Павло, Божою волею, апостол Христа Ісуса, та брат Тимотей

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

святим у Колоссах і вірним братам у Христі: благодать вам і мир від Бога, Отця нашого!

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father [a]and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ми дякуємо Богові й Отцеві Господа нашого Ісуса Христа завжди молячися за вас,

We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

відколи ми почули про вашу віру в Христа Ісуса та про любов, що маєте до всіх святих

since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints;

задля надії, що вам збережена на небі, що про неї оповіщення ви нещодавно чули у проповіді Євангелії правди,

because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,

яка до вас прибула, і як у всьому світі дає плоди і зростає, так і у вас, від того дня, коли ви почули і спізнали благодать Божу в правді.

which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth [b]fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

Ви навчилися від Епафра, нашого любого товариша в службі, який для вас є вірним Христовим слугою.

as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf,

Він і виявив нам любов вашу духовну.

who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.

Тому й ми від того дня, коли почули, не перестаємо за вас молитися та просити, щоб ви дійшли до повного спізнання Божої волі в усякій мудрості та духовнім розумінні,

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

щоб жити вам життям, достойним Господа, і подобатися йому в усьому, приносячи плід у всякому доброму ділі і зростаючи у спізнанні Бога,

that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

покріплені всякою силою завдяки його славній потузі, щоб осягнути всяку витривалість і довготерпеливість із радістю.

strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

Дякуйте Отцеві, який зробив нас гідними мати участь у долі святих у світлі.

giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

Він вирвав нас із влади тьми й переніс у царство свого улюбленого Сина,

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and [c]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

в якому ми маємо відкуплення, прощення гріхів.

in whom we have redemption [d]through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Він — образ невидимого Бога, первородний усякого створіння,

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

бо в ньому все було створене, що на небі і що на землі, видиме й невидиме: чи то престоли, чи господьства, чи начала, чи власті, все було ним і для нього створене.

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or [e]principalities or [f]powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Він раніш усього, і все існує в ньому.

And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Він також голова тіла, тобто Церкви. Він — начало, первородний з мертвих, так, щоб у всьому він мав першенство,

And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

бо сподобалося Богові, щоб уся повнота перебувала в ньому

For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,

і щоб через нього примирити з собою все чи то земне, а чи небесне, встановивши мир кров'ю його хреста.

and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

І вас самих, що колись були Богові чужі й вороги йому думкою та лихими вчинками, —

And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled

тепер він примирив на смертнім його тілі, щоб вас зробити святими, без плями та бездоганними перед собою.

in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight —

Тільки ж перебувайте у вірі, утверджені та постійні, не відхиляючись від надії Євангелії, яку ви чули, проповідану всьому створінню, що під небом, а якої я, Павло, став слугою.

if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Тепер я радію стражданнями за вас і доповняю на моїм тілі те, чого ще бракує скорботам Христовим для його тіла, що ним є Церква;

I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church,

якої я став слугою, згідно з розпорядженням Божим, даним мені заради вас, щоби звістувати повнотою між вами слово Боже,

of which I became a minister according to the [g]stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God,

оту тайну, заховану від віків та поколінь, але яка тепер відкрита для його святих.

the [h]mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.

їм Бог зізволив об'явити, яке то величне багатство цієї тайни між поганами, що є — Христос між вами, надія слави.

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: [i]which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Його ми проповідуємо, настановлюючи кожну людину та повчаючи в усякій мудрості, щоб появити досконалою кожну людину у Христі.

Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Власне, для цього я і працюю, змагаючись його силою, яка діє в мені потужно.

To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
