Братья, чего желает мое сердце, о чем молюсь Богу — это спасение израильтян.

Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

Свидетельствую им, что их вера в Бога ревностна, но неразумна:

For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

не знают они праведности Божьей и стремятся утвердить собственную, а Божьей праведности не покоряются.

For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

А ведь закон устремлен ко Христу, чтобы всякий верующий достиг праведности.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

О праведности, которая от закона, Моисей пишет: «человек, исполнивший закон, им и будет жив».

For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

А праведность, которая от веры, призывает: «не говори в сердце своем: “Кто бы взошел на небо (чтобы свести оттуда Христа)

But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

или сошел бы в бездну (чтобы вывести Христа из мира мертвых)?”».

Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

И что же говорится в Писании? «Близко к тебе это слово, на устах твоих и в сердце твоем».

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

То есть будешь спасен, если исповедуешь устами своими Господа Иисуса и поверишь сердцем своим, что Бог Его воскресил из мертвых.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Вера в сердце приводит к праведности, исповедание устами — ко спасению.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Ведь Писание говорит: «Кто верует в Него, тому не придется краснеть».

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Здесь нет различия между иудеем и язычником, один у всех Господь. Он щедро одаривает тех, кто призывает Его,

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

ибо «всякий, кто призовет имя Господне, будет спасен».

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Смогут ли призвать Его те, кто не уверовал? Смогут ли уверовать те, кто о Нем не слышал? Смогут ли услышать, если им никто не возвестит?

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

А как станут возвещать, если никто их не пошлет на проповедь? Потому и написано: «Как прекрасны шаги благовестника!»

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Но не все прислушались к евангельской вести. Исайя говорит: «Господи, кто поверил тому, что от нас услышал?»

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Итак, вера приходит от услышанной вести, а весть — от слова Христова.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

И я спрошу: неужели израильтяне этого не слышали? Быть не может, когда «по всей земле раздается голос их и до пределов вселенной речи их».

But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

Снова спрошу: разве израильтяне не знали? Еще Моисей говорил: «вызову у Моего народа ревность при помощи тех, кто ему чужд, раздражение — при помощи неразумного народа».

But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

Исайя тоже сказал прямо: «нашли Меня те, кто и не искал, Я открылся тем, кто и не спрашивал обо Мне».

But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

А об израильтянах он говорит: «Что ни день, простираю Я руки к народу непокорному и своевольному».

But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
