The wisdom of women buildeth their house; but folly plucketh it down with her hands.
 
Мудрая женщина создаёт дом свой благодаря мудрости, а глупая разрушает его своей же глупостью.

He that walketh in his uprightness feareth Jehovah; but he that is perverted in his ways despiseth him.
 
Живущий праведно чтит Господа, а кто неискренен, тот Господом пренебрегает.
3
In the fool's mouth is a rod of pride; but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
 
Речи глупого причиняют множество бед. Речь мудрого от бед хранит.
4
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean; but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
 
Если нет быков для работы, то амбар будет пуст. Для доброго урожая люди используют силу быков.

A faithful witness will not lie; but a false witness uttereth lies.
 
Честный человек никогда не лжёт — он надёжный свидетель. Лживый человек лжёт постоянно — он лжесвидетель.

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and there is none [for him]; but knowledge is easy unto the intelligent.
 
Насмехающиеся над Богом ищут мудрости, но никогда не найдут. Мудры только те, кто верят в Бога, к ним знание приходит легко.

Go from the presence of a foolish man, in whom thou perceivest not the lips of knowledge.
 
Не становись другом глупца, он ничему тебя не научит.

The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way; but the folly of the foolish is deceit.
 
Разумные мудры — они обдумывают свои поступки. Глупые неразумны — они считают, что можно прожить обманом.

Fools make a mock at trespass; but for the upright there is favour.
 
Глупцы не верят в расплату за грехи. Добрые же — усердно молят о всепрощении.

The heart knoweth its own bitterness, and a stranger doth not intermeddle with its joy.
 
Никто не прочувствует печали сильнее, чем опечаленный человек. И радость свою до конца прочувствовать может только он сам.
11
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown; but the tent of the upright shall flourish.
 
Дом злого человека разорится, дом праведника будет процветать.
12
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof is the ways of death.
 
Иной путь кажется человеку правильным, но он ведёт только к смерти.
13
Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful, and the end of mirth is sadness.
 
Человек может быть печальным, даже когда он смеётся. Проходит веселье, а печаль его остаётся с ним.
14
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways, and the good man from what is in himself.
 
За всё содеянное злые люди заплатят, а доброму воздается за добро.
15
The simple believeth every word; but the prudent [man] heedeth his going.
 
Глупый верит всему, что слышит, а мудрый размышляет обо всём.
16
A wise [man] feareth and departeth from evil; but the foolish is overbearing and confident.
 
Мудрый чтит Господа и сторонится зла. Глупый поступает бездумно и неосторожно.
17
He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly, and a man of mischievous devices is hated.
 
Вспыльчивый делает глупости, но мудрый всегда терпелив.
18
The simple inherit folly; but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
 
Глупцы унаследуют ещё большую глупость, мудрым же воздаётся знанием.
19
The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous [man].
 
Добрые одолеют злых, склониться придётся злым.
20
He that is poor is hated even of his own neighbour; but the rich hath many friends.
 
Бедного даже собственный сосед отвергает, богатого же принимают многие.
21
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth; but he that is gracious to the afflicted, happy is he.
 
Не думай плохо о ближнем, и, если хочешь счастья, будь добр к бедным людям.
22
Do they not err that devise evil? but loving-kindness and truth are for those that devise good.
 
Зло задумавший, заблуждается, а творящий добро, будет иметь истинно преданных друзей.
23
In all labour there is profit; but the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to want.
 
Упорный труд ведёт к изобилию, излишняя разговорчивость — к убытку.
24
The crown of the wise is their riches; the folly of the foolish is folly.
 
Мудрым воздаётся богатством, но глупому глупостью.
25
A true witness delivereth souls; but deceit uttereth lies.
 
Свидетельствующий правду, помогает другим, лгущий, наносит раны людям.

In the fear of Jehovah is strong confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge.
 
Чтущий Господа обладает великой уверенностью, и у детей его будет прибежище.
27
The fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life, to turn away from the snares of death.
 
Почитание Господа даёт настоящую жизнь и спасает от ловушек смерти.
28
In the multitude of people is the king's glory; but in the lack of people is the ruin of a prince.
 
Множество подданных несёт величие царю, а малочисленное государство ничего не стоит.
29
He that is slow to anger is of great understanding; but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
 
Терпеливый имеет ум, но неразумен во гнев впадающий.
30
A sound heart is the life of the flesh; but envy the rottenness of the bones.
 
Здоровый разум в здоровом теле, зависть же — смертельная болезнь, проникающая до самых костей.
31
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker; but he that honoureth Him is gracious to the needy.
 
Причиняющий зло бедному, не уважает Бога, ибо Бог сотворил и тех, и других.
32
The wicked is driven away by his evil-doing; but the righteous trusteth, [even] in his death.
 
В минуты несчастий злые терпят поражение, но добрые побеждают даже в смерти.
33
Wisdom resteth in the heart of the intelligent [man]; but that which is in the foolish maketh itself known.
 
Мудрый всегда думает о мудром. Глупый не знает, что такое мудрость.
34
Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to peoples.
 
Доброта возвеличивает народ, но грех — позор народов.
35
The king's favour is toward a wise servant; but his wrath is [against] him that causeth shame.
 
Доволен царь своими мудрыми помощниками, и в гневе царь на тех, кто позорит его.
