Второе послание к Тимофею святого апостола Павла

Итак ты, сын мой, будь крепок в благодати, которая во Христе Иисусе,

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

и что услышал от меня при многих свидетелях, то поручи верным людям, которые способны будут и других научить,

The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Страдай вместе со мной, как добрый воин Христа Иисуса.

Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

Никакой воин не связывает себя житейскими делами с целью угодить тому, кто призвал его в войско.

No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.

Если же кто и подвизается, то не получает венца, если незаконно подвизается.

Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules.

Трудящемуся земледельцу должно первому вкушать от плодов.

The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.

Разумей, что я говорю: ибо даст тебе Господь понимание во всём.

Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

Помни Иисуса Христа, воздвигнутого из мёртвых, от семени Давидова, по Евангелию моему,

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel,

в служении которому я терплю страдание даже до уз, как злодей, но слово Божие не связано узами,

for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned.

Поэтому я всё терплю ради избранных, чтобы и они получили спасение, которое во Христе Иисусе, со славой вечной,

For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.

Верно слово: ибо если мы с Ним умерли, то с Ним и жить будем;

It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;

если терпим, то с Ним и царствовать будем; если отречёмся, то и Он отречется от нас;

If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us;

если мы неверны, то Он пребывает верен, ибо отречься от Себя Он не может.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

Это напоминай, заклиная пред Богом, не заниматься словопрениями, что ни к чему полезному не приводит, а к расстройству слушающих.

Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers.

Постарайся представить себя Богу испытанным, работником непостыдным, правильно преподающим слово истины.

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.

А негодных пустых речей избегай; ибо будут всё больше преуспевать в нечестии,

But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,

и слово их, как зараза, будет распространяться; в их числе Именей и Филит,

and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

которые уклонились от истины, говоря, что воскресение уже произошло, и разрушают в некоторых веру.

men who have gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset the faith of some.

Однако, твердое основание Божие стоит, имея эту печать: познал Господь Своих, и: да отступит от неправды всякий, именующий имя Господне.

Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”

А в большом доме есть сосуды не только золотые и серебряные, но и деревянные и глиняные, и одни — для почётного употребления, другие — для низкого.

Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor.

Итак, если кто очистит себя от этого, будет он сосудом для почетного употребления, освященным, пригодным Владыке, на всякое доброе дело приготовленным.

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

Юношеских же похотей убегай, но ищи праведности, веры, любви, мира с призывающими Господа от чистого сердца.

Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Глупых же и невежественных споров устраняйся, зная, что они порождают столкновения;

But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels.

рабу же Господню не должно входить в столкновения, но быть тихим со всеми, учительным, незлобивым;

The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,

в кротости воспитывающим прекословящих не даст ли им Бог покаяние к познанию истины,

with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,

и они бы опомнились, освободившись из сети диавола, где, как добыча, они были в его воле.

and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.
