When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all [a]with one accord in one place.

При наступлении дня Пятидесятницы все они были единодушно вместе.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

И внезапно сделался шум с неба, как бы от несущегося сильного ветра, и наполнил весь дом, где они находились.

Then there appeared to them [b]divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.

И явились им разделяющиеся языки, как бы огненные, и почили по одному на каждом из них.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

И исполнились все Духа Святаго, и начали говорить на иных языках, как Дух давал им провещевать.

And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.

В Иерусалиме же находились Иудеи, люди набожные, из всякого народа под небом.

And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.

Когда сделался этот шум, собрался народ, и пришел в смятение, ибо каждый слышал их говорящих его наречием.

Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans?

И все изумлялись и дивились, говоря между собою: сии говорящие не все ли Галилеяне?

And how is it that we hear, each in our own [c]language in which we were born?

Как же мы слышим каждый собственное наречие, в котором родились.

Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

Парфяне, и Мидяне, и Еламиты, и жители Месопотамии, Иудеи и Каппадокии, Понта и Асии,

Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

Фригии и Памфилии, Египта и частей Ливии, прилежащих к Киринее, и пришедшие из Рима, Иудеи и прозелиты,

Cretans and [d]Arabs — we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.”

критяне и аравитяне, слышим их нашими языками говорящих о великих [делах] Божиих?

So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”

И изумлялись все и, недоумевая, говорили друг другу: что это значит?

Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”

А иные, насмехаясь, говорили: они напились сладкого вина.

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.

Петр же, став с одиннадцатью, возвысил голос свой и возгласил им: мужи Иудейские, и все живущие в Иерусалиме! сие да будет вам известно, и внимайте словам моим:

For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only [e]the third hour of the day.

они не пьяны, как вы думаете, ибо теперь третий час дня;

But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

но это есть предреченное пророком Иоилем:

‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.

И будет в последние дни, говорит Бог, излию от Духа Моего на всякую плоть, и будут пророчествовать сыны ваши и дочери ваши; и юноши ваши будут видеть видения, и старцы ваши сновидениями вразумляемы будут.

And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.

И на рабов Моих и на рабынь Моих в те дни излию от Духа Моего, и будут пророчествовать.

I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

И покажу чудеса на небе вверху и знамения на земле внизу, кровь и огонь и курение дыма.

The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.

Солнце превратится во тьму, и луна — в кровь, прежде нежели наступит день Господень, великий и славный.

And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.’

И будет: всякий, кто призовет имя Господне, спасется.

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know —

Мужи Израильские! выслушайте слова сии: Иисуса Назорея, Мужа, засвидетельствованного вам от Бога силами и чудесами и знамениями, которые Бог сотворил через Него среди вас, как и сами знаете,

Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you [f]have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;

Сего, по определенному совету и предведению Божию преданного, вы взяли и, пригвоздив руками беззаконных, убили;

whom God raised up, having [g]loosed the [h]pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.

но Бог воскресил Его, расторгнув узы смерти, потому что ей невозможно было удержать Его.

For David says concerning Him: ‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face, For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.

Ибо Давид говорит о Нем: видел я пред собою Господа всегда, ибо Он одесную меня, дабы я не поколебался.

Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.

Оттого возрадовалось сердце мое и возвеселился язык мой; даже и плоть моя упокоится в уповании,

For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

ибо Ты не оставишь души моей в аде и не дашь святому Твоему увидеть тления.

You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’

Ты дал мне познать путь жизни, Ты исполнишь меня радостью пред лицем Твоим.

“Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

Мужи братия! да будет позволено с дерзновением сказать вам о праотце Давиде, что он и умер и погребен, и гроб его у нас до сего дня.

Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, [i]according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

Будучи же пророком и зная, что Бог с клятвою обещал ему от плода чресл его воздвигнуть Христа во плоти и посадить на престоле его,

he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.

Он прежде сказал о воскресении Христа, что не оставлена душа Его в аде, и плоть Его не видела тления.

This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.

Сего Иисуса Бог воскресил, чему все мы свидетели.

Therefore being exalted [j]to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.

Итак Он, быв вознесен десницею Божиею и приняв от Отца обетование Святаго Духа, излил то, что вы ныне видите и слышите.

“For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,

Ибо Давид не восшел на небеса; но сам говорит: сказал Господь Господу моему: седи одесную Меня,

Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ’

доколе положу врагов Твоих в подножие ног Твоих.

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

Итак твердо знай, весь дом Израилев, что Бог соделал Господом и Христом Сего Иисуса, Которого вы распяли.

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

Услышав это, они умилились сердцем и сказали Петру и прочим Апостолам: что нам делать, мужи братия?

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the [k]remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Петр же сказал им: покайтесь, и да крестится каждый из вас во имя Иисуса Христа для прощения грехов; и получите дар Святаго Духа.

For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Ибо вам принадлежит обетование и детям вашим и всем дальним, кого ни призовет Господь Бог наш.

And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this [l]perverse generation.”

И другими многими словами он свидетельствовал и увещевал, говоря: спасайтесь от рода сего развращенного.

Then those who [m]gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

Итак охотно принявшие слово его крестились, и присоединилось в тот день душ около трех тысяч.

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ [n]doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

И они постоянно пребывали в учении Апостолов, в общении и преломлении хлеба и в молитвах.

Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

Был же страх на всякой душе; и много чудес и знамений совершилось через Апостолов в Иерусалиме.

Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common,

Все же верующие были вместе и имели всё общее.

and [o]sold their possessions and goods, and divided[p] them among all, as anyone had need.

И продавали имения и всякую собственность, и разделяли всем, смотря по нужде каждого.

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

И каждый день единодушно пребывали в храме и, преломляя по домам хлеб, принимали пищу в веселии и простоте сердца,

praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added [q]to the church daily those who were being saved.

хваля Бога и находясь в любви у всего народа. Господь же ежедневно прилагал спасаемых к Церкви.
