This is the Good News about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God.a It began

Начало Евангелия Иисуса Христа, Сына Божьего.

just as the prophet Isaiah had written: “Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way.b

Так написано у пророка Исайи: «Вот, посылаю впереди Тебя вестника Моего, чтобы он проложил перед Тобой дорогу.

He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the LORD’s coming! Clear the road for him!’c”

Голос взывает в пустыне: Приготовьте Господу дорогу, Распрямите пути для Него!»

This messenger was John the Baptist. He was in the wilderness and preached that people should be baptized to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven.

Иоанн тогда стал крестить в пустыне. Он проповедовал крещение как обряд покаяния: в нем прощались грехи.

All of Judea, including all the people of Jerusalem, went out to see and hear John. And when they confessed their sins, he baptized them in the Jordan River.

И к нему собирались со всей страны Иудейской, все жители Иерусалима: исповедуя свои грехи, они принимали от него крещение в реке Иордане.

His clothes were woven from coarse camel hair, and he wore a leather belt around his waist. For food he ate locusts and wild honey.

Сам Иоанн носил верблюжью шерсть, опоясывался кожаным поясом, а ел саранчу и дикий мед.

John announced: “Someone is coming soon who is greater than I am — so much greater that I’m not even worthy to stoop down like a slave and untie the straps of his sandals.

Он проповедовал так:— За мной грядет Тот, Кто меня сильней! Нагнуться и развязать ремешок на его сандалиях — я и того недостоин!

I baptize you withd water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit!”

Я вас крестил, омывая водой, а Он омоет Святым Духом.

One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and John baptized him in the Jordan River.

И как раз в те дни пришел Иисус из Назарета, что в Галилее, и принял от Иоанна крещение в Иордане.

As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on hime like a dove.

И сразу, когда Он выходил из воды, увидел, как разделились небеса и сошел на Него Дух, словно голубь слетел.

And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.”

И раздался с небес голос:— Ты — Мой возлюбленный Сын, с Тобой Мое благоволение.

The Spirit then compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness,

И сразу же Дух повел Его в пустыню.

where he was tempted by Satan for forty days. He was out among the wild animals, and angels took care of him.

Был Он в пустыне сорок дней: сатана Его искушал, был Он среди зверей, и ангелы служили Ему.

Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News.f

А после того, как схватили Иоанна, Иисус пришел в Галилею и проповедовал там Божье Евангелие.

“The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”

Он говорил:— Настало время, близко уже Царство Божье. Покайтесь и веруйте в Евангелие!

One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simong and his brother Andrew throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living.

Проходя по берегу Галилейского моря, Он увидел Симона и его брата Андрея — они забрасывали в море сети, ведь они были рыбаками.

Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”

И сказал им Иисус:— За Мной! Я сделаю так, что вашим уловом вместо рыб будут люди.

And they left their nets at once and followed him.

Они тут же бросили сети и пошли за Ним.

A little farther up the shore Jesus saw Zebedee’s sons, James and John, in a boat repairing their nets.

Пройдя чуть дальше, Он увидел Иакова, сына Зеведея, вместе с его братом Иоанном — они чинили сети прямо в лодке.

He called them at once, and they also followed him, leaving their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired men.

Он сразу их позвал. Они оставили в лодке своего отца Зеведея с его работниками и пошли за Иисусом.

Jesus and his companions went to the town of Capernaum. When the Sabbath day came, he went into the synagogue and began to teach.

Оттуда они отправились в Капернаум. И сразу же, в субботу, Он пришел в синагогу и там учил.

The people were amazed at his teaching, for he taught with real authority — quite unlike the teachers of religious law.

Люди поражались, что наставлял Он их не как учат книжники — а как Тот, кто вправе это делать.

Suddenly, a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evilh spirit cried out,

Тут же у них в синагоге был человек, одержимый злым духом, и он закричал:

“Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are — the Holy One of God!”

— Что тебе до нас, Иисус Назарянин? Ты пришел нам на погибель! Мы знаем Тебя — Ты свят у Бога!

But Jesus reprimanded him. “Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered.

Но Иисус ему повелел:— Замолчи, покинь его!

At that, the evil spirit screamed, threw the man into a convulsion, and then came out of him.

Дух сотряс того человека и вышел из него с громким криком.

Amazement gripped the audience, and they began to discuss what had happened. “What sort of new teaching is this?” they asked excitedly. “It has such authority! Even evil spirits obey his orders!”

Все были поражены и спрашивали друг друга:— Что же это такое? Новое учение, и ведь Он в своем праве. Он повелевает нечистым духам — и те Ему повинуются!

The news about Jesus spread quickly throughout the entire region of Galilee.

Слух о Нем разнесся сразу по всей галилейской округе.

After Jesus left the synagogue with James and John, they went to Simon and Andrew’s home.

А из синагоги они сразу пошли в дом Симона и Андрея, вместе с Иаковом и Иоанном.

Now Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. They told Jesus about her right away.

У Симона теща лежала в горячке, Иисусу тут же сказали об этом.

So he went to her bedside, took her by the hand, and helped her sit up. Then the fever left her, and she prepared a meal for them.

Он подошел к ней, взял за руку — и поднял на ноги. Горячка у ней прошла, она смогла принять их как гостей.

That evening after sunset, many sick and demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus.

А когда настал вечер и уже садилось солнце, стали к Нему приносить всех, кто был болен или одержим бесом —

The whole town gathered at the door to watch.

весь город собрался у дверей.

So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and he cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak.

Он исцелил множество людей, страдавших разными недугами, и множество бесов изгнал, только не позволял бесам говорить, что они Его узнали.

Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.

И поднявшись рано, до рассвета, Он пошел в уединенное место, чтобы там помолиться.

Later Simon and the others went out to find him.

За ним отправился Симон вместе с остальными,

When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

а когда они Его нашли, то сказали:— Все Тебя ищут.

But Jesus replied, “We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came.”

Он ответил им:— Пойдем отсюда дальше, будем обходить окрестные селения, и Я стану там проповедовать, ведь для того Я и пришел.

So he traveled throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and casting out demons.

Так Он ходил и проповедовал у них в синагогах по всей Галилее, изгоняя бесов.

A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said.

Приходит к Нему прокаженный и молит, упав на колени:— Стоит Тебе пожелать — и Ты очистишь меня!

Moved with compassion,i Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!”

Иисус пожалел того человека, протянул руку, коснулся его и сказал:— Желаю, очистись!

Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.

И с него тут же сошла проказа, он очистился.

Then Jesus sent him on his way with a stern warning:

Иисус строго посмотрел на него и сразу отослал прочь,

“Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy.j This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”

сказав:— Смотри, ничего никому не рассказывай. Ступай, покажись священнику и принеси жертву очищения, как повелел Моисей, чтобы все убедились.

But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Jesus, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay out in the secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.

Но тот, едва выйдя, стал всем рассказывать о происшедшем и всё раскрыл, так что Иисус уже не мог просто так войти в город. Он оставался снаружи, в уединенных местах, и к Нему отовсюду стекались люди.
