The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

Было мне слово ГОСПОДНЕ:

Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus;

«Смертный! Оплачь Тир,1

And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.

возвести ему, живущему у врат морских, ведущему обширную торговлю с народами побережья,2 что говорит о нем Владыка ГОСПОДЬ: „О Тир! Ты говоришь: „Я — корабль величавый!“3

Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

Пределы твои далеко простираются в море,4 лучше прежнего украсили тебя зодчие.

They have made all thy ship boards of fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.

На борта твои пошли сенирские кипарисы, а на мачту — ливанский кедр.

Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.

Из дубов башанских сделали тебе весла, палубу — из кипрского самшита5 и слоновой кости.

Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee.

Разноцветные египетские ткани стали тебе парусами — они же и флагами тебе служили, а из голубого и пурпурного полотна с побережья Элиши сшили тебе полог.

The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyrus, that were in thee, were thy pilots.

Жители Сидона и Арвада служили у тебя гребцами, а кормчими твоими были искусные тирские мореплаватели.

The ancients of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise.

Были у тебя опытные мастера из Библа,6 те, что швы твои конопатили.7 Стекались к тебе все морские корабли с мореходами, чтобы вести с тобой торговлю.

They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.

В войске твоем служили персы, лидийцы и ливийцы, свои щиты и шлемы развешивали они на стены твои, придавая тебе величие.

The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect.

Воины8 Арвада и Хелеха9 стерегли твои стены, а на башнях стояли дозорные из Гаммада. Развешивали они свои малые щиты по стенам, лучше прежнего украсили тебя.

Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.

Торговал с тобой Таршиш, ибо богатства было у тебя в изобилии; платил он за твои товары серебром, железом, свинцом и оловом.

Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.

Греция,10 Тувал и Мешех торговали с тобою, отдавая за твое добро рабов и медную посуду.

They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.

Бет-Тогарма платила за твои товары лошадьми, скаковыми конями и мулами.

The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.

Торговали с тобой люди из Дедана, из многих приморских стран, где ты вел торговлю, — они платили тебе дань слоновой костью и черным деревом.

Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.

Торговали с тобой арамеи11 — так много было у тебя всякого добра! — платили они за твои товары бирюзой и пурпуром, разноцветными тканями и льном, кораллами и рубинами.

Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.

Торговали с тобой Иудея и Израиль, отдавая за твои товары пшеницу из Миннита, сладости, мед, масло оливковое и бальзам.

Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.

Торговал с тобой Дамаск хелбонским вином и белой шерстью12 — так много было у тебя всякого добра, несметного богатства!

Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.

Дан и греки из Уззала платили за твои товары кованым железом, меняли их на кассию и благовонный тростник.

Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.

Дедан торговал с тобой роскошными попонами для верховой езды.

Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants.

Аравия и князья кедарские приходили к тебе торговать, предлагая в обмен овец, баранов и козлов.

The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

Торговали с тобой купцы из Шевы и Раамы, платили за твои товары отборными благовониями, разными драгоценными камнями и золотом.

Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.

И Харан, и Канне, и Эден, и купцы из Шевы, Ассирии и Килмада торговали с тобой.

These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.

Они привозили на твои рынки роскошные одежды, голубые и разноцветные ткани, двуцветные ковры, скрученные и надежно перевязанные.13

The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.

Корабли из Таршиша развозили повсюду твои товары. Переполнены и загружены были хранилища твои посреди морей.14

Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.

И вот гребцы твои вывели тебя в открытое море, но вихрь с востока погубит15 тебя посреди морей.

Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.

Твое богатство, твои товары, твои грузы, твои корабельщики и кормчие, те, кто твои конопатил швы и кто торговал твоим товаром, и все воины, а с ними и всё полчище находящихся с тобой — все сгинут посреди морей в день твоего падения!

The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.

От вопля твоих кормчих содрогнутся окрестности городов,

And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;

сойдут на сушу со своих кораблей все гребцы, морские корабельщики и кормчие

And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:

и во весь голос о тебе зарыдают, посыпая прахом головы, заплачут горько, бросившись наземь.16

And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.

В знак траура обреются они наголо, в рубище облачатся и от глубокой скорби зарыдают о тебе горьким плачем.

And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?

В неутешном горе они сложат о тебе погребальный плач: „Кто подобен Тиру, уничтоженному среди моря?

When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.

Когда с морей прибывали твои товары, насыщал ты многие народы. Великое твое богатство, твоя торговля обогащали земных царей.

In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.

А теперь ты в глубине вод, штормом17 разбит, товары твои и полчище твое вместе с тобой утонули!“

All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.

Ужаснулись твоей участи все жители побережий, содрогнулись цари, страх исказил их лица.

The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.

Иноземные торговцы заохают,18 заслышав о тебе: страшна твоя участь, ты сгинул навеки!“»
