAY OF THE SEA, BEYOND THE JORDAN, GALILEE OF THE GENTILES —

Народ, живущий во тьме, увидел великий свет, свет взошёл над страной смертной тени!15

“THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN DARKNESS SAW A GREAT LIGHT, AND THOSE WHO WERE SITTING IN THE LAND AND SHADOW OF DEATH, UPON THEM A LIGHT DAWNED.”

С того времени Иисус стал возвещать: «Вернитесь к Богу, ибо Царство Небесное близко».

From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Идя по берегу Галилейского моря, Он увидел двух братьев — Шимона, называемого Петром, и его брата Андрея, рыбаков — они закидывали в море сети.

Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

Он сказал им: «Идите за мной, и Я сделаю вас ловцами людей!»

And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Они, тотчас бросив сети, последовали за Ним.

Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.

Продолжая путь, Он увидел двух других братьев — Иакова, сына Завдая, с братом Иоанном — они со своим отцом Завдаем чинили сети в лодке, и Он позвал их.

Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them.

Они, оставив лодку и отца, последовали за Ним.

Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

Он ходил по всей Галилее и учил народ в синагогах, возвещая Царство и исцеляя все болезни и пороки в Израиле.

Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.

Молва о Нём прошла по всей Сирии, и к нему приносили страдавших разными недугами и болезнями, одержимых духами, больных падучей и паралитиков, и Он их исцелял.

The news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them.

За Ним ходили большие толпы людей из Галилеи, Десятиградия, Иерусалима, Иудеи и Заиорданья.

Large crowds followed Him from Galilee and the Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan.
