Словом, у вас есть Христос, а значит, есть опора на все случаи жизни, есть отрада души — любовь, есть воцарение Духа, есть жалость и сострадание.

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,

Доведите мою радость до конца: позвольте себе единый взгляд на вещи и любовь как единый принцип для всех и каждого. Сосредоточьтесь на главном.

make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

Ни в чем не допускайте у себя соперничества и зазнайства. Друг друга смиренно ставьте выше своего «я».

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

Пусть в хлопотах о себе никто не обойдет вниманием и других.

do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Глядите на мир глазами Христа Иисуса.

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

Он, оставаясь сущностью Божьей, равенство с Богом не почел за надобность,

who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

Поставил Себя ниже всех, принял сущность раба. По рождению человек, по виду неотличимый от человека,

but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

Он смирил Себя и смертью умер из послушания. Смерть же принимал на кресте.

Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

И Бог превознес Его, дал Ему имя превыше всякого имени,

For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,

Чтобы перед именем Иисуса преклонилось всякое колено на небе, на земле и в преисподней

so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

И во славу Бога Отца всякий язык открыто признал, что Иисус Христос — Господь.

and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Словом, дорогие братья, как и всегда в послушании, — и не только в моем присутствии, а еще больше, когда я не с вами, — в страхе и трепете продолжайте труд своего спасения.

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;

И намерению, и действию вашему причина — Бог, Его забота.

for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Не вздорьте, не доказывайте каждый свое, а делайте.

Do all things without grumbling or disputing;

Будьте чадами Божьими — безупречными, чистыми, без пятна, без изъяна — вопреки поколению бесчестному, испорченному, среди которого вы — как звезды в мирах.

so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,

Несите Слово жизни. Порадуйте меня в День Христов, что не напрасно я вмешался, не напрасно потрудился.

holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

Если я употреблен как жертвенное пролитие на приношение вашей веры, то этому только радуюсь и делюсь радостью с вами.

But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.

В подобных случаях у вас радуйтесь и вы и делитесь радостью со мной.

You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me.

Располагаю, если позволит Господь Иисус, вскоре послать к вам Тимофея. Не успокоюсь, пока не узнаю, как у вас дела.

But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition.

Нет со мной никого, кто мог бы, как он, по-настоящему о вас позаботиться.

For I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare.

Каждый занят самим собой, а не делом Иисуса Христа.

For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.

А о преданности Тимофея вы знаете: он, как сын отцу, помогал мне нести слово евангелия.

But you know of his proven worth, that he served with me in the furtherance of the gospel like a child serving his father.

Надеюсь послать его к вам сразу же, как только определятся мои обстоятельства.

Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I see how things go with me;

Впрочем есть у меня убеждение, что и сам, если позволит Господь, скоро приду.

and I trust in the Lord that I myself also will be coming shortly.

Я счел нужным отослать и брата Эпафродита, моего сотрудника и соратника, а вашего посланца для помощи мне в моих нуждах.

But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my need;

О вас он тосковал и очень сокрушался, что до вас дошел слух о его болезни.

because he was longing for you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.

Он и вправду был очень болен, умирал. Но Бог милостив. И не только к нему, но и ко мне, когда избавил меня от нагромождения бед.

For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, so that I would not have sorrow upon sorrow.

Словом, я не колеблясь отсылаю его, чтобы вам была радость от его возвращения, а мне поубавилось печалей.

Therefore I have sent him all the more eagerly so that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may be less concerned about you.

Примите его со всей радостью Господней и таких цените.

Receive him then in the Lord with all joy, and hold men like him in high regard;

Его за дело Христово едва не постигла смерть, когда он, рискуя жизнью, возмещал у меня отсутствие ваших услуг.

because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was deficient in your service to me.
