So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

Стало быть, ныне вовсе неподсудны те, что во Христе Иисусе,

And because you belong to him, the powera of the life-giving Spirit has freed youb from the power of sin that leads to death.

ибо закон Духа, дарующего жизнь во Христе Иисусе, освободил нас от закона греха и смерти.

The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature.c So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

Для закона (Моисея), ослабленного плотью, это оказалось невозможным, поэтому из-за (человеческого) греха Бог послал в подобии греховной плоти Своего Собственного Сына осудить грех во плоти,

He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.

дабы праведность, предписанная законом, исполнилась в нас, сообразующих свои поступки не с плотью, а с духом.

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.

В самом деле, те, что живут, сообразуясь с плотью, — помышляют о плотском, те же, что сообразуются с духом, — о духовном,

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

плотские же помыслы — это смерть, а помыслы о духовном — это жизнь и мир,

For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.

потому что плотские помыслы враждебны Богу, ибо плоть не хочет, да и не может покориться закону Божьему,

That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.

и те, что живут, сообразуясь с плотью, угодны Богу быть не могут.

But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

Вы же сообразуетесь не с плотью, а с духом, поскольку Дух Божий обитает в вас. Если же кто Духа Христова не имеет, тот не принадлежит Ему.

And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you lifed because you have been made right with God.

Если же Христос в вас, то хотя из-за греха тело умерло, но дух жив благодаря праведности,

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

и поскольку Дух Того, Кто воскресил из мертвых Иисуса, обитает в вас, Дух Того, Кто воскресил Христа из мертвых, оживит и ваши смертные тела Духом Своим, обитающим в вас.

Therefore, dear brothers and sisters,e you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.

Таким образом, братья, мы не должники плоти, чтобы жить, сообразуясь с плотью,

For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature,f you will live.

ибо, если вы живёте, сообразуясь с плотью, можете погибнуть, если же духом умертвите деятельность тела, будете жить,

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are childreng of God.

поскольку все, ведомые Духом Божьим, — сыновья Божьи.

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children.h Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”i

Вы не приняли вновь — из страха — дух рабства, но восприняли Дух усыновления, пребывая в котором, мы взываем: Авва, Отче!

For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.

Сам Дух вместе с нашим духом свидетельствует, что мы — дети Божьи,

And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

а если дети, то и наследники: наследники Божьи, наследники вместе с Христом, поскольку с Ним вместе страдаем, дабы вместе с Ним быть и прославленными.

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

Ибо, полагаю, нынешние страдания ничто по сравнению с будущей славой, которая откроется в вас;

For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.

вся природа трепетно уповает на откровение (славы) детей Божьих,

Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope,

ибо природа не сама покорилась суетности бытия, но волею Того, Кто покорил её;

the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

покорилась в надежде, что и она, природа, будет призвана из рабства тления к свободе славы детей Божьих.

For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

Ведь мы знаем, что вся природа совокупно до сих пор стенает и мучается, как в муках рождения,

And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children,j including the new bodies he has promised us.

но не только: мы сами, хоть и имеем в основе Дух (Святой), молча стенаем, уповая на усыновление, на освобождение нашего тела (из рабства тления),

We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hopek for it.

ибо мы были спасены в надежде. Надежда же, когда она очевидна, — не надежда; ведь кому она очевидна, зачем ему надеяться?

But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)

Если же мы надеемся не на очевидное, то действительно уповаем,

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

а также и Дух (Святой) укрепляет бессилие наше, ибо мы не знаем даже, о чём и как мы должны молиться, но Сам Дух ходатайствует о нас воздыханиями неизреченными.

And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believersl in harmony with God’s own will.

Тот же, Кто испытывает сердца, знает, о чём думает Дух, потому что Он по воле Божьей ходатайствует о святых.

And we know that God causes everything to work togetherm for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

А мы знаем, что любящим Бога, призванным по изволению Его, Он во всём споспешествует ко благу,

For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstbornn among many brothers and sisters.

потому что в предвидении Своем Он предопределил им быть подобными образу Сына Своего, Который станет во главе многих братьев;

And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

а кого предопределил — того и призвал, кого призвал — того и оправдал, кого же оправдал — того и прославил.

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

Итак, что скажем на это? Если Бог за нас, кто против нас?

Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

И Тот, Кто Сына Своего не пощадил, но предал Его (смерти) за всех нас, не дарует ли нам вместе с Ним все остальное?

Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one — for God himself has given us right standing with himself.

Кто обвинит избранников Божьих? — Бог оправдывающий.

Who then will condemn us? No one — for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Кто осудит? — Христос Иисус, Который умер, но воскрес и, будучи одесную от Бога, ходатайствует за нас.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

Что отлучит нас от любви Христовой: скорбь ли, невзгоды, преследования, голод, лишения, напасти или меч (палача)?

(As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”o)

Как написано: из-за Тебя нас убивают каждый день, словно овец, ведомых на заклание.

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Но все это мы преодолеваем благодаря Тому, Кто возлюбил нас,

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,p neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow — not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

ибо я убежден, что ни смерть, ни жизнь, ни ангелы, ни демоны, ни настоящее, ни будущее, никакие силы —

No power in the sky above or in the earth below — indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ни высшие, ни низшие — и ничто другое во вселенной не сможет отлучить нас от любви Божьей во Христе Иисусе, Господе нашем.
