Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it.

Се, сия виде око мое, и слыша ухо мое,

What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.

и вем, елика и вы весте: и не неразумнее есмь вас.

Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

Но обаче и аз ко Господу возглаголю, обличу же пред ним, аще восхощет.

But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.

Вы бо есте врачеве неправеднии и целителе злых вси,

O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.

буди же вам онемети, и сбудется вам в премудрость.

Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

Слышите же обличение уст моих, суду же устен моих вонмите.

Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?

Не пред Богом ли глаголете и пред ним вещаете лесть?

Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?

или уклонитеся, вы же сами судии будите.

Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?

Добро бо, аще изследит вас: аще бо вси творящии приложитеся к нему, обаче обличит вы.

He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.

Аще же и тай лицам удивитеся,

Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?

не движение ли его смятет вас, боязнь же от него нападет на вы?

Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.

Отидет же величание ваше равно пепелу, тело же бренно.

Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.

Умолчите, да возглаголю и почию от гнева.

Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?

Вземля плоти моя зубами, душу же мою положу в руце моей.

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Аще мя убиет сильный, понеже и нача, обаче возглаголю и обличу пред ним:

He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.

и сие ми сбудется во спасение: не внидет бо пред ним лесть.

Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.

Послушайте, послушайте глагол моих: возвещу бо вам слышащым.

Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.

Се, аз близ есмь суда моего, вем аз, яко праведен явлюся.

Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.

Кто бо есть судяйся со мною, да ныне умолчу и изчезну?

Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.

Двое же ми сотвориши, тогда от лица твоего не скрыюся:

Withdraw thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid.

руку от мене отими, страх же твой да не ужасает мя:

Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.

посем призовеши, аз же тя послушаю, или возглаголеши, аз же ти дам ответ.

How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.

Колицы суть греси мои и беззакония моя? научи мя, кая суть?

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?

Почто крыешися от мене? мниши же мя противна суща тебе?

Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?

Или яко лист движимь ветром убоишися? или яко сену носиму ветром противляешимися?

For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth.

Яко написал еси на мя злая, обложил же ми еси юностныя грехи:

Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet.

положил же еси ногу мою в возбранение: сохранил же еси дела моя вся: в корения же ног моих пришел еси:

And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth eaten.

иже обетшают якоже мех, или якоже риза молием изядена.
