But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession.

Один же человек по имени Анания, с женой своей, Сапфирой, продал часть своей земли

And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

и часть денег утаил, с ведома жены, а остальные деньги принёс и отдал апостолам.

But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?

Тогда Пётр сказал: "Анания, почему ты позволил сатане править сердцем твоим, так что даже Святому Духу солгал и утаил часть денег, вырученных от продажи земли?

While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

До того, как ты продал её, разве не твоей была она? А после продажи разве не твои были деньги и разве не мог ты ими распоряжаться? Зачем ты задумал такое? Не людям, а Богу солгал ты".

Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things.

Услышав эти слова, Анания упал и умер. И пришли юноши и обернули его тело в погребальное полотно, а затем вынесли и похоронили.

And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him.

И всех, кто услышал об этом, объял великий страх.

Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.

Прошло около трёх часов, и пришла жена Анании, не знавшая о случившемся.

And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said, “Yes, for so much.”

Пётр спросил её: "Скажи мне, за столько ли вы продали своё поле?" И она ответила: "Да, за столько".

Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”

Тогда Пётр сказал ей: "Значит и ты, и муж твой сговорились испытать Духа Господня? Взгляни! Вон, похоронившие мужа твоего уже у дверей, они и тебя вынесут".

Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband.

Тотчас же упала она у ног его и умерла. Войдя, юноши увидели её мёртвой, вынесли и похоронили возле мужа.

So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.

И великий страх объял всех верующих и всех слышавших об этом.

And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch.

Много знамений и чудес было совершено апостолами в народе. И были они все вместе в Соломоновом Притворе.

Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly.

Никто из прочих не осмеливался присоединиться к ним, но народ прославлял их.

And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,

И всё больше и больше народа, и мужчины, и женщины, обретали веру в Господа, и число верующих всё возрастало.

so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.

И вот уже люди стали выносить больных на улицы и класть их там на кроватях и подстилках в надежде, что хотя бы тень Петра упадёт на кого-нибудь из них, когда он будет проходить мимо, и этого будет достаточно, чтобы исцелить больного.

Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

Толпы стекались из городов вокруг Иерусалима, принося больных и одержимых нечистыми духами, и все они исцелялись.

Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with [a]indignation,

Тогда первосвященник и все, кто был с ним (а это были саддукеи), преисполнившись зависти,

and laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison.

схватили апостолов и посадили их в общую темницу.

But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said,

Но ночью ангел Господний отворил двери темницы и, выведя их оттуда, сказал:

“Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.”

"Идите, встаньте в храме и поведайте народу всё о вашей новой жизни во Христе".

And when they heard that, they entered the temple early in the morning and taught. But the high priest and those with him came and called the [b]council together, with all the [c]elders of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

Услышав это, они вошли на рассвете в храм и стали учить народ. Когда пришёл первосвященник и все, кто был с ним, собрали синедрион и совет израильских старейшин и послали служителей в темницу за апостолами.

But when the officers came and did not find them in the prison, they returned and reported,

Но, придя в темницу, служители не нашли их там. И, возвратившись, сообщили об этом.

saying, “Indeed we found the prison shut securely, and the guards standing [d]outside before the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside!”

"Мы нашли темницу надёжно запертой, и стражники стояли у дверей, но когда их открыли, то в темнице никого не оказалось", сказали они.

Now when [e]the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what the outcome would be.

Услышав эти слова, первосвященники и начальник стражи храма недоумевали, что же теперь случится?

So one came and told them, [f]saying, “Look, the men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!”

Затем пришёл кто-то и сказал им: "Люди, которых вы заключили в темницу, стоят в храме и учат народ!"

Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.

Тогда начальник стражи вместе со служителями вышел и привёл апостолов обратно. Они боялись применять силу, чтобы народ не забросал их камнями.

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,

Они привели апостолов и поставили перед синедрионом. Тогда первосвященник спросил их:

saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!”

"Разве не дали мы вам строгое приказание не учить об Этом Человеке? Вы же, однако, заполонили Иерусалим своим учением и хотите возложить на нас вину за Его смерть".

But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.

Пётр и другие апостолы отвечали: "Мы должны повиноваться Богу больше, чем людям.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.

Вы убили Иисуса, распяв на кресте, но Бог предков наших воскресил Его из мёртвых.

Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

Бог возвысил Его, посадив по правую руку от Себя, как нашего Вождя и Спасителя, чтобы Он мог даровать Израилю раскаяние и отпущение грехов.

And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”

И свидетели этому мы и Святой Дух, которого Бог дал тем, кто повинуется Ему".

When they heard this, they were furious[g] and plotted to kill them.

Услышав это, члены синедриона пришли в ярость и хотели убить апостолов.

Then one in the council stood up, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law held in respect by all the people, and commanded them to put the apostles outside for a little while.

Но один из членов синедриона, фарисей по имени Гамалиил, почитаемый всеми законник, встал и приказал, чтобы апостолов вывели на несколько минут.

And he said to them: “Men of Israel, [h]take heed to yourselves what you intend to do regarding these men.

Затем он сказал: "Люди Израиля! Будьте осторожны с этими людьми. Что вы хотите сделать?

For some time ago Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody. A number of men, about four hundred, [i]joined him. He was slain, and all who obeyed him were scattered and came to nothing.

Помните, как недавно явился Февда, выдававший себя за какого-то великого, и около четырёхсот человек присоединилось к нему. Он был убит, а все его последователи рассеялись и исчезли.

After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census, and drew away many people after him. He also perished, and all who obeyed him were dispersed.

После него во время переписи появился Иуда-галилеянин и увлёк за собой народ. Он тоже был убит, а все, кто следовал за ним, рассеялись.

And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing;

Поэтому теперь говорю вам: отступитесь от этих людей и оставьте их в покое. Ибо, если предприятие это и дело это от людей, то оно провалится.

but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it — lest you even be found to fight against God.”

Если же от Бога, то вы не сможете остановить их, и может случиться, что будете бороться против Бога".

And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

Они приняли его совет. Позвав апостолов, они избили их и, велев не проповедовать об Иисусе, отпустили.

So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for [j]His name.

Апостолы покинули синедрион, радуясь, что удостоились принять бесчестие ради Иисуса.

And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

И каждый день они продолжали проповедовать и возвещать благую весть о том, что Иисус — Христос, и в самом храме, и из дома в дом.
