This is the Good News about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God.a It began

Пачатак Евангелля Ісуса Хрыста, Сына Божага.

just as the prophet Isaiah had written: “Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way.b

Як напісана ў Ісаі прарока: «Вось жа, Я пасылаю Анёла Майго перад абліччам Тваім, які прыгатуе дарогу Тваю перад Табой.

He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the LORD’s coming! Clear the road for him!’c”

Голас таго, хто кліча ў пустыні: “Прыгатуйце дарогу Госпаду, прастуйце сцежкі Яму”».

This messenger was John the Baptist. He was in the wilderness and preached that people should be baptized to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven.

З’явіўся Ян у пустыні, хрысцячы і абвяшчаючы хрост навяртання дзеля адпушчэння грахоў.

All of Judea, including all the people of Jerusalem, went out to see and hear John. And when they confessed their sins, he baptized them in the Jordan River.

І прыходзіла да яго ўся краіна Юдэйская і ўсе ерузалімцы, і, вызнаючы грахі свае, былі ім хрышчаны ў рацэ Ярдан.

His clothes were woven from coarse camel hair, and he wore a leather belt around his waist. For food he ate locusts and wild honey.

Ян жа быў апрануты ў вярблюджы волас ды падпяразаны скураной дзяжкай па сваіх сцёгнах і еў саранчу і дзікі мёд.

John announced: “Someone is coming soon who is greater than I am — so much greater that I’m not even worthy to stoop down like a slave and untie the straps of his sandals.

І навучаў ён, кажучы: «Ідзе за мной дужэйшы за мяне, Якому я не варты, пакланіўшыся, развязаць рамень пасталоў Яго.

I baptize you withd water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit!”

Я хрышчу вас вадой, а Ён будзе хрысціць вас Духам Святым».

One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and John baptized him in the Jordan River.

І сталася: у тыя дні прыйшоў Ісус з Назарэта Галілейскага і быў ахрышчаны Янам у Ярдане.

As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on hime like a dove.

І, як толькі выходзіў з вады, убачыў адкрытыя нябёсы ды Духа, як голуба, што сыходзіў на Яго.

And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.”

І азваўся голас з неба: «Ты — Сын Мой улюбёны, упадабаў Я Цябе».

The Spirit then compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness,

І зараз вядзе Яго Дух у пустыню.

where he was tempted by Satan for forty days. He was out among the wild animals, and angels took care of him.

І Ён прабыў у пустыні сорак дзён, і выпрабоўваўся шатанам; і жыў побач са звярамі, і анёлы паслугавалі Яму.

Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News.f

А пасля таго, як Ян быў узяты, прыбыў Ісус у Галілею, прапаведуючы добрую вестку Валадарства Божага

“The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”

і кажучы: «Споўніўся час, і наблізілася Валадарства Божае. Навярніцеся і верце Евангеллю!»

One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simong and his brother Andrew throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living.

І, праходзячы каля мора Галілейскага, убачыў Сімона і брата яго Андрэя, што закідалі сеткі ў мора; бо былі яны рыбаловамі.

Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”

І сказаў ім Ісус: «Ідзіце за Мной, і Я зраблю вас лаўцамі людзей».

And they left their nets at once and followed him.

І адразу, пакінуўшы сеткі свае, яны пайшлі за Ім следам.

A little farther up the shore Jesus saw Zebedee’s sons, James and John, in a boat repairing their nets.

І, адышоўшыся адтуль недалёка, убачыў Якуба Зебядзеева і Яна, брата яго, калі яны парадкавалі сеткі свае ў лодцы.

He called them at once, and they also followed him, leaving their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired men.

І зараз паклікаў іх. І яны, пакінуўшы ў лодцы бацьку свайго Зебядзея з нанятымі работнікамі, пайшлі за Ім.

Jesus and his companions went to the town of Capernaum. When the Sabbath day came, he went into the synagogue and began to teach.

І ўваходзяць у Кафарнаўм. І адразу ў суботу, увайшоўшы ў сінагогу, стаў навучаць.

The people were amazed at his teaching, for he taught with real authority — quite unlike the teachers of religious law.

І ўсе дзівіліся з Яго навукі, бо вучыў іх, як Той, Хто мае ўладу, а не як кніжнікі.

Suddenly, a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evilh spirit cried out,

І акурат у сінагозе быў чалавек, апанаваны духам нячыстым, і крычаў,

“Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are — the Holy One of God!”

кажучы: «Што Табе да нас, Ісус з Назарэта? Прыйшоў загубіць нас? Ведаю, Хто Ты: Святы Божы».

But Jesus reprimanded him. “Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered.

Але прыгразіў яму Ісус, кажучы: «Замаўчы і выйдзі з яго!»

At that, the evil spirit screamed, threw the man into a convulsion, and then came out of him.

І нячысты дух, скалануўшы яго і крычучы моцным голасам, выйшаў з яго.

Amazement gripped the audience, and they began to discuss what had happened. “What sort of new teaching is this?” they asked excitedly. “It has such authority! Even evil spirits obey his orders!”

І задзівіліся ўсе, ды пыталіся адзін аднаго, кажучы: «Што гэта такое? Ды што за навука гэта новая з уладаю, што загадвае нячыстым духам, і яны слухаюцца Яго?»

The news about Jesus spread quickly throughout the entire region of Galilee.

І хутка разышлася чутка пра Яго па ўсёй Галілейскай краіне.

After Jesus left the synagogue with James and John, they went to Simon and Andrew’s home.

І адразу, выйшаўшы з сінагогі, прыбылі з Якубам і Янам ў дом Сімона і Андрэя.

Now Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. They told Jesus about her right away.

Цешча ж Сімона ляжала ў гарачцы, і адразу кажуць Яму пра яе.

So he went to her bedside, took her by the hand, and helped her sit up. Then the fever left her, and she prepared a meal for them.

І, падышоўшы, Ісус падняў яе, узяўшы за руку, і [адразу] пакінула яе гарачка, і яна паслугавала ім.

That evening after sunset, many sick and demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus.

А калі сонца ўжо зайшло і настаў вечар, прыносілі да Яго ўсіх нямоглых і апанаваных дэманамі;

The whole town gathered at the door to watch.

і так увесь горад сабраўся перад дзвярамі.

So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and he cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak.

І аздаравіў многіх, якіх розныя хваробы мучылі, і многіх дэманаў выгнаў, ды не дазваляў дэманам гаварыць, што яны ведалі Яго.

Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.

І досвіткам, вельмі рана ўстаўшы, выйшаў і падаўся ў пустыннае месца і там маліўся.

Later Simon and the others went out to find him.

Сімон жа ды тыя, што з Ім былі, пайшлі за Ім.

When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

І, калі знайшлі Яго, кажуць Яму: «Усе Цябе шукаюць».

But Jesus replied, “We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came.”

А Ён кажа ім: «Пойдзем у бліжэйшыя паселішчы, каб і там вясціць; бо Я дзеля таго прыйшоў».

So he traveled throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and casting out demons.

Ды навучаў у сінагогах па ўсёй Галілеі і выганяў дэманаў.

A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said.

І прыступіўся да Яго пракажоны, і маліў Яго, упаўшы на калені, кажучы Яму: «Калі хочаш, можаш мяне ачысціць».

Moved with compassion,i Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!”

І Ісус пашкадаваў яго, і, працягнуўшы руку Сваю, дакрануўся да яго, і гаворыць яму: «Хачу, будзь ачышчаны».

Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.

І, калі Ён сказаў, адразу сышла з яго праказа, і ён ачысціўся.

Then Jesus sent him on his way with a stern warning:

І, пагразіўшы яму, адправіў яго адразу,

“Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy.j This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”

кажучы: «Глядзі, нікому нічога не кажы, але ідзі, пакажыся святару і за ачышчэнне сваё складзі ахвяру, як загадаў Майсей на сведчанне ім».

But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Jesus, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay out in the secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.

Але ён, адышоўшы, пачаў шмат распавядаць ды шырыць слаўную чутку так, што ўжо Ён не мог адкрыта пайсці ў горад, але быў звонку ў бязлюдных мясцінах. І адусюль сыходзіліся да Яго.
