Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it.

Ведь и сам я всё это видел,и сам слышал, и всё я понял;

What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.

я же не меньше вашего знаю —я ничем вас не хуже.

Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

Но я обращаюсь к Всесильному,я хочу возразить Богу!

But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.

А вы раны мои лечите ложью,и все вы — никудышные лекари.

O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.

О если б вы наконец замолчали —в этом и была бы ваша мудрость!

Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

Так вникните в доводы мои,послушайте, что скажу в свою защиту.

Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?

Нужна ли Богу ваша неправда?будете ли лгать ради Него?

Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?

Для Него вы кривите душой,Его защитить хотите?

Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?

Когда Он вас испытает — хорошо ли будет?Или обманете Его, как человека?

He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.

Он вас сурово обличит,если будете темнить, кривить душой.

Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?

Тогда устрашит вас Его величие,падет на вас ужас Божий.

Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.

Вы припоминаете обветшалые речения,ваш щит слеплен из глины.

Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.

Так умолкните и дайте мне сказать,а там — будь что будет.

Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?

Закусил я свою плоть зубами,душу держу на ладони.

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Он меня убьет, и нет надежды,но буду твердить Ему, что я прав —

He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.

и в этом мое спасение!А безбожник и подойти к Нему не смеет.

Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.

Слушайте, слушайте мои слова,внимайте тому, что возглашаю!

Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.

Вот, я излагаю свое делои знаю, что я прав.

Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.

Кто сможет меня оспорить?Тогда бы я умолк и умер.

Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.

Только двух вещей со мной не делай —и не стану от Тебя скрываться:

Withdraw thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid.

пусть не приближается ко мне Твоя рукаи пусть не сотрясает меня Твой ужас!

Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.

А тогда позови — и я отвечу,или дай мне сказать — и продолжи Сам.

How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.

Много ль у меня грехов и проступков?Назови мои грехи и пороки.

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?

Почему Ты скрываешь от меня Свой Лики считаешь меня врагом Своим?

Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?

Станешь ли Ты гнать опавший листи преследовать сухую мякину?

For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth.

Горькую судьбу начертал ты мне,грехи юности обращаешь на меня;

Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet.

Ты заковал мне ноги в колодки,заклеймил подошвы моих ног,чтоб следить за каждым моим шагом.

And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth eaten.
